Totally murders the part at 1:58, and not in a good way. Rest of the band must have been sweating bullets during that. This is not an easy song though and I can tell this guy is a pretty good drummer. He should have made sure he could play everything in the song first.

Ficou bom mas o batera acelerou o andamento na segunda parte...geralmente isso acontece quando a gente acaba cansando então perdemos a noção (toco batera e sei como é)

There are many metal drummers that use only one tom. Generally it's more difficult because you need to be more creative if you don't want to be boring playing
