Exactly what I was thinking (but did not feel like asking Salomon): when's Kilian next attempt? They did not mention him at all for the development of the shoe (mostly tested by Pro runner Sebastien Spehler). Thanks a lot for the nice comment Soti, much appreciated ! :-)

I think the dual layer trainer will be up my alley. The dual layer but same type and firmness in the top end shoe seems like a waste and Gina tried that in the first Carbon X which had a firm top layer and firm outsole layer and it didn’t work for most people. The update Carbon X2 was much better because of the different firmnesses of the foam layers. I’m definitely interested in the trainer and how it will work for my mechanics. Look forward to your review of that shoe. Great job as always and hope Mary has done well in her race!!💪💪💪👊👊👊

Hope Mary's first marathon went very well. If the new line up is available just for spring races, what kind of other shoes/brand have a similar feel/ride in order to put some sensible training before racing in Salomon?. Also does the pulsar has a similar feel? Thank you.

Thanks for the breakdown! It's great to see Salomon making some big additions to their road shoe lineup. A question though, are all these upcoming shoes scheduled for the early 2022 release that you mentioned or was that just the phantasm cf?

Excellent question. All the shoes are scheduled for an April release with some early pairs being available as of February (depending of course on how production capacities are in Asia).

Definitely an interesting shoe. Unsolicited editing feedback - i think the video would be stronger just getting right into it, instead of doing the "clip of the review" bit as the intro like SJD. Anyway. Take that as you will! Cheers.

I highly appreciate your feedback and I actually think that the strength of a channel comes from taking into account such feedback :-) I'm considering another "intro" animation with some actual clips and yes indeed maybe removing the "clip of the review" bit inspired from SJD :-) Thank you!!

How wide is the middle range versions? The Phantasm.

Just a bit wider in the heel, the rest is similar which means (no measurements to confirm) that it'll have an average plateform width but a snug forefoot and midfoot fit

I miss Paris . If i can ever go back (post covid) , im going straight, and stuff myself at Chez Denise. Anyway i wonder if the cushioning will last as you put more miles on them? Would you also say its as firm as the Magic Speed?

Never heard of that place but Paris is indeed full of good restaurants :-) It's not as firm as the Magic Speed. Quite softer actually. My guess is that it would have a durometer of about 32/35. The plate is quite rigid though but again hard to be conclusive on a short test like that.

@@AlexFilitti so far i like the magic speed and if the forefoot was a tiny bit softer (really just a tiny more give ) ........it would be perfect for me . Looks like this is the best contender

Sounds great, but as long as it's not Peba/Pebax or the Nylon/TPU infusion of adios and metaspeed it's feels like a waste of energy and time from the company?

Good question but I disagree to a certain extent. Of course those super foams are mega performant but geometry (here the rocker), shape and material of the plate, and purpose also play a big role in the success of a shoe. Will this one win major marathons? Likely not. Will it crush other distances (both shorter and longer with different athletes) ? Yes, I think so.
