Thanks to the clever peeps who pointed out the strange noise is actually the telephoto lens, it's a lot less 'creaky' after a couple days of use. Been doing lots of gaming etc, full 3 day update coming on Monday. Cheers everyone!
Thanks for your Tour! I'm anxiously waiting to hear your update on the heat issue when using the camera. I have already pre-ordered a Note 20 Ultra Exynos. Rumor had it that the heat problem would be fixed on the Note 20 but that does not seem to be the case 😕
It's not fair that there's no 120hrtz option in Note20ulta exynos, it's bad enough that we get the inferior chip but to take out the higher display rate even though its enabled on snapdragon version isn't fair😡
@@A4969Z the Exynos version does have 120hz @ FHD+. The same as the Snapdragon version. The features is exactly the same between the two. The difference is in performance (heat, throttle, battery life, graphics performance and general experience).
@@thewonderofyou1 nope. if your phone has ois and you shake it next to your ear you should be able to hear the camera moving, its just that the note 20u has such big cameras that they make a lot more noise than other phones
Someone who took apart the S20 Ultra found the creaky noise was because of the telescope thing for the zoom camera. It essentially moves left and right to zoom in and out optically
The rattling is the camera sensor. It will make that noise when not in use but then you turn the camera on there is no noise. You should know that being a tech reviewer surely? Note 10 Plus 5G does the same thing.
I always wonder whether you are into poetry or something english related. Cos, man you are so vocally impressive and very funny too. I sometimes watch your videos just to admire your voice and incredible use of words. You blow my mind all the time.
"If you are incredibly wealthy and you wanna go around boasting to everyone that you have a 6'9 inches stashed in your shorts, you can't go far wrong Samsung's fresh new Galaxy Note 20 Ultra"
Pre-ordered mine yesterday with the free Galaxy Buds Live. Checked out so many reviews of different phones, (lots of Tech Spurt) nearly went for Realme X50 being price conscious but then decided not to because I love camera quality which if feel is important to me. My last Samsung was the S3, then had Sony's and HTC's, then went onto Huawei for a few years, currently got P20 Pro which had done me proud. Hoping that the Exynos won't be too much of a big deal as in real life I'm sure it will be quick enough for me for what I want out of it. I don't do mobile gaming but I will use for office work, video, photography and playing music...and of course calls and messaging. In these times Samsung seem to be the only ones who offer 0% finance options over 36 months, great way of getting the sales if you have good credit scores and can offered the monthly repayments (£32.75 p/m plus a £10 EE pay as you go sim with data boosts) it's the only way for me to afford a flagship as I didn't want to go back into a rip-off contract, plus I'm not bothered about 5G yet as it's not widely available. Admittedly £1179 for a telephone is absolutely shit house stupid! But the fact is flagships will always creep up in price as times go by as have the likes of Xiaomi, BBK Electronics, Sony and Huawei (Mi 10 Ultra, Find X2 Pro, Xperia 1 II, P40 Pro Plus). Hoping this phone will really do me well for at least 3 years, yes would've loved a Snapdragon 856+ but I think f*ck it just do my photos, music and office work to my expectations then I won't throw you in the canal.
It would be a good phone, in the Snapdragon region. With the 865 plus it is 10 percent quicker than the straight 865. However I live in the UK and would get the overheating Exynos 990. That means our American buddies will get a SOC that's around 30 percent better than what us Englanders get. Now call me old fashioned but if we are to pay top dollar and 1200 quid is top dollar, we should be getting top phone.I feel us guys in the Exynos zone should get at least 20 percent discount, or the same Snapdragon 865.plus A One Plus 8 pro for over 300 quid cheaper looks much more attractive to me. As for the plastic vanilla Note 20 with 3 times hybrid not optical zoom don't get me started
Wait until you try 990. There's something called improvement, exynos used to be better than snapdragon until 5G modem messed it up in the last version. They may have fixed it
@@suavemasky The benchmarks tell us it's the same under par 990 as seen in the S20 series. Anyone who buys a 1200 quid phone with an Exynos 990 at its heart is being ripped of bigtime
I have the 7t pro and waiting for OnePlus to release 8t pro or whatever is next. Can pick 7 pro up for less than 400 in cex In top condition. The charging is amazing, speed is amazing, camera is brilliant, far better than my S10 plus, I know that's dated but was my last phone. It's a better phone full stop. Battery lasts ages too. I'd recommend the OnePlus phones. They are very underrated.
@@psycheevolved1428 true. I'm using Oneplus 6 also. Amazing phone. Still buttery smooth even after 2 years. Snapdragon and OxygenOS is a good combo. I wish Oneplus have the S-Pen like features. I need the productivity tools on the S-Pen but hated the Exynos chipset.
Best note intro I've seen. Rumors are it won't do QHD@120hz because the exonus chip can't do it, so they block it for everybody. I'll be switching from my s20+ as soon as OnePlus gives me a discount
Totally agree!! This is just a big time scam from Samsung as always! Been a loyal Samsung customer for many years. I have now come to realize that I have been hastled by Samsung big time! I mean look at the technology on Huawei phones or even oneplus! Camera, speed, etc... Samsung are faaar behind and they still charge more money than the others... really, the only thing Samsung have is a nice screen and the One UI and that is it!
I don't think it's fine we are getting Exynos while the rest are getting SD 865+. It's just not fair!! They have to stop this bullshit.. Good review as always 👍
@@randotuber My s10+ will be my last Samsung device this time around. Partly I blame my self for keep buying their products, I think that's what was keeping them going. Us buying their product and they just getting away with their scam. Am doing my part now, my next phone will be, oneplus 8 pro, Xperia 1ii or even iPhone 11 or 12.
