To explain the movie a little bit. Oliver was obsessed with what he could get from Felix. I think the sister said it best right before he killed he saying he was like a moth and he would poke holes into things until it all comes crashing down but he is fed at the expense of others.

Now there are only two emotions. Before saltburn and after saltburn

20:02 the director is satirizing the "stiff upper lip" stereotype of the British upper class not showing grief or other emotions even if the world is ending. James yells at Farleigh that he doesn't want to hear his "American feelings". The Crown deals with this too in a lot of episodes, where Elizabeth is hesitant to show emotion or let her family express it because of how she was taught.

I've heard that the writer claimed Oliver's perfect goal would have been to live in Saltburn together with Felix. Based on that I'd assume, that was his plan all along, getting rid of the others until it's only them but then Felix found out about Oliver's lies, getting him to change his plans and kill him first. The graveyard scene gave us a perfect insight into Oliver's feelings about Felix's death; he's grieving because he didn't want it to go that far and he's "claiming" him the way he couldn't when he was alive. Berry Keoghan (Oliver's actor) also improvised that scene. All of the character's deaths are foreshadowed throughout the movie, Venetia's even multiple times (her whole character is also inspired by Ophelia from Shakespeare). When Oliver threw the stone for his dad's "passing", the stone didn't get into the river, signifying that his dad was not actually dead. Throughout the film, we see pictures or shadows of a minotaur, referencing the myth of "The Minotaur and The Labyrinth" (I'd recommend you to look up the story). Oliver is the minotaur, which is also portrayed by the statue in the middle of the labyrinth, which was mauled to fit Berry's body. He is holding heads, a metaphor for the lives he destroyed or even took. Anyway, there are tons of more theories around this movie, about the lighting, cinematography, costumes at the party, etc. I loved it so much and I honestly don't quite understand why so many people think it's bad? I mean, I get if they find it uncomfortable to watch but those scenes weren't just there for shock-value, they had metaphorical purposes (I also didn't find them that disturbing? Like when I heard people talking about how fucked up it is, I expected cannibalism or something, especially with this concept of obsession). Even after the first watch, I knew it's gonna be one of my favourite films of all time. The references to myths, stories, characters or paintings are just so interesting and the way it's all done in such an artistic way? Amazing. The actors did an incredible job as well.
