What an interesting morning this was with the Salt River Wild Horses and some good people who also photograph and watch out for the horses. PLEASE TURN UP THE SOUND and listen to the 2 bands of horses solve the morning mysteries; Where is my foal?, Who's little one is this?, and Where is my Mom?
Please feel free to share!

Thank you very much for not cutting this footage because I also didn't want to miss a thing! Thank you very much for having filmed and shared this video. I really liked how you explained the horse behavior of the stallion. That foal wont over sleep next time :-)

Watching this again 7 years later and it was just as stressful to watch, even though I knew the outcome.

Geez. I wonder why the stallions decided to move the herd out of the area?
@jollyoneful
@jollyoneful 5 лет назад
He thought it was time they headed for water but they could have gone back to the area for her. At least it ended well and was so interesting to see and hear it play out. Thanks for the comment.

@@jollyoneful And now it seems that people have moved them away from their cool, tree-shaded river and eel-grass forage, away from the lake, where they had every legal right to be, into the hot, dry desert, without shade, to be fed by man, to be made dependent on man. They have insufficient water, and their lives are at serious risk. I weep for Arizona's Salt River wild horses, for whom the river is only a memory, who are also losing their wildness, by the constructs of man. See facebook-salt river wild horses-exposing the truth. The evidence is there.

@@cacatr4495 ..I agree human activity made them leave the lake quickly.
@cacatr4495
@cacatr4495 Год назад
@@daisycocoa2557 No, that was not what I wrote. It was the design of man to purposely, by plan, move them permanently completely away from the lake forever, to move them far away into the desert where their needs would *not be met except by man *poorly, in the heat where there was and is no shade, no water, where the "manager" often let the water troughs run empty, where they are only fed once a day, and fed the very thing we were all told was way too rich for them, that could cause colic in horses unaccustomed to it, Alfalfa. They lured them with hay on the ground to lead them step by step far, far away, completely against the freedom the people were told the horses would have. The "manager" turned that new area into a "petting zoo" is what the objectors call it, as the "managers" who horrifically "manage" them have imprinted upon them and then allowed the public to get up close and personal with these formerly wild horses, not abiding by the official (and former) guidance to stay at least 50 feet away from them. The former chant had been to "Keep them Wild & Free!" and now they are neither! There are fences on two sides, they are directly behind the "manager's" property. The ruse was that there wasn't enough food for them at the river (Yes, there was!). As I said, anyone that cares should read at FB- salt river wild horses- exposing the truth! Numerous mares, stallions (formerly in GOOD condition) and foals died because of what that "manager" and their puppets did. They have practiced deception and betrayal on the people who cried out for the freedom of those horses, they have completely broken trust, they have defied all wisdom pertaining to the well-being of wild horses. You completely ignored the clear meaning of my post. All the years of normal activity (picnicking, swimming, walking around, coming and going by car) of people at the lake never made them leave in all the decades past. Given how greatly you have dishonestly attempted to distort my plain meaning, one must wonder what part you have had in that treachery of their being moved away from the lifegiving resource of the lake and the river, and turned into pets.

You can tell when it's an amateur photographer.... why do you think zooming in so close you don't see the rest of what's going on or get a good perspective is so important or appealing???? There are 10 horses, but you zoom in on one, maybe two.... if something does happen, you will miss it....

The stallions need to be gelded, their is a surplus of wild mustangs in BLM holding pens who have been imprisoned there for a number of months and years. So "adding studs"to the herd is irresponsible to say the least! We don't need anymore roundups and mustangs in holding pens who many end up in auctions and kill pens. I can't stress this enough...geld the stallions!!
