He could play any shot with grammatical perfection plus outstanding elegance. Sachin in the 90s simply unparalleled. No disrespect to any batsman but Sachin was simply unrivalled then. It is extremely tough for one to play thus in spite of taking d whole burden of the team on one's shoulder that Sachin did for so many years. Before Ganguly became captain Sachin had to take extreme pressure every time he came out to bat. Some players who indulged in betting added to Sachin's pressure even more. Plus media pressure.

I think he relished pressure back in the 90s. The only thing really upset him was not getting desired results as a Captain. When things changed in 2000s, there was almost no pressure on him, but he had grave ongoing back injury and Tennis Elbow. Had he been injury free, I guess he would have played T20I as well. That was his greatness. Despite being severely hampered due to Tennis Elbow, he could still score naughty 100s in ODIs and Measured Tons in Test. Imagine being crippled by your back and then by Tennis Elbow, still not giving up on your beloved 4-5 Pound Bat. He cut down his arc, modified his range and once in a while played with same majesticness and fire that he had in 90s after 2005. Never the same, but effective as ever. I guess he gave his best in 2011 WC. Innings against SAF was A 90s Fans Delight. Shocking that Team capitulated after he got out

I was more happy if he'd have scored another 2 runs. Real master class from him. 96 and 97 he was in good and better form. 98 is best of his career.

Vaas and pushpakumara treated in such a way like any club bowler bowled... Spinner trreated with absolute disdain... Todaays bowler fortunate enough that not to bowl ti him in noww a days short boundary with good batting pitch... Look at the crowd... Modern day kids dont know how big he was... Sachin sachin chant the best ever...

A wiki fact:- Chaminda Vaas before this match told in an interview: We've found a weakness in Tendulkar's batting, he gives some catching chance while playing the straight drive Tendulkar played 16 straight drives to Vaas in this innings, all went to the boundary Unreal, out of the world stuff ..

Thats because he didnt had any back problems (Cover Drives, Cuts and Pulls) which started in 1999. And Tennis Elbow which started around 2004-05. He was still his fluent self up until 2004. The back problems had taken out some of his shots but he could still murder attacks. Tennis Elbow was a different story which took out his most fluent drives and reduced to playing check drives. HIs bat speed reduced considerably, meaning he wasnt hitting spinners as much as he did previously. There's your answer. His Style never went away, just the changes that he made to his game due to career threatening injuries made him tone down by at least 40% of his own capacity
