Well done. I did this a couple of years ago after I saw water on the floor. Same thing happening now. Your vid was a good refresher on the correct procedure. Your little baboo wanting to help was a fun touch! Thanks again.

#1 that is the condenser, #2 condensers get hot. Not cold. #3 evaporator core gets cold, located inside the refrigerator. #4 hot side compressor, evaporator side cold. 😉

Unplug the electric first...

If there is ice under your crisper tray, that is more likely to be an ice plug at the top of the drain tube just under the evaporator coils, rather than a plug at the bottom. It's another nasty Samsung problem that requires a different fix like feeding some solid copper wire a foot in from the top and wrapping the end around the heating element.
@davejoseph5615
@davejoseph5615 Год назад
Since this problem is so common why don't refrigerator manufacturers add built-in water alarms? They could stop defrosting and display an error code when they detect that the drain is clogged.

I did it carefully with an air compressor and the mess wasn't too bad. A ton more dust came out.

Great video, set me on the track of 'trying' to fix my piece of junk Samsung fridge. I've been plagued with solid ice forming in the bottom of the freezer, and then some of it melting and leaking on the floor for some time. After watching your video, I found that mine has two drains like the one yours has - one in the same position as yours and one on the left side of the coils. The one on the right was clogged with sludge and when I removed it, a cup or so of water drained out. I cleaned it out, tested it to be sure it would allow water to escape, re-installed it, and checked the left drain. That one was dry, but had dried crud clogging it. Cleaned that one as well. Checked it two days later, and found ice starting to form again 🤬. I tried stuffing trimmer string up the holes to see if they could find and clear any blockages, as well as putting a borescope up to see if there were any visible blockages or issue, but neither attempt bore any results. Any other ideas? I have to say I highly recommend against Samsung appliances. They're JUNK. The range we have is all over the place - one day I might turn a burner on to '5' (for example) and it takes 10 minutes to get where it needs to be, the next day it might take 20. Another day it may be too hot in 10 minutes. This fridge has been a problem from the start. The control panel has never worked right, but it didn't 'click' until well after the warranty ended since we almost never use it (the control panel - when we got it, we turned on the 'night', set a thing or two and didn't even think of touching it for like a year). In order to get the panel to work, you need to cut power to it for 15-30 seconds (which requires either pulling it out to pull the plug or turning the breaker off), restore power, then hope it will respond, and it's put itself into 'showroom mode' at least six times since we've had it - fortunately, it's only happened while we were home and there has been no food loss, but to fix it requires, well, pulling power to get the stupid panel to respond. It's to where when we go away, I put a camera on it so I can see if it goes stupid so I can ask a friend to fix it if it does. 'Showroom mode' should have a HARD KILL so that it is absolutely, totally IMPOSSIBLE to re-enable in a 'production' home setting. I'll never buy another Samsung appliance again, but I'm not eager to replace these because appliances like fridges and ranges aren't exactly uber cheap, so if I can get these things to last a few more years without the fridge ruining our hardwood floor, I'd rather pull some more time out of them.

What is the difference between the two different types of drain lines. I have one white and one black and I’m unsure if I switch the locations by mistake. The top of the one has a different style.

Thank you. I cancelled my service appointment for tomorrow. Drains were clogged, causing water spill-over onto floor from beneath the middle drawer. Is there a video on how to remove drawer?

I did this but I first emptied my freezer & left it unplugged for several hours so that all of the ice build up could melt. After cleaning the tube and putting everything back together, I plugged the unit back in & restocked the freezer. NOW there is a flashing green light next to the word “cold” and the display panel is unresponsive. HELP!

I committed one of your other videos, here goes again. Because I’m disabled due to cancer I’m unable to do most of the work myself. Some of the things however I can do! 6 months ago my son-in-law changed our sink but forgot to reconnect the water line to the Samsung French door icebox. Before then the ice maker was working except for the occasional freeze up problem in the ice maker and ice buildup below the crisper. Since my wives Brother-in-law reconnected the water line I changed the filter waited a few days but no ice, however the ice buildup under the crisper still persist! I’ve tried everything I can think of so I’m asking for help! Any and all advice would be appreciated!! Thanks

The water under the crisper drawer is mostlikely from a clogged drain line however the clog could be lint build up in the bottom part or the drain line or ice build up in your refrigerator evaporator. If it's ice build up in the evap it means you don't have a heat clip. I haven't made a video about that because I haven't had the right opportunity I will have to make one of those soon

@@dfighternelams6387 I just fixed this on my fridge literally today it is likely ice build up in the back where the condensation is supposed to drain out of the small plug look up "Samsung condensation drain" on RU-vid and you will see tons of videos on how to fix this

@@dfighternelams6387 it really wasn't bad just four screws the biggest time consumer is taking all the food out of the fridge and putting them in coolers what's the most time consuming. Do this what this guy does in this video with those little plastic valves and clean them and that can just be pulled off by hand and that little Phillips screwdriver cover, and the one inside after you take off the panel... I just pour some hot water down the drain and it melts all the ice going down into that little valve from this video we're commenting on so I just took a little popcorn bowl put the end of the valve in the popcorn bowl went back in the fridge and melted the ice. There's about 10 20 videos of average Joe's doing that just search water leak crisper evaporator Samsung fridge that sort of thing. You might need a buddy like even a teenager or something to help you reach things if they're out of reach but I'd say it's a level two or three difficulty out of 10 just time-consuming and moving all the food and the fridge is heavy

Thank you for the excellent video. I followed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0txRsqr71cc.html to clean the freezer and then this video to solve the root cause of the problem - pinched valve of the drain tube was closed.
