The real one has slight give when the fork is attached to the mount……I guess I’ve been using fake ones for awhile and they have always been great. Damn I thought I had it backwards.
Thank you for the information I buy a lot of Safariland products and I just purchased the new rig that you have it have not arrived yet, but I will be on the lookout for the fake one. Your information is very valuable, and helpful !
I bought most my safariland parts direct from safariland, they run pretty good sales on occasionally for like black friday and it'll be cheaper than amazon
@@fiddle24v it's certainly a fantastic system, thought the OG is INFINITELY more durable than the cheap plastic made in the fake. Like, the original is meant to handle extreme temperatures on top of being durable enough for American troops overseas to use in hardcore situations. I like my QLS set up quite a lot. It allows me to store my gun in my safe and it allows me to much more easily store my belt. I even can swap pistols with my buddies if I ever want to. I get that you're going to get a cheapo one to try out, but if you like the system enough, buy an original set from a company called "T.REX arms", they ship real QLS forks and adapters, as well as a UBL midride for the setup.
So, interesting... a couple guys I know literally ordered oem from safariland and it has the item above without the markings in the couple locations. Mine i got new ways back in a large order and it has the pat num deal and all. This is totally weird. I'd really love to see what safariland has to say.
@@FloridaMan762 That's not fake - it's just the older production run. That's why the packaging is different. The sticker on the back indicates it was sold out of China. Safariland products are made in Mexico in any case...
I've been going crazy with this. I got one from Amazon that is glossy and the push pins marks are in different spots from the sets I already have so, I thought it was a fake. I just received one from optics planet that looks identical. Glossy material and no logo on the inside of the receiver plate like there used to be. Safariland must have changed their material, the design and the molds that produce the parts. Now I don't know what to think. I guess just use them all. lol
I wish I would have watched this before I ordered the fake off Amazon. I tried using my real QLS forks I have from TREX arms and they are too long resulting in slop with the fake receiver. I guess I should have known since it was only $19 vs $35. I'm gonna keep the fake since I'm only using it on a USPSA rig. NO way I'd use the fake for real life situations.
Id be interested in safarilands comment. If they will test he fake vs real. Considering many small depts will have officers cheap out on deals. Scary if it is not as strong as oem
