Last time I failed to fix the K-jet on the Saab 900 Turbo.
This time I try again!

I've never seen a K-jet in the wild before, they seem like neat little systems, and in many ways nicer to work with then a Carb. I never want to see another Weber in my life.

Kjetronic is super sensitive to fuel pressures. Everything has to be working together or else it runs like shit. I know, I am running a Renault R5 turbo 2

I've done that feed & return swap mistake on small engines with the primer bulb type carbs, cos I never remember which sucks and which blows, so before refitting now I make sure I check which tube develops a vacuum when th eprimer bulb is squeezed a few times, on your system there, probably better to use coloured paint pens to mark them before disassembly, but, they do say hindsight is 20-20... :P

Great and inspiring series! Love it. Seven episodes in and I still wonder how long it's gonna take before you clean it =)

I need videos like this. Honest and realistic success and mistakes. Glad you got that figured out and keep up with the Saab videos!

One step forward, two back. Sounds pretty normal. You know what was wrong so you won't do it again. Cool.

Well done Seppo. We learn better by failure. I'm looking forward to more SAAB content. A brand new 1990 Turbo 900 was the first SAAB I drove.

That cold start issue sound to me at least to be cold start injector related. Mine used to need few starts because starter solenoid didn’t send power to the injector. Bad temp sensor could also be solution. I would first test that just by unplugging it and seeing if that makes it harder to start. Of course it could be something else like vacuum leak, stuck air valve or maybe (unlikely) wrong pressure at WUR

In Germany by HFT or Spiegler there are replacement fuel lines available. It’s recommended to replace them because the old lines become brittle and can cause a fire, yust as a tip… By the way, great work. I love your channel, a 99 Driver from Germany…

Yes I am aware... But mine are actually pretty flexible still! I am tempted to try and make my own though.... maybe copper lines?

Just wanted to comment that. @Seaside Garage you should change them even if they' re still ok. There have been a couple cars that burned down. I had those lines on one of my 900s and they were ok. The my dad touched one in an bad spot and it just snapped. Then i couldn't move the car for a week until the new lines arrived. Also love your content. A 900 driver and 99 restorer. Also lover of the Niva an the UAZ. Keep up the good work.

congrats man! nice to hear the engine again =) one very smart thing that saab did was the reverse light in the front cornerlights that lid up when you put in reverse. i had that on a old 9000. really clever. a fun thing to make a video about maybe =)

A video about all the quirky, well thought out design features of Saabs. Everything from freewheel on the earlier 2 strokes and V4s, to dual wishbone front suspension on the 900, etc etc.

@@SeasideGarage they’re getting pricey now even in the UK and they’re much rarer beasts anyway here in France. I’d better be sensible and look after my 2004 9-5 Aero estate instead, but I’m really enjoying watching you resurrect this one. She’s going to be a cracking car when she’s done.

Great work ! Every trial is a step forward. I am now lucky enough to have my 900 GLi running again with K jet. In my case it was a disintegrating fuel pump bellows under the pump in the tank, which caused all the problems. Your car is probably similar set up, so if you haven't already, recommend pulling the pump assembly out of the tank and having a look. Any other way to contact you Sir ? I have pictures as well. Happy Christmas and all the best David

Hi there, quick question, which liquid sealant did you use and did you coat both sides of the gasket? Thanks!
@SeasideGarage
@SeasideGarage Год назад
both sides... :) think it was a loctite sealent... needs to be able to cope with fuel. And only a very very light layer!
