You should do a video of your idea perfect daily trainer (Ie midsole of the beacon and upper of the Asics Novablast etc) and ideal race day shoe components! That would be interesting to watch!
I think you could add the Puma Deviate Nitro to the list of other shoes to buy. The plate in the Deviate is a carbon composite plate (not true carbon fiber). Update on that: the Deviate Nitro did get a minor, yet useful update from your review. They added some padding inside the heel counter which reduced rubbing and gives the Deviate a better lockdown and comfort.
So I'm on vacation on Vermont and there was just a 50k trail race at the lodge I'm at. It was really cool to watch and I saw so many trail shoes it was awesome. Have a nice day DGR
Hey Seth, whatever you are wearing you are just killing it! ...And I'd like to be fluent in Italian, I looooove the accent it's like music to my ears like for example when they say "bellissima".😍 Onward and upward! Dgr strong and happy weekend everyone!❤😎
Am I the only one wondering that adidas adios pro 3 is 200 grams in us 7.5 and the salomon is is 214 grams When they are almost the same in size 9 ( 2 gram difference)
Carbon composites and "carbon fibre" are the same thing. They are all composites - meaning they are made of two materials. carbon fibre composites have a polymer matrix with reinforcement from embedded chains of carbon atoms(carbon fibres). Hence they are called carbon fibre or carbon composites for short
QD Greek. So I could speak to my partner's family next time we visit Greece. I'd love to run the marathon in Athens and finish in the 1896 Olympic Stadium. Brutal course though.
I am fluent in German, Spanish and English and I guess I would choose Italian (my neighbor country) or Portuguese. I just love languages and the doors they open. GREETINGS FROM SALZBURG/AUSTRIA!!!
QOD: I always wanted to be fluent in Spanish. I had taken Spanish classes from 8-12th grade, but for whatever reason the way language is taught in public school just didn’t work for me. I was only able to retain enough to be able to communicate in the most basic of scenarios and then after grade school I did not continue and have since lost what little I did know. If only I could learn and retain a foreign language as easily as I picked up and excelled at running 😂
Hey Seth and family. Loving the content as always. Off of your recommendation I’ve brought the Salomon ultra glide and wow. They are they are great. They honestly suit me better than anything I’ve ever put on my foot. My question is, what road shoe may feel the same/similar to these? For running up to marathon distance.
You’d be looking for the up coming release of the Salomon Glide Max. It is essentially the road version of the Ultra Glide, and has gotten great reviews from believe in the run. Seth hasn’t gotten to that one yet unfortunately! “So many shoes so little time!”
QD: So many options for another language to be fluent in but if I could, I would love to be fluent in French. It’s always been a dream to run in the alps, go to Chamonix, and maybe even run UTMB someday after I’m done running in college!
I demo'd the Ciele Phantasm and had to go a half size down because of the slipping. My personal Sense Ride 4s are also half size down. Something different about Salomons sizing.
Any carbon fiber in a shoe will be a composite. Salomon is just being more honest than Nike or Saucony or whoever else is telling you they're using a "carbon fiber" plate. Carbon Fiber is made of literal fibers. They're not rigid. Possibly what Salomon means is carbon reinforced plastic - which is basically nylon/plastic resin mixed with carbon fibers that's injection molded into the shape they want. That would explain it being less rigid (and possibly heavier). There isn't much benefit to putting carbon fibers into plastic resin over the plastic itself. There's no way to orient the fibers and they're typically extremely short. But, you can say you have "carbon fiber" in your doodad - whether it's a shoe or a watch case or a steering wheel or whatever.
So much potential but agree that this shoe disappoints! The upper and heel counter make for a sloppy fit. Using as a road to trail shoe now on non-technical buffed trails. Overpriced! So many superior options.
