Mounted this last week on a SBR the 7" EVO and wow was very impressed on the design. Even the range officer wanted to shoot my rifle. After he shot 5 rounds he told me "you got a sweetheart of rifle and specially in the rails, nice pick". So my review. 5 stars, shipping took only 7/8 days (i live in Puerto Rico) keep up the good work guys !
Just got my evo upper and man this thing is heavy. The grooves on the inside add some weight and adding rails for the side's because you have to insert a threaded rail for the inside and then screws makes for a very heavy rail. I think a star solid quad rail would be the best of both worlds. I may be trading it in.
I run this rail on my A.R. 15 and it's amazing! it's super lightweight and durable, if heat is a problem for some of yall I recommend running Samson accessory mount with a grip and your problem is solved!
I hooked my finger under the barrel as show in this video and when I tightened the screws it felt like a car door smashing my fingers. I could not physically hold it in place. The end of the and guard rose about .145" I shot about 60 rounds and it rose to a total of .200" So now that rail on my gas block doesn't line up with my Samson rail. I have a hard time folding down my front sight that is attached to my gas block because the rail wants to hold it up. I've redone this process over and over and same thing happens. Beyond frustrating.................. :(
I want to add a picatinny rail towards the rear of my Evolution forearm to mount a bipod nearer the receiver. I see what appear to be mounting holes for such but am not clear on how to proceed. I use my forward rail for a foregrip.
Why do I have side to side play/movement after install. I’ve tightened up the Allen screws as much as they will go. Up and down stability is fine. But nothing seems to fix the side to side movements.
So to install this, you have to put on the special barrel nut and remove the delta ring right? Which would mean that you would have to remove the gas block and the gas tube in order to install this rail, is that correct? Thanks.
Do you guys have a special barrel nut wrench for the new barrel nut? I can't find a barrel nut wrench to fit it, I might have to make my own out of a 36mm socket wrench.
I have the YHM-9396 Front Flip Sight Tower, Standard w/o Bayonet Lug or Sling Swivel on a 16 inch mid length gas system barrel. Will the Evolution Series 9-EX rail fit over this?
how come no one ever makes a rail from 7075 t6? its far stronger. also, do yall still make the 12.37? i ordered one a while back and just noticed that it says 12"
old video but.... How much play would there be if I was needing to remove the anti rotation tabs. My upper is not mill spec (externally) due to being a side charging upper. Upper does accept a mil spec barrel nut thought.
I got a new Stag 3GL upper yesterday, and it came with a Samson Evo rail on it. I tried to install one of the rail sections in it, but was unable to because the rail was touching the barrel. I bent it back up with two fingers. I noticed it was off to one side as well, so I bent it with two fingers again. There's no way you can mount anything on these rails. They're like aluminum foil. I am certain that very light use at the range will break the rail pretty quickly. If I load the bipod at all, the rail touches the barrel, so this rail is also going to hurt accuracy as it is not free floated. I am going to contact Stag and ask for a different rail. Hopefully they stop using these as OEM before they lose customers.
That is a great system provided to us by Black Rifle Arms! www.blackriflearms.com/556x45-Low-Profile-Carbine-Piston-Conversion-with-Samson-Evolution-Rail-_p_38.html
I have the 15 inch rail on my AR. It continues to rise I have tried calling and watching every installation video available. I will not be recommending this product. I'm tired of looking at 200 bucks of wasted money on my rifle. Even the person from primary arms told me it's not right. Really disappointed I can't sell it because it's not working properly. I'm going to try something else.... I will be very vocal about my disappointment.
I'm having a little play towards the front end, this is kind of heart breaking to see when I'm running iron sights. It makes the front sight off because of that little play it has. My two clamp ears aren't touching, but it seems pretty damn tight and I don't want to over do it. Is it safe to say I can go ahead and make those two clamp ears touch? This is on a Stag Arms 3g model AR15. Thank you in advance.
