UstadMa Zila Khan loved this Ghazal written by Noorjahan Sarwat specially because of the Girl Child Rights theme of this album called Zila The Girl Child, a production by Saregama.
In this Ghazal there are feelings of how left out a girl feels, specially in one stanza :
Ek shajar aesa bhi raahe zeest me 'Sarvat' mila,
phool to shaakho pe the, patta haraa koi na tha.
Meaning there are so many who promised all the glitter and lust (phool/flowers) but no one gave security, shade or the sustenance of life like leaves (patta hara) give to a tree. These lines are written so beautifully by the sensitive poet Noorjahan Sarwat whom Zila Khan chose for this album and brought her poetry to the singing world for the first time, before anyone else had sung her.
