Hey, this is a weird comment but my husband moved from Australia to America and lives here alone without connection to most of his friends/family in Australia. After watching your videos, I heard him mumbling some of your “catch phrases” and Australianisms. Thank you for bringing Australia back to him!!
WHEN HE CALLED OUT MY MUSIC INSECURITY I hate people being able to hear my taste in music. Not because it’s bad, but ppl are always surprised and I don’t know enough about any one genre to have a conversation about it.
One of the worst things to me is listening to my music in the comfort of my earbuds/headphones at full volume and someone nearby asks, "What are you even listening to?" Man, my anxiety goes through the roof.
I finally own a pair of these beans, and one thing I can say about the ANC is that it's severely misunderstood and it's mostly in the way Samsung advertised it. I work in an environment with a lot of machinery creating low frequency humming and these things are amazing at filtering them out while allowing voices through. The ANC is actually some type of hybrid noise-cancelling where the lower frequencies are totally filtered but the mid to high frequencies are actually passed through with a mild transparency mode. They're pretty amazing for improving speech intelligibility (which, in turn, make them awful for cafés where most of the noises are human voices). tl;dr the Beans are actually great hearing aids
Working in foundry, must say they're the best at let me listening my music without losing any ambient sound (heavy presses for aluminium) but just keeping it at annacceptable level. For reference without any earplug you will ear 92db costantly
..and these are tuned to Harman but came out as a bit of a warm Harman. its a non-fatiguing set. oh, and you have to fit them right or you'll end up complaining like this guy here. I love them that I bought another set since I lost my first pair. I alternate these with the Liberty 3 Pro if I want a more relaxed experience. a severly misunderstood set right here. love fhe ipod videos, not the audio stuff
I’d give the magic beans a 2/10, looked nice but they didn’t taste well. Very hard to eat, I’m angry that there was only 2 and it was very slimy. I also disliked how sparks came out of my mouth and the inside tasted kind of like rubber and copper. The only reason it’s a 2 if because it looked nice, and the crunch was pretty satisfying
These buds fit a niche for me perfectly. I work in a super loud factory, and wear a headset for hearing protection and communication. These allow me to wear them under the headset and still hear people on the radio asking me for adjustments at my machine, while giving me decent sound, and the noise canceling changes the how the machines sounds in a way that makes it more tolerable being near them for 8+ hours a day. This is the only thing I use them for, and for the $110 (Canadian) I got them for, I can’t complain
The reasons he said he doesn't like they are some of the main reasons I like then. Apart from the shape and the way it feels in my ears. I've not been able to find any other earbuds that I can wear more than a half hour so so before it hurts. I take phone calls all day so still being able to hear clearly while listening to music or a podcast is what I prefer.
@Jack Philips I bought a pair of the Linkbuds, and returned them after a couple days. They were extremely comfortable, but nomatter how I adjusted them, they didn't sound anywhere near as good as the beans.
PRIME RIB your comments aren’t making sense my guy. I don’t know if apple would make a product like that and if they did they’d do it to try and improve it.
To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ru-vid.comUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.
That's true. Asus does too. I bought an asus laptop the other week and I opened the box up, and as I swung the top of the box open, it pushed the laptop up an inch on one side so I could grip it! My wife said I was a nerd bc I put it back in just to show her.
it's crazy how much your perception of product quality is influenced by the unboxing experience, you only experience unboxing it for a couple of minutes but it sticks with you for a long time, although sometimes companies can go a little overboard and it's obvious that they're compensating for a bad product, like raycons
@@nathan7627 the more money a company puts into marketing , the unboxing etc, the less goes into the product itself, that's why brands like dr dre and raycons make bad, overpriced headphones, because half of money they make from your purchase goes back into advertising and other things which don't improve the product, whereas a company like sennheiser puts most of their money back into the products, when's the last time you saw a sennheiser ad or sponsorship? probably never, yet we all know who sennheiser is because of word of mouth, companies like raycon would kill for word of mouth but it's never gonna happen because their products are low quality, so they have to throw money at youtubers to get people to buy their crap
@@emilycampbell6375 yes i totally agree with u. but this video clearly proves that apple puts most of their money back into their products and on top of that give good marketing.
