Nikhil Kumar we have downgraded our players. No one has yet come to replace the 2 Ws. Saeed Anwar or Rashid Latif behind stumps. You have found Kohli and Sharma to replace Tendulkar and Sehwag. Heck.. Kohli can play either like Tendulkar or Dravid depending on the situation. Mohd Amir bowls 50% of Wasim Akram once in 5 matches.. 😂

They say Jaya Suriya its who played aerial shots in 1996 and Great batch played aerial strokes in 1992... World cups but in my opinion Saeed Anwar was the first player to play aerial shots in 1990 for testimony I suggest watch His innings at Adelaide in 1990 Saeed Played like the current modern day cricketer... Undoubtedly the Greatest of the Greats he was indeed and a very Humble man very grounded very simple person

People remember the start of power hitting at the top of the order to have started in the mid nineties by Jayasuria, Kaluwitarana and Afridi etc., but this man, Anwar was the true pioneer of power hitting at the top of the order and was already doing it in the late eighties and early nineties. Later on, he settled into a much stable, consistent and a world class legendary opener.

One of the best and dangerous left handers of that times..I still remember his knock of 194 against India, he was thrashing the bowlers like anything.. Those were worst days of Indian Cricket.. I will count him in the first 5 top batsmen of that time..

But it was unfortunate that his daughter passed away when he was playing a test match. And that was the time when he said good bye to his career. One of my favorite teenage memory is Anwar's false flick in 96 quarter final which went high towards mid-on off Srinath's bowling. Kumble was Fielding there and it seemed that time had stopped.Srinath had his arms high in air pleading to Kumble not to drop it, so was I, so was rest of India. What a moment.......If Kumble had dropped it and Saeed had stayed 10 more overs the match would have been over. It would have been an innings like Sachin played in 2003 WC where Razzaq dropped him off Akram at mid-off......great times, great cricket

No doubt Anwar always better than Sachin. He was Engineer by profession and accidently came into Cricket and had a tragedy of his daughter's sudden death which made him an early retirement from cricket. He didnt even play 250 ODIs.

Saeed Anwer started playing cricket too late after his intermediate..he was God gifted batsman, at his early days some seniors players, so called analyst didn't like him due to his strocks playin in air..he got settled in the team after laps of 6 golden years..first odi in 1988..and become permanent member in 1994..

For a country which produced the worst batsman ..saaed Anwar was a gem..just classy.. sheer class..rarity to see that from pakistani batsman who believe in believe In hit n run strategy..saaed Anwar was delightful batsman..all time greats of pakistan along with inzamam.

Worst? Faizal Mahmood, Haneef Mohammed, Miandad, Zaheer Abbas Anwar, Inzi, Younis, Yousuf, Misbah. Just to name a few legends. Batsmen aren't that rare, it is the era we live in where the batting order is a struggle for Pakistan. But right now Pakistan is going good with Fakhar, Baber etc.

The unusual thing is Indians never appreciate a Pakistani cricketer when he is playing for Pakistan once he retires they come out their holes and glorify him like never before. Still remember not one person clapped when he thrashed Indian bowling in Bangalore Quarter Final 1996, indians always brought the best out of Anwar one of the greatest openers i've ever watched.
