Sailing Greece, Is it a great place to sail? 

Excellent series Greece is amazing the water was very blue and clear. The food seems to look good ,the crew was excellent especially with Gee, she is so lively and funny, cute and friendly.

Thanks for this!! Great info! Yeah, totally agree - I'm english (yes, small 'e') and shot ourselves in both feet with our delusion and brexit. As a sailor approaching retirement, this is a real option between Greece and Turkey for most of the year. I'd love to live out my time out of this country and we are heading to Pelaponnese this summer to check it out! Check out an English sailor who now lives between Med, Caribbean and France and has written cruising books on all of these regions - 'Sailing Gently'. Thanks for the great info and insight! The one criticism l may have is the crews that come on board to enjoy cruising with you, almost two thirds of them don’t help out, ie docking or undocking, it was extremely evident on the last charter, it was when Geraldine joined you that you had reliable crew on the bow operating the anchor & watching mooring lines or helping out with the stern lines, she was a massive asset in more ways than one !!! You need to make it clear to crews that it’s a working environment & it can be dangerous if the crew are not looking for a problem should it arise, you my friend were working your nuts off before Geraldine arrived, the videos are fantastic & l enjoy being on board with you, but not necessarily all of your crew !!!!!!!!!!

Great coverage of sailing in the Greek Islands, as a skipper chartering yachts in the Greek Islands for over 20 years a couple of points that would be of interest to your viewers are, most of the Mediterranean especially the Greek Islands there is very little tidal range if any which makes mooring a yacht and leaving it while you sight see a big plus, also the compass variation is nay about 1or 2 degree so your heading is usually where you point the boat. I might add that most of my charters started in Athens or Lefkas. Each charter was at least 3 weeks / 4 weeks usually from Athens across the Aegean to Rhodes, giving clients a good look at the famous and not so famous islands along the way. I also sometimes spend the whole season skippering for the charter company and doing relocates when clients do a one way charter. As I live in NZ, most of my clients have been Kiwis or Australians, although I have had Groups from the US and Canada. In conclusion my favourite island would have to be Symi, over near Turkish coast, and of course Rhodes. But that’s just my opinion. I am now retired but I still assist groups to put together a sailing itinerary and plan, but the world is an ever changing animal so when planning your Greek Sailing Holidays try and pick the brain of someone who has been there. Ok 67k euros 49 years old from Canada. It’s just me only sailed once. I live on a small island so I do operate a boat more than a Car. Can I go to Greece or close to Greece purchase sailboat live on it purchase food at markets eat out occasionally for a year
