I just wanted everyone to know what's going on with me, and by extension, the near-term content on the Serious Keto channel. I wanted you to know why video releases may be a little erratic and why I may seem a little "off" in some videos.
This video was very hard for me to record, and I hope that people will be respectful in the comments. I know this video won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I consider us all part of a community and it was important for me to share this with you.

Our fur babies are not just pets. They are family. It is hard. Take the time you need. You are in our hearts and prayers. They know what is happening and they try to isolate themselves. You gave Thumper a great life!

Sorry for your furbaby loss. Lost my two elderly cats the last two years. At age 57, I told God I'm done, no more , it hurts too much. Clearly God knew I was to continue serving the needy...rescued a one-eyed black mini panther kitten. Two thousand dollars later, his eye bad eye removed and neutered, he's thriving and a big love bug. 💖🐾👁

The same thing happened to us. We were not going to get another one after we lost our old gal Vera but a family friend found a tiny kitten on her porch so I said "bring her over!" Lol they bring such sunshine to our lives. Kittens are the purrrfect medicine for the heart

Oh Steve (and family), I am so sorry for your loss. Our furry babies are so much a part of the fabric of our family. We have to be responsible guardians though, and be an advocate. We had to bid farewell to our sweet Tabitha back in September. She was 16, and it was heart wrenching for us. My sincere condolences.

We lost all four of our geriatric pets over a 12 month period: a 16yo dog, a 20yo cat, and two 18yo cats. It was really hard. The house was way too quiet. We ended up adopting three rescue kitties, two 2yo (bonded pair), and a 7yo. We still miss our old guys but these new little ladies bring us lots of joy.

So sorry for your loss Steve...I went thru the same thing in November with my dog Sparky...he would have been 12 last week. The new puppy is 8 months now and has kept me sane, but she doesn't replace my dog who died from cancer. I've always weighed the deaths of pets against all the wonderful good years together and, in my opinion, there is no contest. They enrich our lives so much. We lost 3 elderly cats over a 3 month period. Got a new kitten, who died after a couple of months of FIP. I just took in a grown male cat that the neighbors were having trouble with in their apartment. He was very traumatized, but he's starting to act just like the video of Thumper.

We lost our beloved cat, Marshall, also. He looked alot like your Thumper, w beautiful gray hair. He was about the same age when he started showing the same symptoms of shutting down and started hiding. He lost half of his weight in just a few days of not eating, and finally, didnt have the energy to make it to the litter box or jump ip on our bed like he used to. My husband came across some information about omega 3 and vitamin B12. So I started him w that 3 times a day from a dropper n he quickly regained his weight back and back to being himself. We were able to enjoy him for another 1 1/2 years before he shut down again. Hope this will help others. So sorry for your loss.

I love cats. I have a feral family in my back yard, a mom and her 2 kittens. I also have an indoor cat. All the feral cats have been to the vet for vaccines and neutering. My indoor cat also gets regular vet visits.

Holy Moly - just watching the last frames of Thumper on your pillow has brought me to tears. We are dog lovers and had to put four down in the last 27 years. We feel your pain. Oh Steve. I had to put my mini poodle Holly down last week. Within weeks she gotten so ill that we had no choice. After a week I'm still mourning. I too have to fight the guilt I feel about it but I also remember how she would look at me imploring me to end her pain. In her trust in me it is like she knew she was asking me to do the unthinkable. Now I am trying to concentrate on how loved she was and how much she loved me. As I go through the day memories of her little behaviors that showed how devoted she was to me are bittersweet but prove that she lived a loved life. I will pray that your pain eases and you can smile again in remembrance.

I’m so sorry, Steve. Thumper sounds like a super cat and member of the family. It’s so hard to lose our furry members. My husband and I have had many dogs and some cats throughout our lifetime. We lost our best, Annie, about a year ago. And because of our age and health problems, we knew she was to be our last. It still hurts not to have a dog around, particularly as we have very few friends. No one will replace Thumper, of course, but be encouraged that when the time is right, you can get another cat and another hopefully 20 years of new adventure awaits you. This, too, will pass, but your amazing memories if an incredible cat will be yours to treasure forever.

Much love, I understand what you're going through. I had to put my Tawnee, AKA Tawny One, to sleep almost two years ago. She was 18 and had kidney failure. I had given her fluids under her skin for six months, but when she quit eating and didn't want to be on me--where she always was--I knew it was time to say goodbye. I had jokingly told my mom that I was going to get two kittens when I had to say goodbye to Tawnee, and about two weeks after she died I found a tiny yellow kitten crying in my yard. I took him in and bottle fed him and ended up with one of his litter mates as well. The joy they've brought has definitely eased the pain of losing my Tawny One.

