That's kinda what I feel watching this. A lot of the characters look rather plain or are maids. Doesn't mean they play poorly, but unless you have a partialness for the maid getup it's somewhat hard to find someone you would like if they don't look neat.
@@notimeforcreativenamesjust3034 I've no doubts you would. I stated they'd likely play well, but the aesthetic for a lot of characters here is off-putting or failing that, somewhat samey across a lot of the cast.
@@fevierenie671 I dont know man Ryu's been fighting the dark hado since street fighter 2. Once you get a taste its really hard to get that unga outta your bunga.
@@Stryfe52 Yep yep. "Immaterial and Missing Power" as well as "Scarlet Weather Rhapsody", there are probably more that I don't know about because I don't follow Touhou a whole lot.
It just so happens that Tsukihime has characters that fit amazingly in a fighting game. Certainly they fit the best out of every other visual novel character.
She automatically got 50 awesome points from me just for ignoring the meta of most of the other female characters and choosing to wear something practical to fight in. Sion & Miyako seem to be the only other ones to wear something halfway practical to fight in.
@@LordNanfoodle As much as i love Aoko, i don't really know if i would call jeans "practical" for fighting. They tend to be pretty stiff and tight, so most types would actually be rather restrictive.
The simplest character is probably F-Riesbyfe, very footsie oriented and deals stupid damage for super basic A B C 236A/C combos, though she lacks mobility in a game that is all about it, so it's hard to get in.
I kid you not, I was introduced to this game and started playing just yesterday, so this could be pretty interesting. I've been in the character selection process these two days pretty much for the first time, and I've ultimately decided to stick with Aoko, for the time being at least.
Two versions of the game on pc. The official steam version and the community C-caster version which is a bootleg. The community uses the c caster version because it has rollback netcode which the steam version doesn't. However offline tournaments use the official version to show support
Tbf i don't play the game myself so from a perspective of a newcomer only female that looks dope for me is Riesbyfe Stridberg, Powered Ciel is a strong second
@@Freefork i mean idk maybe i would play her lol since i have some experience with characters who just do goofy shit like Lowain from GBVS and Ginyu but i understand why Sajam wouldn't go for her since it's not his taste per say
The Nasuverse is a pretty big waifu universe, there's like bagillion of them just from Fate Grand Order alone. And as long as that game keeps making a bagillion dollars every year, there's gonna be a bagillion more waifus to come.
@@bobjones4469 Yeah but do any of those waifu's have this level of retro gaming skill? Didn't think so. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FrNz74zRlkI.html
@@AkiRa22084 Mainly because I don't have any friends who play it. Usually when I don't have friends to play with, I just go on whatever ranked or casual matches are available, but because of the lack of those I've never felt to motivated. But I'd be open to getting into it.
Riesbyfe Stridberg? That can't be a character, that's a missing sandwich from your tier list I could only describe her weapon to my wife as a "cello sword gun"
We'll get you to play H Ryougi and do some crazy knife shit eventually sajam. now that you're playing hime girls are real characters again so you won't skip her like last time
Love your reactions to the characters xD. Just tried Melty Blood as my first fighting game (Iam more of an rpg type of guy). but since i already enjoy typemoon lore, iam having a blast.
Sajam, besides choosing characters he likes playing, wants to choose characters he’s likely to see played in tournaments. That way he can be more effective as an Analyst when watching matches.
Sajam: "does this game have a tu-" *music* Sajam: "yo this song slaps" Sajam: "so anyway, does this gam-" *dash* Sajam: "WHOOAAAA" Okay fr tho sajam the game DOES have a tutorial for the caster version, in the /help folder of the community edition
As an Aoko main, I felt like Sajam spitted on me when he tested her out and did like 2 moves and then changed characters lol It's alright, If a character isn't for you then it isn't. He should try out any of the Akiha versions tho. I use Vermillion (Red hair Akiha) as my secondary main. she has that Akuma kind of thing where she has low defense but absurd damage with just normal bnb's that most of the cast can do, specially full moon and she can use "heat" attacks for pressure and mixups. Her buttons are decent as well and her overall movement is one of the best in the game imo. Tho Go1 uses the regular Tohno Akiha in tournaments, she seems to be more of an all rounder regarding defense, movement and damage output compared to the younger version and the Vermillion version.
