Thank goodness they didn't take your advice about making the metal chassis look dull and matte. This thing would have looked like a cheap budget device.
I do agree with you in the camera department, like Samsung doesn't have to add anything, but a macro mode + if they manage to increase the zoom lens resolution it would be a perfect phone, literally I see no flaws
We have reached at a spot where we call s23 a small phone. I sold my iPhone cuz it felt like they just gave up in innovation. Samsung is making heads turn towards them for sure.
I just happened to have been recommended your video here in yt and wow! The quality of your vid!! Honestyl it looks more like an advertisment than a review!!
Samsung has never been known for mediocre cameras. Odd take. Also, I don't understand why so many people care so passionately about emojis lol. Overall good video. It's nice to see the base models getting attention
I'm mulling over whether to replace my S21, which has a Snapdragon chip because I bought it overseas. It performs nicely and is in good condition. However Samsung have some sweet trade in deals. I know that it will still get security patches and updates for another 2 years. I might hang on till next year for the S24, which apparently will only have two models. I keep on changing my mind. I normally buy my phone out right so there is a big outlay. Although Samsung offer 0% finance. Not sure I can justify spending over £500 on a phone.
my friend, your German reviews gotta be in this speed as well- you do talk much faster in German, which is understandable due to being the native language, however, this speed and harmony is what I do really prefer! 😍
A guy after my own heart who also feels embarrassed to use the ugly emoji's! I loved the size of the S22 but found it unusable because of the limp battery life. I'm looking forward to trying out the S23, but in the second hand market once the prices fall (to where they should be).
One question, at 1:50, it is indicated re. the resolution that QHD+ would have made more sense on the S23+. Why is that? The pixel density is already pretty high at 393. No human eye can distinguish such small pixels. What would be the benefits of even smaller pixels?
Great review overall, though I did find some of the claims to be a bit more exaggerated. Also, regarding what you said in 3:40, the 120Hz support isn't something new for the Galaxy S series, it's been there since the S20.
@@DarkChazz Exynos S21 user here. Never had any UI lag with the last 3 Android versions on this phone using 120Hz, it's been a great experience so far honestly.
I love your videos! Great work and you really focus on what you think of the experience and I see the attention to detail and I appreciate it. Weird that I only got to know your channel by now, definitely deserves more recognition but from what I'm seeing, I'm sure you'll get really far, keep up the great work!

Once again, a claim appears excessively optimistic. At 5:37, it is stated re. the cameras that with "these 3 focal lengths, you can cover pretty much everything". How can you cover everything with a 3x optical zoom? How can you have good quality pictures that require a zoom of 10x, 20x or more? The digital zoom is not going to make it, of course. Even a 2,5x picture will not be ideal, since there is no optical zoom for this level. The zoom if fixed, not variable. Besides, a crucial negative is not mentioned: massive proportion distortion. This impacts all smartphones.
Thanks for this great video made for us also watching in europe telling the EU information regards the specs and pricing. sub +1 and enjoyed the video.
6:59 why are you comparing the base S23 to the iPhone's and Pixel's Pro models ?? When in reality the S23 used to cost the same as the iPhone 14 and Pixel 7, now it costs even less as it starts at 600$ in eBay brand new !
So weird. After 4 years of using my Note10+ I'm more than game to get a slightly smaller phone. The base 23 having a Snapdragon processor too... Good moves Samsung.
Can I know which theme you used? Is this phone compatible with any accent colors for the top pull-down buttons? I really hate default gray. I did not find way to change.
Hmm, about 4-5 hours sot is still not very good. Which means I'll need to charge it twice a day. I'm gonna get the s21 instead: save a lot of money, and only need to charge battery one more time during the day, if that
Yea, I'm pretty sure I'll get the S23+ to upgrade from my S10, but no way am I paying over 1000€ for it. Luckily, prices are already down a bit, and my backup S8 that I'm currently using is still going strong. Once I see it below 900, I'll probably go for it. S24 probably won't be much of an upgrade anyway.
"With the new SoC, there is a night and day difference" (from about 2:38). This claim appears highly exaggerated, or more specifically, unsubstantiated. Even if the new SoC is much more powerful, no denying, the only valid question is whether there is any real case scenario where a user will see a significant difference. And this video does not provide any evidence. The two previous SoCs were already quite powerful. The statement (3:26) that "in every day use the extra performance is clearly noticeable" is a very good exemple of a misleading reasoning. The devices are not tested with the same OS. The S23 has One UI 5.1, while the S22 has the previous version. How do we know that the increased performance is not just tied to the updated OS and has thus nothing to do with the SoC? Also, this could be just tied to different animation times. An iPhone 14 Pro Max, for exemple, takes much more time than an older, massively less powerful iPhone 6S to switch between an app and the Home screen. Of course, no one believes a 14 Pro Max is slower than a 6S. It's just different, longer animations. To make a substantiated claim, both devices should be in similar conditions: both new, same OS version, same One UI version. Besides, connectivity is not necessarily handled by the SoC. Distinct chips can perform these tasks. This depends on the smartphone.
Having a tough time making a choice. I have a green s22 and a green watch 4. I love the color and design and dont like the s23 design or colors that much. The upgrade would be just 150 euros and i would like more battery and better cpu. But I also have all the official cases for s22 and like the variety. Maybe I Will stick with s22 I have wireless chargers at office and home and a battery pack if I cant reach a charger. Man they should have just had a better cpu in s22.
@@aditya_gupta The pixel has been on top since the Pixel 1, bro. I really really wish you were right because I'm not a fan of Google hardware. They have all kind of malfunctions and breakdowns.. But I have to give it to them about the camera. Their software processing is superior.
