@@headgamesyeah that’s why I’m going to go with you guys. I have a date with jay from real street. At the end of this year. So I hope I can get a head done by you
There are car owners that should just have a reputable professional shop that specializes in their platform. As a consumer you have to do you due diligence in researching these shops by checking reviews, asking the car community of your platform of the shop’s reputation and experience.
Thinkin y’all nailed it, with the “window licker” assessment, but, think it’s multi-level, one for the guy doing the work, two, for the customer giving the nod to the absurdity of the work proposed.
@@headgames well then, that adds another layer, for whoever is doing the work on the car / engine for the owner, and using that machinist or engine builder, and giving the go ahead on the head work… Sounds like the car owner may be getting hosed from more then one direction, but, fully understand your not wanting to be connected to that drama.
Dude that heads shocking !!! WTF were those clowns doing.. obviously not professional engine builders with history and a good reputation .. There’s nothing wrong with posting content like this , it makes people aware of issues if people try to cut costs. Most will respect you more especially when you go into detail regarding measuring the stem height etc etc . I subscribed simply for this reason and because we have an S58 . Also there is very little information in circulation with this engine. It’s been very helpful and informative for myself and no doubt others too . Thankyou 👍🇬🇧
I just think if your on this page, we should be discussing HeadGames but..I can say that maybe it shows what else is out there and why you should come here lol idk. It's a battle for me for sure.
Luckily I have an experienced head porter in Socal that has years expertise and the tooling to do a proper head upgrade. Tom at Portflow in Harbor city.
hi,i need your opinion on this....can the cam caps from one head can be use it in another head without any modificatios? my understanding is that it should not but i want a pro opinion on this topic.
The only reason I can figure a guy would pull after-market to go back to OEM is if the thought the after-market stuff was junk. Without it on hand, how can you be sure ?
The same shop has done a few heads that have been coming through here and I know the spring kit they use is worse than stock. So I get wanting to remove it, but the valves are great and would have worked with the stock spring kit. Would have been a better alternative to removing seats with a screwdriver or chisel how they did.
hoping that guy got the aftermarket stuff back (in a box) 🤔 well, if do not know what is 'wrong', you'll never know/understand what is right/correct. the two have to exist together... 🏁
Hey Dave I saw your 2jzge vvti video vs 2jzte non vvti,so my ? Is it just as simple to swap heads from a toyota supra 2jzgte to a 2jzge and now you have a supra now for example from my is300 2jzge is that possible to take a 2jzgte head off a supra and will that give me in a sense now supra power or is there more involve! Love your videos I've done head work before on my 08 honda odyssey engine so I've pulled heads before and if that's possible I'm just curious, okay pls lmk thanks very much
I don't think it is worth going from a GTE head to a GE head on a Supra. Unless it is an NA-T combo then the VVTI head is a perfect fit. I know they all bolt on but I am no swap expert on the rest of that deal. Thanks for watching !
@headgames ok it looks like I'm catching up with what you meant nat engine! If that means naturally aspirated then yes I have a 2002 lexus is300 2jzge bone stock engine so all I wanted to know is if the head from the supra will give me more power and is it as simple as swaping the heads had to figure out what NAT meant lol I'm a nooby!..Dave sorry just trying to know if I'll need to do more or if I can just again swap a head off a supra and slap it on an is300 stock 2jzge block if that's more clearer maybe I confused u sorry for my Grammer in putting this questions together..appreciate your time!!
I have a BMW N20 engine I want to rebuild, but I can't find a rebuild kit for it. Any idea where I can find one? Also will need head redone. Who do you recommend for that? Just found you. Thanks in advance.
Not sure how this happens. Don't bring your S58 to a circus to get worked on, or try and save money on things that need to be done properly by the pros.
