The DIY is why I have watched your channel from nearly the beginning. Just lean into it. As a matter of fact, I bought a boat to refit, and I am now rewatching some of the videos multiple times to see what you have done and what products you used over the years. I never rewatch lifestyle sailing channels; they're just too boring.

1000% agree with you on DIY vs cruising. In fact I stop watching channels when they're done building because quite honestly watching people cruise around is boring to me. Keep up the DIY stuff. It's what brings me back to watch and stay subscribed. Future boat build?? Can't wait to see what that might bring! You do good work.

Your channel started as a DIY boat channel & it was good as a DYI. While I imagine many of your followers thought that it would always stay a DYI build channel, it was great to see you realize your dream & finally get under way. The addition of Ava made a huge increase in content and balanced out you & your channel. There is no need to apologize for having an all DYI episode.

I watch a few (3) sailing channels, only because they were building /rebuilding their boats. I have sailed since I was 15, now 62. I love boats, but I love a craftsman even more. This is the best of both worlds. Besides, I have loved Denmark since I was in Aalborg in 84 with the NATO fleet. Keep doing what you do, Mads, we're just along for the ride. 😃

I think DIY boat videos are great, it’s incredible the amount of things to do in that reduced space and how it all could be improved and upgrade. By the way there’s a channel called RTA Fabrication that shows extremely well how to do carbón forged parts and how it works all the release pins to extract the pieces from the molds

Mads, you started your channel back on August 18, 2013, doing DIY aboard Obelix, and I have been watching ever since. (Seems so long ago, doesn't it? Back when you had hair atop your head! 😂) And I, for one, have learned so much from your experiences that I'll be able to use on my boat's refit. Please, don't apologize for doing something you love, have become skilled at, and have been willing to share with us! I am grateful for all the time and effort you have spent in the repair/refit of both boats, and the documenting of it all to share with us. Looking forward with enthusiasm for what your future holds!

Mads, please be safe. Carbon fiber sanding and drilling requires the use of a mask to prevent it from lodging in your lungs. Also a vacuum would be a good idea to keep it from getting airborne and settling around the boat. Otherwise it can get in your lungs when air flow gets it airborne again.

I agree with you the crusing vlogs, I much prefer a more diy laden vlog. I've actually stopped watching some creators when they finish projects and go out sailing full time. I'm so glad you've kept a great balance of both on your adventures. I also like that you guys don't "click bait " like so many others. No episodes of "WE'RE GOING TO LOSE THE BOAT." I've been watching since I believe episode 5 or 6, and it's always been great content and always entertaining. Who knew I'd learn to swear in Danish from an electronics expert. Lol. Another tip for mold designing for forged composites. Split the "female" half into multiple parts. This will eliminate the need for an ejector pin and make demolding much easier. It does mean making the mold a little larger and incorporating holes to put bolts through in order to get it all to stay together, but it means less violence :). Easy composites actually just did a video a few days ago on this exact process (in fact, when i saw the thumbnail for this video I assumed that was an inspiration for this video)

I follow a lot of sailing channels. Most of the time its because I like to see where they go. Though truth be told I like to see the challenges they face. I keep hearing that cruising is all about getting to fix your boat in exotic locations, and from what I have seen that is true. Though most of those exotic locations don't always have the exact parts or tools you need to do the job. It's fun to watch the various DIY, or McGuyver like, solutions they come up with. So there is no need to appoligize for you DIY heavy content that I'm sure is what keeps bringing a lot of us back.