I am so sorry for your loss! My husband and I had to make the same, extremely difficult, decision almost two years ago with our 16.5 year old mini schnauzer, Sasha. She joined our family at 8 weeks old and quickly became the queen! She was my constant companion. I work from home so she was with me all day and slept in between my husband and me at night. Losing her was one of the most difficult things we have ever gone through, so completely understand. Much love and prayers to you and the family. Give yourself the time to grieve! Crying with you. Our daughter and son in law had to put down their Golden Lab a month ago. When they weren’t home he would find a way out the door and would often come over to “Grandmas house.” He would open our door and walk right in. He was a people dog and didn’t like being alone. We miss him so much. He was such a sweetie. Very cute video at the end. I know he was comforting to have him sleep with you. 💕

I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet kitty, when you said "Good night Thumper" I started crying. Our little 12 year old dog Nibbles has a bad heart murmer, and enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. I give him medication twice a day and he is doing pretty well, but we know he is living on borrowed time and we are so grateful for every added good day. Thank God for softies like you and my husband! Y'all make the world a better place.

I'm so sorry you're hurting! It means he was very much a loved & cherished family member. So many pets don't get that kind of devotion. 😢 My heart goes out to you & your family. Trust that I shed many tears during the video, & unfortunately understand your deep sense of loss. The ending had me laughing, but with an ache in my heart.... because I've been there (most recently in 2018 with my Doberman- cancer, 2021 with my Great Dane- cancer, & 2022 with my other Doberman-DCM). My heart hurts for you all, but thank you for not making Thumper suffer once it became apparent he was not going to get "better". He stayed within 5' of me for almost 13 years. I felt the same guilt about making the choice to let him go to where he would no longer feel pain. Awe Steve. My heart goes out to you. My dog was 17 years old when I had to put him down a few years ago. I can still cry about it. He tried to please me until the end. I am so sorry. They are your family. I was and still feel very guilty. I never watched Marly and me or any other dog shows because I just start crying. You were his human. That alone says a lot.

Our 14 YR West Highland terrier did the same thing, she wouldn’t eat and after 8 days of struggling to get any food down her we decided we couldn’t let her go this way. We called a kind vet who came to our home and we held her as she took her last breath. And with our 18 YO deaf cat we knew he was going so we tried keeping him inside to keep an eye on him but somehow he made it outside, left and never returned. We walked and looked and looked but he was deaf so we knew he couldn’t hear our calls. We take comfort in that we know he went on his terms. I’m so sorry for your loss. Take as much time as you need. Your followers will be waiting. I had to make the same decision about my sweet horse two years ago. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I ended up writing a song about him in the breezeway of my barn that day. I still cry sometimes thinking about him or even seeing a movie or video of another horse that looked like him would make me tear up or cry. It’s ok to mourn. It’s part of the healing process. My prayers are with you and your family. May Gods love surround you with healing and comfort. ❤❤❤

I'm so sorry for your loss, Steve. They find a way to let us know when the time is right. We lost our 16-year-old a few years back and our 20-year-old almost a year ago to the day. We adopted a new rescue kitty in November and that helps, but we still mourn our fur babies. And please don't apologize for showing your emotions. I was crying right along with you. 😢

Fully understand your heart and your pain. We had to put down our calico baby girl at 10 last March from cancer, one of our boys at 15 this March from kidney failure, a third has cancer and is doing well on steroids, but we don't know how long he has. Now we have a 4th one that is rapidly losing weight and they found some sort of tumor and he's having surgery next week. He's one of 2 brothers of the calico we lost last year and the one I use as my profile pic. Been really difficult this past year. Much love and prayers to you and the family.

I can relate. Had to make that decision last October. Waldo started doing the same things, not eating etc. Swore, no more cats. It hurt too much. Then 2 weeks before Christmas our dog alerted to the back door at 2am. Turned on the light and there was about a 6 week old kitten, starving. Long story short, she lives with us now. God works in mysterious ways. It does get easier. Hang in there.

I'm so sorry. I've been there myself and it just rips you apart so much, especially when you have to make that decision. My Tigger would wait for me to go to bed and then he'd curl up beside me on my arm and kneed my armpit and purr so loudly the bed would kind of vibrate. Keeping you and Thumper in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss of a precious beloved pet. We had to do the same for one of our kitty kids last year. It's never easy making that type of decision. We will always have precious memories to hang on to. When I was younger, I actually had a cat that looked exactly like Thumper. Very beautiful shinny grey fur. She liked to steal mushrooms and olives off my pizza and liked to sleep around my neck like a scarf.🙂

My heart goes out to you. I know how it feels to lose your animal companion, especially one you are so deeply bonded with. I lost my favorite cat who passed away nearly two years ago and my heart is still broken over it. ((HUGS)) It really put a damper on my mood and has effected my channel too. You take all the time you need and we'll be here for you.

It's wonderful you were together for 20 years. And it's obvious how much you love him. I've had dogs and cats my whole life (68 years so far). They always go, fast or slow, old or young, foreseen or out of the blue, it all sucks. It' the price for their companionship and love, and I'll keep paying it because it's so wonderful to live with animals. My heart goes out to you and your family. Of course take all the time you need.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I completely understand what you mean. When my cat Snickers passed at 16 years last October, I was a wreck for a good while and still get choked up thinking of him. I'm sure Thumper knew how much you loved him. He clearly loved you too.
