Ive tried the Symmetry and the Defender Pro. The symmetry needs a smidge higher side screen protection. The top and bottom of the screen bevel edge is perfect. They needed to extend that to the sides as well. The sides are just level with screen surface and this will not satisfactorily protect the screen in some drop scenarios, in my experience and opinion. Bummer because the next level up, defender pro series, is over the top bulky. Was hoping theyd hit the sweet spot with this symmetry series but its a fail.
Have you found a good case with good side protection? I really dont want to slap one of those cases with the separate front screen protection frame that might scratch the sides of the phone.
@hans short answer no. I've exhausted my energy and desire to test out other options, so I am living life somewhat dangerously with the symmetry cover. So far, so good. However, I should caveat that I've been lucky so far without many "drop" instances.
A warning. I've had two Otterbox symmetry cases in the past. The tpu material had yellowed and debonded from the acrylic back. The first time otterbox replaced it for free. Bought one 4 months ago for a new phone,3 months later the rubber surrounding came loose on it too. Called Otterbox and they wanted $10 to send a replacement case! Screw Otterbox. I paid $59 for a case that lasted 3 months and they now want another $10 from me? No thanks! This is the last otterbox I will ever buy. I'll go with tech 21,my friend has that and after 2 years it's still intact

The symmetry case for the s23 also is a poor design with hardly any lip around the screen,if the phone falls face down it's going to break. Don't know why they changed the design. Before it used to have a thick lip around it