melty blood reminds me of skullgirls because they are both great fighting games that didn't get the attention they deserved. I'm pretty sure skullgirls came out during evo so everyone only was paying to street fighter and shit like that instead of skullgirls
@@FishHookEXE Thx for the info fam. Underrated fighting games like FEXL deserve more recognition from FGC. So hopefully people like J.Wong, Sajam, Maximillian, Smug, UltraChen, Vesper Arcade, etc can help the game to get better spotlight.
@@thepuppetmaster9284 No worries! I havent tried FEXL yet myself, but I'm always down for lesser known games getting their time in the sun, especially with that GOOOOOOD netcode. :)
@@FishHookEXE Oh man, the rollback netcode in FEXL is just awesome. I live in Southeast Asia and i can't believe i had smooth matches with players from UK, Netherland, and even USA. There was a couple of lags here and there but still tolerable. I really reccomend FEXL, although it's kinda lack in content. But if you enjoyed SF EX back in PS1 / PS2 or wants to try something new then i say go for it.
1:45 Sajams 3 Step to choosing a character 1. Who looks cool? 2. Who is simple and strong? 3. Fuck all that, play who looks the coolest! >:3 This man I can trust.
u should play c seifu, she has godlike set play prolly second only to kohaku and super simple combos and neutral/gameplay. Also she’s like top 10 in the game for sure maybe top 5
roastbeef I mean riese grabbed my attention when I first played the game turns out shes the character for me a rush down bully with a pile bunker. with a pocket aoko. hope this game gets ported to ps4
I appreciate games that have lots of aesthetic options. I think people should pick characters they like and get really good at them. ...but I'm still a noob so maybe I'll change my mind later?
Nah, that's a good mindset to have, just generally. You can minmax your time/effort by picking a strong character right out of the box regardless of whether you like them or not, but it might lack a certain satisfaction that your true main can give you.
Since it's somewhat related, I want to mention here that there's one thing this game does about colors that I really like - for most characters, the colors in the last color page don't change their hair, skin, eye etc. color, they're all "the same person with different clothes".
I'll make the guess that Hime is some kind of antagonist in the LN. I mean, I've seen stuff from Type-moon and blond hair + red eyes + yellow magic? Those are major red flags lol
@@gabriel4454-c7c Spoilers for Tsukihime (the VN where 80% of Melty characters come from) She doesn't really have much of a personality or emotions since she was created to be a killing machine of sorts by the True Ancestors, but she can't be considered a villain due to not existing during Tsukihime. Archetype:Earth is the past form of Arcueid Brunestud (one of the main heroines of Tsukihime) before she gave in to her vampiric urges for the first time and sucked the blood of Roa. She can be considered the 'true' Princess of the True Ancestors (the original race of vampires created by the planet itself, who all have reality bending powers, and are all exctinct except for Arc.) and is her strongest form, being one of the top 5 strongest characters in all of Type-Moon. This version of Arc existed hundreds of years prior to the events of Tsukihime, so she can't really be considered too majorly important to the plot. TLDR she doesn't have much of a personality, and she isn't much of an important character since she doesn't appear much in the VN. Sorry for the essay, I know you wanted a short explanation but I got carried away.
I play Tohno and Nanaya cuz im into being the boring main dude because Im the boring main dude in my own life. Tho Nanaya is cool and not boring. I like Ryogi but shes a marysue author fav.
archtype earth is for sure the footsie control neutral spacing queen of the game. I play her and mech-hisui. Yeah I love to play lame and zone soo what? haha
There's an anime movie with the same song. If you want to hear it and see Jiyuna vs. Obama: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fYx3mQvb7x4.html
That stage ("and nothing heart") is only available in the original MBAA, every subsequent update and port removed it. The song belongs to Yuki Kajiura as a remix of the main theme of Kara no Kyoukai. There are... ways to get it back into MBAACC. Can look up MBAA kara no kyoukai to listen