@@tedyabr6066 keep up with the s21 ultra and the note 20 ultra, its expected to keep up with apples best (they do better than Snapdragon's of the years)
Hmmmm... Pre-ordered my Note 20 Ultra, but now a bit concerned about the heat issue around the camera that you mentioned... You're the 2nd reviewer that mentioned a heat problem (the other was an article I read)... Thanks for pointing that out!!!
My redmi note 9 does everything this phone can do 0.5 secs slower and I'm more than fine with it. I also have installed gcam and the pictures are great. I stopped buying flagships and I don't regret it.
Australian viewer here. I would love to save up for this phone when I work next year, absolute rubbish that we get the exynos chip outside of the US considering how expensive it is for the entry model. None the less numbers and specs are one thing, but real world usage is another which will determine if the difference in hardware really matters. Great review as always and I genuinely have a soft spot for this phone considering how much it offers. However, that price tag and exynos cpu is the only thing that grabs me by the balls and gives it a tight squeeze.
Fun fact: The only reason the Note 20 Ultra can't do WQHD+ @120Hz is because the Exynos variant doesn't have the necessary bandwidth. In other words, the Snapdragon variants are fully capable of and actually support WQHD+ @120Hz but Samsung has decided to keep the feature disabled for all variants in order to avoid pissing off customers in Exynos regions any further.
Hi. I'm a big fan of your reviews. Reliable content as always. I've got a question though. Does the Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra 5g (snapdragon 865+) mystic bronze colour come in a 512gb variant??
The shaking sound is the optical image stabilization.. you get it phones that have that part which focuses manually such as s10 s20 and the latest iphones Don't shake your phone guys
@J M y'all just mad cuz you're poor , people buy $15,000 watches that do nothing better than a regular watch... You don't know what a luxury item is and the people who buy expensive items don't care that you're jealous either 😂
I'd say that this is more of "hey look at me. I've got money" kinda puts you in a social hierarchy.🤷♂️ yes, luxury does mean better but more of a premium. You can buy a regular watch or you can buy a 3K Rolex watch that does the same thing. It's just your paying for name brand and luxury that comes with it.
I pre+ordered the Note 20 Ultra in Bronze, with some matching Buds Live. Dp 't like the pen pkacement though. Here in the US we have thst Snapdragon and sadly not dual sim. I get the new Note every year.
If they would support it for 3 years or more, that would be good. Few hundred per year would be good. But even the pixel is barley scratching that level.
This is basically final retail, only difference occasionally is that the software may not be absolutely final (an update sometimes comes through a day or two after the unboxing). And yeah, they go back to Samsung once the loan period is up.
@@TechSpurt Imagine the look on the persons face when they open the box with the returned phone in it when JerryRigEverything gets done with his review...."Priceless"!
Hi thanks for your vidoes! Could you please advise, I just bought Samsung Note 20 Ultra and the camera module makes sound even from the minimum shaking. It sounds like one of the camera is moving. Is it normal or it shouldn't give any noise?
Would you be able to use the 3d scanner on this just like the s20, note 10 and such? Upgrading from a note 8 which has some weird issues with the gps so definitely want to make sure it has everything to last at least 3 years
Hi I've got a samsung galaxy note 9 at the moment but I'm not sure what I want to upgrade to the note 20 ultra looks awesome but should I wait for next year's model.
Oh man 1179 quids 😬. Even my lungs kidney heart and liver combined cannot get me this Better i am gonna sell you and get this one. Jk man. Just a great video love you 😊. Cheers 🥂🥂🍻
can you help me/us to how to order the US version of the note20 ultra? as I don't wanna buy the UK version because of the processor. I think it's unfair for us here not to have the snapdragon version of this beast. maybe if I couldn't have the snapdragon I'll try Iphone instead.
So much want. Ive been with samsung since the s7 edge but I've had enough of exynos issues now so am going to one plus just need to talk myself out of the 8 pro to try and wait for the T series
Thats the problem! keep up the good work aswell Chris only found your channel a few weeks ago when I started looking for a new phone and I really like it
1. You don't need to pay 1.45€ or whatever for one hour of usage. 2. You don't need to go get your phone checked up regularly and no cop is going to stop you if you haven't got it checked. 3. You don't need to change the buttons whenever the season changes to warm or cold nor do you need to worry for the buttons to blow out. Car might be the same price as this phone BUT the car also requires more maintenance which costs shit load.
Everything about it makes me want to get it more and more.........but.....Exyons chip for us in UK......I just....can't....overlook that! I am due for an upgrade in about 2 months. I was deciding between this or the Xperia 1 ii. I will wait to see more of your review on Monday, but I have a feeling I've already made up my mind. *sigh* If only they could have given everyone the Snapdragon Chip :(
Please let us know how the Note 20 handles heavy workloads. Throttling could be a dealbreaker for me. If the Exynos 990 can perform consistently, I’ll order mine.
I need to correct you with SIM card slots if you use esim on Main Network u can you put another one in SIM card slot number one you can still use memory card and have to different Networks
I've used the last three iterations of the note the S Pen is perfect for paperwork expense report time card receipt to edit receipt to edit paperwork S Pen find any color and reproduce erase anything on any piece of paper so naturally you would think it was made that way I don't know what I would do without this s pen it has literally saved over 50,000 pieces of paper
Thanks for sharing have you had a really close look at your screen on galaxy note 20 ultra 5 G it looks like there is already a screen protector on it as where the font camera hole is slightly below what looks like a screen protector.seems to have a couple of mill lip.
over here in the states we only have option of 128gb or 512gb. But we get snap dragon 865+.. they offered mystic bronze with the 128gb so i went with that. Not a fan of the black finger print magnet
I'm a huge fan of the note series....especially once the next one gets released. Lol the price of the year old phone goes wayyyyyy down and you can trade in what you have already and get even better deals.