@@HungryMoosey he's not a fanboy but prefers iphones and macs because windows is goobage. he has said many times he isnt a fanboy and he clearly isnt. in case you acuse me of being an apple fanboy, i own no apple products and i despise when i need to use one
I thought they looked familiar. Also don’t go looking for these I’ve been unable to find a pair of AKG 50’s ironically I am able to find actual WW2 German tank headsets.
I got them for half the price and they are the best feeling earphones I've ever tried imo. They just feel very natural in my ears. Ergonomics are amazing.
9:32 I love the attention to detail in the edit. As soon as he talks about everything going silent, the background music stops making it feel quiet even though nothing really changed. Love it!
i also bought the beans for me they are perfect for work im a package delivery dude and i like having music playing in the background and also hearing customers for me a perfect fit
Shaan Tandon maybe u can still return them? most places have a 30 day return policy, unless u happened to buy from some shady website that sells android products
So weird how experiences can vary. I've been really happy with those beans for about two years now. I actually stopped buying new stuff since I got them (got half a drawer full of earbuds. mostly chi-fi though). I turn off the noise canceling, because it makes me feel claustrophobic. I have to say it's very sensitive: sometimes it seems like it doesn't work, but then I just wiggle them better in place and whoop, environment is gone and I can only hear myself breathing (drives me nuts, like with in-ears). It doesn't work for loud high-pitched voices in trains or at work, it just removes the lower end (for any sounds for that matter: drilling neighbors is just too bad too), but most ANC systems can't do high afaik. Sure, it's not the best noise canceling anyway, but helped me through the day many times when there's too much noise. Then again, I've only paid 120 for it (last time I checked they were 80). For 300 I'd definitely look at them differently. Perhaps the regular firmware updates samsung puts out has fixed some of the issues too. I'd probably buy them again if mine died, but they have to stay around 100 or lower.
I'm not an audiophile, I can't find any difference between good and mediocre in terms of sound, but god I love watching this channel. I genuinely smiled when I heard "I bought da beans" and I watched this video till the end
As someone of Austrian descent, it makes me very happy that Austria is at the forefront of sound engineering and very sad that AKG got dragged through the mud by corporate trading
“If your under the age of 30, just go to bed right now! I don’t care what time it is, just go to bed!” This is the only time I have ever been caught staying up past my bedtime by a youtuber...
Cannot say I have the same experience as you describe here. Find these to be pretty good, the sound is clear and the bass is good. Although I am using it with my Samsung phone, I tuned the sound to my liking. Also set the Noise Cancelling to max. Its nice. That said, the case I do agree. Far from the best. but I do prefer a little extra thickness if the case is a bit more square. Prefer the sound of these compared to the AirPods.
@@HearMeLearn hes clearly an apple fanboy. What exactly did he complain about that makes them so bad? Noise cancelling? In half in ear earbuds? Irrelevant. The case? Which is just a case... and the case is nowhere near as bad or even bad at all compared to what he was saying. And the style of the packaging... wow
@@13_faces Samsung fanboy here, these aren't good, any time you overpay for a product that does the same things as others, but it does them worse and for a higher price than the rest... So they're bad. Any new product will be compared to others similar to it, and if they don't hold a candle to the others, then it's going to have a bad time. Again, Samsung fanboy here, I'm just not a fan of spending extra money on things that aren't better than other products that do the same. It's ok bro, you don't have to fight for a company that doesn't even know you exist, you sound silly on these comments.
@@DankPods I’ve never seen a RU-vidr reply on a 3 month old video lmao. It’s like they erase them from their intellect as soon as a new video comes out or as a minute passes.
If you got a good price and know what you're getting into then I'd say they're pretty good. They serve a solid purpose for me. The ANC is 100% bullshit gimmick though. They should have just left that out and called it a day. I waited until I got them for about 100 bucks and went in knowing the ANC was garbage I would never turn on and I'm happy. I can't always have myself blocked off with earbuds and am sick of only being able to have one in at a time if I want to be able to hear. (The whole pass through/ ambient mode thing is great on some buds but it's not something I can stand all day without getting a headache.) I can wear these and still hear what is going on and can leave them in while not listening to anything and function normally, vs back in the case and in and out of my ears constantly (not fun when most of your pants don't have front pockets). Original AirPods don't fit/stay in my ears. I was worried these wouldn't either but they do and they stay in even though they feel like they shouldn't. I do have a paid of Buds+ that I use as well, depending on the situation. If I want everything else gone, those are the ones to reach for (and the ambient mode works as well). The review is pretty accurate, although I don't have issues with the volume and my case isn't all janky and wobbly. But if you're not in it for the ANC and didn't pay full price, you'll likely be pretty happy. I wish I could remember the reviewer who did a video of them from the angle of all-day-wear truly wireless buds. Both are definitely valid opinions though. I also don't have issue with sound leakage annoying those around me but that may be because I don't usually have them cranked all the way up and I have small ears.
