I've noticed that older shows tend to have more frequent background animation, they might have limited character animation, but animated zooms, rotations with background, etc just pop up more for some reason
Hey man, gotta say that your content is getting better and better. Love this random section about animation related topics. Truly aprecciate how you talk about the basics but keep it simple and understandable for almost everyone.
Gorgeous, hilarious, and interesting are the words that come to my mind when I want to describe this video, for a RU-vidr with so few subs your videos are super underrated and full of knowledge and overall just good and logical takes, keep up the good work my friend. P.S. I love the accent, Never change.
'Don't. Pause. Anime' Truer words have never been said. Took me a while to appreciate stylised 'Turbulent Cartoon Anime-ation' But Once you get past the initial 'whaaaa' moment you realise that in an artform that is one of the oldest in the world, people are still finding ways to innovate in such an established medium, and use it as their playground. And that should be celebrated. Also if you don't like it, probably don't watch any One Piece fight with Luffy from here-on out
I mean there is something called squash and stretch, and it really comes down to how well executed it is. There are some anime that fails in this as you can already see the bad frames in action which is not good animation as its supposed to be very subtly and unnoticed. In the case of one piece its inconsistent since some of the new stuff is very forced and rushed where the details take a lot of hit just to gain some extra fluidity.
@@WieldMyWord Have you ever seen a looney toons cartoon in your life? Squash and stretch is not "supposed" to be always super subtle and unnoticable. One piece is not forced or rushed, they *want* it to look like that. If you personally dislike the style thats more than fine, but it is their artistic intent for the animation to look that way.
6:45 Yeah but it's also because it's a large creature that tend to move slowly, requiring a lot of in-between frames making the use of 3D really appealing.
It’s so funny to me that you have exactly the face that I thought you would have from watching your videos and listening to your voice! 🤣 (I really like your videos!) Keep the good work.
I've been struggling with background animation and was thinking of tracing, and now after this video I'm thinking of just focusing on background movement and then animate the character and effects
I don't know if I want part 7. The moment it is announced everybody's gonna be bitting his nails out of the sheer tension of not knowing how horses gonna be animated.
what are your thoughts on the newest elusive samurai episode? i usually am a CG anime defender but i think the cg (on the older guy with bulging eyes especially) looked awful. the main guy’s looked solid, but yeah there wasn’t really anything special this episode. the storyboarding was the first episode so far that i felt was flat, and there was a shocking abundance of one frame stills with mouths moving. not awful to look at, but a huge downgrade imo. hopefully it’s just a low priority episode and not a sign of things to come.
Now that you have a face cam I respect your opinion more. Maybes it cause you’re not just a disembodied voice, or because it takes confidence to put your appearance out there, or maybe it just makes you less pretentious. Who knows
I’d argue that’s not necessarily bad. Given their character designs are so polished. One piece is praised lately but the switch when doing there 2 Min or so of good animation per ep and people flip and praise them on the mountain tops but the rest they use a lot of padded shots and stuff scenes or repeat running. There still great with every character looking unique and so on. But those same people will cry jjk or chainsawman is trash animation cause the studio didn’t give workers breaks? Not sure if people forget that even if they finish a project they don’t just go into work and say good job next month off at any animation studio. You work at a job. Over working is the issue though and expecting too much in little time which I think is also the fans and haters fault. Haters complain animation is bad but complain if their shows are delayed for good animation such as the aot fiasco. Don’t give me why did they name it that way. You can ignore it. You know how my pal who’s watching aot first time binge feels about delays. Nothing like most in future will. They do however notice animation drops or padding in eps. All thinks avoided when they delay and named it final for hype watching.
No sports? Just Shonen? Come on man I’m pretty sure everyone saw all of these clips. It’s Sakuga in a lot of other genres bro. Stop just picking action Shōnen. Oblivion Battery ( sport ) just finished airing and the amount of movement/sakuga is insane. Expand to other genres bro.
To be fair he mentioned in a video he just started getting into anime and didnt watch it as a kid. So he might not be up on ever series and he prefers using examples from series he knows about. Respectable given others chase clout and insert whatever is popular and crap on anything not. Though He speed ran the I’m no longer into shonen as much thing people with noses in the air do lol😂 and prefers slice of life. He’s atleast respectful mostly unlike most fans who jump at the chance to call all popular shonen mid and generic slop with no story or immature etc. it’s like the elitism you see about liking super hero films after super hero fans fought so hard to be popular once they became popular their own fanbase became the villains who made fun of them. lol. On that note anime is popular and now gate keepers are making it toxic.
