Thanks for sharing. I totally agree, close hauled against the current can be a mental challenge. :) That is the only time I ponder the virtues of a fin keel.

Hi Christopher, I might post another video of just the tiller pilot to wind vane set up. I thought it might be a bit dry to include that in a `general sailing' video. But in short, the tiller pilot is mounted so it is in a stable position. instead of attaching the drive-arm to the tiller, a rope is attached to the drive-arm which is attached to one side of the clamp that holds the wind vane. A shock cord is used on the other side of the wind vane clamp to act as resistance and hold the wind vane clamp vertical. It sounds more complicated in words than it actually is, as it is really quite simple once set up. I had good results with it although depending on the course and sea state the tiller pilot will need to be adjusted in sensitivity to manage course deviations.

@@littlewing.ws32 Thanks for the detailed reply. Perhaps a short video showing the set up? Does seem fairly simple. Addition of a few pulleys in key locations? I have a rather old Master Tiller.
