Suika’s an oni, and she has two horns. Kasen’s an oni, she has two horns. Yuugi’s an oni, but only has one horn. I guess that means one could call Yuugi… …an onicorn? I’ll just leave
People keep talking about Koishi or Utsuho's themes but forget about masterpieces like Yuugi or Parsee, SA is one hell of a soundtrack delicacy, nearly all themes are on a similar level of awesomeness
There's only one song in SA I'm not a big fan of, and listening to the soundtrack over and over was the only reason I was able to beat this game first.
@@crowedarken I feel like we need a strength tier list for the Oni. I feel like Kasen is brutally strong but weaker than others, with her cunning and wickedness to make up for it. Yuugi is said to maybe be stronger than Suika, and Suika herself is an absolute powerhouse, honestly I almost like to think Suika is the strongest of the bunch.
@@OldManHan Suika is the most consistently cited for her extreme strength, as well as her abilities such as manipulating density. However, she herself admits Yuugi might be stronger in terms of raw physical power. I think if we look at the three known Oni holistically, we can categorise them thus: - Yuugi: strongest physically, but least varied in skill due to being a more straightforward, “honest” fighter. - Kasen: probably the weakest physically (in ULiL she notes that for “various reasons” her full strength cannot be used), but with the wisest range of additional skills and tools available. - Suika sits in the middle. She’s not as strong as Yuugi in terms of blunt force, but has more tricks up her non-existent sleeves, and wouldn’t be entirely opposed to underhanded tactics. Suika would no doubt have an upper hand on both Yuugi and Kasen for the balance shown, which makes it reasonable to posit she’s the strongest overall.
@@Set666Abominae Well, Kasen speaking of using her full strength was implying use of her true form, wasn't it? Kasen kept her Oni self secret as long as possible, and since she was ultimately avoiding it, that full strength was that of her true unsealed form. Now the question is, does true form Oni Kasen still have all her Hermit skills? And as for Suika, I feel that she can easily surpass Yuugi's strength through her density manipulation, as cheap as it is. I'm pretty sure she can increase the density of her own strength, but I suppose that does count as underhanded tactics. Otherwise, that's an excellent outlook on it all!
@@Set666Abominae Don't forget Onis usually never lie. So if Suika admits herself that Yuugi is probably stronger than her, that would mean that she had the opportunity to confirm it several times. Given her love for fighting and her "natural" fair play, I don't think she would use her powers to beat someone stronger than her, especially in a contest where only raw strength must be used
This theme invoke the idea of a strong but festive youkai, which really fits Yuugi (or just oni in general but whatever). I don't have much to say, it's just great!
Yuugi is definitely my favorite out of all of the Onis honestly. Suika and Kasen are really fun and good in their own rights, but Yuugi just has such Energy™ to her, she's just such a fun character. My favorite from SA besides Satori also i too prefer her appearance in SA just a tad, but the kimono is pretty as well in most fanarts imo :]
I mean SA is just this: Yamame is brutal Parsee is undebatably the hardest Stage 2 boss Yuugi is a hard Stage 3 boss Satori is Satori Orin is one of the toughest Stage 5 boss Utsuho is Utsuho Koishi is the hardest Extra Boss
@@abarette_ Parsee... I just hate her spells 😤😣 When I realized that she's the 2nd boss I was like "Wth she's too hard for a 2nd boss". Utsuho I don't understand one of her spells, so I always die. Koishi...I don't know...the extra stage (Sanae for be more precise) is way too hard, I didn't even see her 😭
@@retroblue9558 haha I feel you so much. Haven't unlocked Extra yet but I heard it's the hardest in the series And yeah Parsee I was like wtf lol the midboss spell especially, it seems so simple but it's sooo full of bullshit
@@classiclover2129 Obviously I did it's one of the first games I played (and my favourite prolly) And I can say with certainty that Parsee gives way more dead runs/annoying bullshit that Ringo will ever do. Hecatia I can't seem to do it properly with any character (farthest I got is third spell...) but the stage in itself is calm
People always talk about Suika, but Yuugi literally has a three step tutorial spellcard to knock anyone out. I would like to see Suika try something like that.
This stage this fight is one of my favorites. Just the image and feeling of running around the Old Hell with Yuugi is awesome and both the stage and the boss themes are amazing. I am so happy to see Yuugi back and her theme in Gouyoku Ibun is awesome too.
the way i see it, pic's background is basically "can't have the surface's shit when drinking sake underground, so i will hang some fitting tapestry on my wall instead"
I'm just gonna start using these re-uploads to make a list of songs for wanna learn to play on piano. Not that finding piano sheets for most of them is even possible, but hey I can try
there's a good amount on musescore, for instance chronondecay has full sheet transcripts for th6/8/10/18 and i'm pretty sure at least most of the songs have been transcribed at least once
From her latest community post: "2) Reupload old soundtracks (Touhou 9 - 12) - this wasn't in my original plan but I feel it would complete the channel. I think it'll be worth it to have them all in glorious HD, with proper fadeouts. I will probably be doing around 3 uploads a day when that happens so it doesn't drag along."
Ben's Comments: To me, this'd honestly work just as amazingly as a stage 1 or 2 theme. It has that "come on, let's play!" vibe, but it also has an adventurous vibe too.
I do wish Yuugi got more boss encounters in general. She always strikes me like Yuuka in holding back by a lot, except Yuugi is more public with her power and smothering attitude...God Save poor Aya and Momiji in Memories of Phantasm
Friendly reminder that Yuugi fought throughout the entire stage, and the boss battle, without losing a single drop of sake. I don't think that she was ever truly challenged during her encounter in SA.
