Interesting aside, which shows how good the "warranty" is. New Zealand, courtesy of the GM / Holden. I bought my model 2008 9-3 used/second-hand (produced October '07), in June 2018. November 2018, 10 + years after the car was produced, the local dealer replaced the airbag at no cost to me. Including the Dealership, "courtesy-with-a smile". Outstanding !!
How do you verify the recall has been done? I have the Carfax for my 2006 9-3 and there is no mention of it. Is there a serial number range of the airbags that are bad?
I reached out to Orio and mentioned I don’t believe the recall had been done. I have an 03 as well and put an 06 aero wheel on the car. I mentioned this to them and they still sent me a free airbag to my local Saab guy to install. Don’t know if I just got lucky but it’s worth a shot.
@@AutoAutopsy I was definitely impressed. Wasn’t hard to deal with like they could have made it if they wanted to. Everyone I was in contact with was extremely helpful and nice.
Here in Sweden there are no recalls for SAAB cars because no one wants to take responsibility. But when it comes to replacing the airbags, are there other airbags that fit the SAAB 93 and 95? Like how do I know the mechanic won't just put in another Takata airbag? And if I would myself replace it, how would I find an airbag and know that it's not a Takata airbag?
So I live in Switzerland and upgraded the steering wheel in my 2004 Saab 9-3. The new steering wheel also has the "newer" airbag. But I have no idea, if the recall has been made. Is there a possible way to check that? Bought the airbag from facebook marketplace.
Hey, i have been watching so many of ur videos fixing my own saab. i have a new issue tho. i have a check engine light with no power around 2500rmps and up. it seems like a limp mode. plus the ac won’t work when this happens. do u have any suggestions by any chance? been bugging me for couple weeks now…
Haven't replaced an air bag on a 9-3 but needed to access the dash module on my sons 2000 9-3 turbo which requires removing the airbag and forgot to disconnect the battery. When we put it all back together we had an airbag alarm and had to pay $50 for a guy with a Tech 2 to have the alarm reset. SAABs don't like to have the airbag removed without disconnecting the battery.
I was wondering about that. Mine hasn’t faded but it sure seems to scratch easily. I don’t even remember touching it but it has lots of little scratches.
