Honestly jagex you should allow players to unlock shamanism from sailing once you reach a certain level you are exeperienced enough to make voyages out to more dangerous waters or by going to different islands you discover messages in bottles hinting at an npc who got lost at sea and that they came into contact with the tribe. It would be a good way to introduce new civilisations and after doing tasks or quests (similar to how the kourend favour system works but ideally reworked) they then trust you enough to teach you about shamanism and the other tribes can teach you about taming for example

will old quests be updated to give sailing xp? Like Dragon Hunter I, Bone Voyage, and Cabin Fever, for example

This is just boat slayer/skilling boat slayer or boat agility. How did the community pick the least skill skill out of the 3? I'm sorry but this just makes my fear a reality of this blog. Another non skill being being added to the game.

You know how Dungeoneering was added as a skill but it's really just a minigame? That's what Sailing is. Don't get me wrong, I really like how this is looking and I know I'm going to enjoy it a LOT, but this is another minigame disguised as a skill.
