From Lori:
"I truly love the old school girl samplers and am inspired by them. They symbolize literacy in a day when most girls were not in a regular classroom. They also taught young girls a skill that could get them ahead of the rest. But they unleashed the creativity of a child - huge flowers, crazy houses, the world through the eyes of a child, most tucked away for many years, but recorded none the less for us to enjoy.
So join me on my journey to create lovely pictures that we can preserve through cross-stitch to remind others many years from now how simple life really is.
Happy stitching always,
Lori

Great video, Carol! I Love your hubby's comments. It is so nice to have a husband who appreciates our love of stitching...I have a husband who knows what I am stitching and proclaims everything as "Beautiful!" He celebrates my progress & finishes and even makes runs to my LNS to pick up supplies so I can stay home and stitch ( maybe because he doesn't want me to look at new charts LOL) I, too am a Brighton gal and have a treasured collection that I enjoy wearing. It makes me happy when someone recognizes the brand and comments on its unique designs. I have the BBD Abecdarian series and would love to stitch along with you and Lisa starting in January. But I need to get on the stick & start ordering linens! I know you had a wonderful time in Amana and so wish I could travel to retreats. ( because I buy the lady dots pretty things and rarely do my own finishing 🤣🤣🤣) anyway my husband just shook his head at me from across the room. I have the entire Abecedarian series except for Rosy Morning No. 09. I could never locate a copy of it. I suppose that really shouldn’t stop me from stitching the rest and maybe I can borrow it from the BBD Library. Sooo many good stitches in that series! I did well at The Woolen Needle and even at Primitive Gatherings; but dropped a bundle at Country Sampler with three quilt kits and some extra kitted goodies. Another great video Carol. You are very modest but your influence is worldwide. I hear you mentioned everywhere on floss tube. In fact you are so well known that they don't even bother to mention your last name. I say all of this to encourage you to use your influence on Blackbirds Designs for a reprint of the Abecedarian series. I am new this year to cross stitch. I noticed this series right away and started trying to collect the individual patterns. I have only found five of them in a year's time. They are impossible to find, especially the first one (still have not found it!) Just a suggestion.... I know your voice carries "weight" and influence! Love you either way!!! The notification of a new video from you brightens my day every time!! Hugs!

My understanding is that when the original Loose Feathers began, it was designated a club and was exclusive to the shops that participated in the club. In other you couldn’t purchase those charts unless you were in the club. So I don’t know if it was a legal thing or not. Many of us have asked Alma if any of the Loose Feathers series would be rereleased and Alma simply says maybe. Since Barb passed a year and half ago, I’m sure Blackbird Designs will not be the same. 😫

Carol, I enjoyed your Flosstube so much, all the interesting wool projects, samplers, Amanda review and your wonderful sense of humor. I noticed a few comments about the ads and I did not have the same experience; lately I have had so many ads on other Flosstubes that it really interferes with the flow of information and enjoyment. RU-vid offers ad free for a price but I’m not sure what the cost is. Thank you and your sweet hubby for all the effort and time it takes to prepare, record and clean up after these informative, entertaining and enabling videos.
