First Nations model and World Vision Ambassador Samantha Harris is among some of Australia’s most inspiring women who are raising their voices to empower 1,000 girls.
At age 18, Sam was the second ever First Nations model to grace the cover of Vogue and she’s a powerful advocate for greater diversity in the modelling industry. Sam is a role model for First Nations women and girls and is passionate about stamping out racism and other injustices holding them back.
In this video, Sam raises her voice for girls by sharing the story of Karima, from Niger. When Karima was forced to get married at just 10 years old, she refused to eat. The marriage was annulled but she’s scared her parents will try and marry her off again.
World Vision is calling on Australians to join Sam in our movement to sponsor 1,000 girls by 11 October, International Day of the Girl. You can help rewrite the story of a vulnerable girl.