"What are you gunna do for your 30th birthday mate?" "Oh, I'm gunna go check out that story about AKG's involvement with the beans, now that I'm allowed to"
Me before this video: Can't justify spending lots of money on high end earbuds anyway, I'll do with what I have Me after this video: phew, dodged a bullet there didn't I. Would've bean really disappointed if I bought these, thanks Dank Pods👍
I can say that if you are disappointed by these, the galaxy buds plus are just better in a lot of ways. I'd love to see our favourite iPod man will check them out.
Tbh I have these and I really like them, but I went into them without expending good ANC. ANC reduces base extremely well, everything else nah. As for sound quality I don't think DankPods tried changing the sound preference in the Wear app. It needs to be set to Clear for them to sound good, it's way too bass and muddy out of the box but they are *capable* of great highs and mids! Just not tuned that way on the default EQ.
i might be incredibly slow, but I JUST realized that you're Dankmus, I had absolutely no idea, but it was a pleasant surprise, i'm glad you can do what you want and still be relatively successful, and ever since the CallMeKevin video, I've had Dissin your fly girl and Dr. Zeius stuck in my head!
Worked as a tech feature writer for screen rant I wrote that the noise cancelling didn’t really work because their design doesn’t block out any sound because of their design, but my editor got mad at me and said “they’re literally designed to cover your ear” and changed what I wrote then published my story
I know im a bit late, but after having the beans for over half a year im happy with them. I got them for 80€ (100 Usd) and they are good for that price. The noice cancelling isnt amazing, but it is fine for that price. Ive also not had the wiggling issue with the case. For the issue with the touch controls, there is a homescreen widget that allows you to disable touch controls and ANC.
I bought them for 70€ in Greece. Awesome deal. I used the wide seals which helped putting them in better and blocking any gap easily. I also used the dynamic sound setting which corrected the whole mid-absence. Finally I use them at University where (if fitted correctly) the "noise cancellation" blocks most of the "mumble" and literally makes the environment more comfortable while being able to listen to your colleagues and teachers at medium volume. At full volume they are just a blast.
I have to say, I'm loving these audiophile videos so much, despite being half-deaf. Pretty sure you could make a video about anything and it'd be entertaining because of your passion for the topic. So... Samsung Beans vs Heinz Beans review when?
your video feels like its almost over and i don't like it but when i look at the timestamp bar it's still half way through the end. love watching your rant.
@@javiersalgado9986 I like the case, hate how shit the magnets are. I like the OG case better though, clicks open, unlike the +, which just kinda sits there.
DankPods mr dank are you gonna tell us if those Australian audio headphones are good? I might get myself some Oh wait just got to the spot we’re u said that u were opening them on the 1 dollar a month area
So he started talking about ear buds and I was like "wait, he's got a lot of those wireless earbuds, I guess he does know what he's talking about", then he whipped out his collection of AKG headphones, and I remembered what he does outside of youtube...
used the beans for 3 years and they work fine for me, decent enough audio, the fact they let sound through means i never have to take them out, but the noise cancelling does just enough to make it so i cant hear the air conditioning going off. plus they refuse to break, been dropped in the toilet, and thru the wash, and theyre no worse for wear after sitting out to dry.
I did that for a looong time with some Shure IEMs. I was wearing them backwards for almost a year, and just figured.. sigh... I guess this is what "audiophile" sounds like. ho hum... Once I put them in right, it was a drastic difference!
@@andrewwalker1391 well there are many ways to make a box. Samsung just happened to make ones that highly resemble Apple's just like they sold Samsung Galaxys by saying that it was "the iPhone from Samsung"
@@facundopignanelli then a ring company might as well sue them too. The battle would just be a waste of money in my opinion. But than again these are multi-billion $ companies.
