Have you seen the difference with 4k 30fps vs 4k 60 fps? S20 can do 4k 120 fps... man if you would see these videos in comparison you would be able to tell the difference.... I would go for S20 all day... the price difference will pay off if you know what you need it for.
The ultra-wide angle sensors are different. Slightly larger in S20 flagship. You can check the sensor models in AIDA64 app. And what about low light and night mode in ultra-wide shots?
The FE having a proper telephoto lens gives that effect where it brings the background forward and I really appreciate having that specially in portraits!

@@shaylarz yeah it’s the only con for me I like to take selfie’s and unless I’m outside or we’ll lit area and adjust the general camera setting to warm and then in filters I do warm tone again it’s gonna make me look gray lol. Everything else is amazing like the speed, main camera, resolution, size but the front camera sucks.
I don't know what are they thinking, if they are right I am editing my pictures from my cameras wrong my entire life, I always like to crank up clarity, dynamic and saturation in Lightroom. But I did notice that the saturation of Samsung phones is in indeed high when it comes to pictures in nature, there the colors are almost too poping.
Tbh im so surprised about the FE performance in comparison to the flagship. Found myself liking most the photos (aside from night mode) on the FE. And the 4k 30fps video looked more natural in color Temp. Than the 4k 30fps on the flagship s20. I'm curious if samsung will release a note 20 FE if they do it definitely can't be worse than regular note 20 lol but I rather see it compared to the note 20 ultra than the regular note 20 if they do anyways.
Great job on the video as I was trying to decide between a new FE and a used S20 and it seems like the new FE would be the better Deal for a few reasons .
Got the FE 256GB on Jan 1st, I was looking for s20 but it was out of stock, so decided to buy FE. Now I see my decision was not bad! Only issue is that in India both of these come with Exynos 990 instead of SD 865
Excellent comparative video! Got to appreciate this effort into relieving more mystery about the FE vs flagship in terms of cameras. Actually, I have been confused for few weeks between buying either the flagship s20 or s20+, and the FE one. My knowledge in Cameras is very little, but I would like to ask few questions and I would really appreciate your help into answering them: 1- What is the main impact of the telephoto camera on the pics? As the flagship one has 64 MP, while the FE one has only 8 MP. Does this huge gap make a big difference in pics or videos? 2- When it comes to the main cam, A71 has 64 MP in its main camera. Though I am sure the flagship of FE are outperforming the A71, but what does make the 12 MP of Flagship and FE better than the A71 one? 3- Overall, as a guy interested more in doing vlogs and some educational/scientific tutorials, would you recommend to me going for the FE or flagship? oh shittt yeah well spotted! That's such a subtle difference you noticed compared to 98% of us who can't. Maybe the FE is a cheaper phone and cant pick up things like that😂😂
I do see some people saying the One UI 3 reduced skin smoothing much more, so maybe you can make a test on the S20 after it's been update to One UI 3 again?

@@TheStupidestMoFo I think you're right! Samsung makes skin look more white, hence those being extremely popular in Asia. iPhones tend to give you a tan, hence making it very popular with Americans. Both do it!
Great video. From what I can tell by the specs the S20 should be better for video if that is important to you. But for photos the S20FE is better, how often do you use the telephoto sensor. I guess most people would give priority to the 32MP front facing camera for photos on the S20FE. The S20 has additional "super steady video" for the ultra wide sensor on the back of the phone. And it should have DPAF for the selfie camera for better video. But if you do not use that and just prefer the regular standard sensor for video and photos, that is the same on both cameras. And to be frank, most people use the standard main sensor on the back of the phone for videos plus photos and the the front facing camera for selfies and photos and sometimes videos. And because the S20FE is probably cheaper and a newer device there is no specific reason to get the S20 except if you shoot a lot of video and need somewhat better stabilization.
Hello You missed that those phones besides the different soc have different camera sensors for the Exynos and Snapdragon variants. USA Snapdragon uses poor SONY IMX555 CMOS while Exynos has Samsung S5K2LD ISOCELL which has WAY BETTER QUALITY. Could you please run AIDA64 and tell us all the Camera IDs? They are listed in Devices. Thank you! The S20 FE LTE got the Samsung S5K2LD sensor. I fear looking at the LTE ID that this one will have the Sony chip and it will be a NO GO for me. I just got the FE version 4 days ago and while the back camera is great and the best one that I had with Samsung. The frontal camera for the selfies is so bad. The edges seems slightly blurry, dotted, almost pixelated. It changes the skin colour while erasing almost all details and makes my hazel eyes look almost black. WTF Samsung! I had better front camera on my S8 plus. Now I regret trading in. Other than that, it is very fast phone and pretty amazing.
Specially if you put the front camera closer to you the colours gets washed up, cleared and blurryer. A S21 doesn't do that but the reverse: Hella sharpy
I want to know if it makes good calls and no lag in texts. Also, if I ever drop my phone, it doesn't crack or shatter? I have a Huawei phone that works great except AT&T is forcing me to buy a new phone! When I drop it, it doesn't have scratches or anything like that & I have a lot of battery life. I'm not that impressed with any of the new 5g phones since not all areas have accurate 5g networks. I also think phones shouldn't be bigger than 6" unless if the buyer has large fingers... They also don't make good pockets for women's pants. I want my phone to fit in my pocket! I don't like carrying too much and I want a lightweight phone.
I think the S20 pictures look more natural and better to work with from a post processing point of view. To the average everyday user the price difference between the two probably won't make a sense though, so to my dad I'd probably recommend the Fe.
there are some lacking things. you dont see which lens you are using, you cant select what lens to use, if you select the zoom you might think it will switch to the telephoto but no, it wont if you are focusing on a near subject, like on a table when u are sitting down. you cant use the telephoto at all in pro mode, but all in all i have it i like it a lot, but some things that other brands like xiaomi have , samsung lacks them . i dont know why, it seems on purpose to just buy the next stuff

for me the simple fact that the s20 flagship got a 29mm telephoto lens and the FE got a 52mm makes it better, even though it's only used to zoom, the wider focal length makes it better, since if you use the 32mp in the flagship you're using only 2 cameras in the phone, it was the worst idea samsung did in cameras after the 108mp sensor

Skin tone, smoothening and overexposure with Samsung cameras. Pictures in bright sunlight get overexposed 🤦🏽♂️. That’s why I hate those cameras. It would take the nice portrait and edge detection would be good but skin tone you’d look like a doll
Samsung used to be a lot better about the "beauty face" thing. It was only there if you turned it on. I guess they added it after S7 as a standard feature for people who love to appear smooth and flawless on social media since that's the popular thing for many users. Then, there are people like me who want the IRL selfie look.
5:05 more detail in the shadows under the treehouse platform on FE. 5:30 same here under the arch of the eiffel tower. Is the HDR disabled for some reason on the regular 20?
As of 2022, Price difference of these two phones are like $20-$30. But for someone who drops phone all the time, I think Fan Edition is the better choice because new screen display is only $60. On the other hand, normal S20 screen is way more expensive because of that curved edge. maybe $150.
Not to mention the back of the FE being plastic. I bought my FE 5G back in August last year after being stuck between the FE, regular S20 and the S20 Plus which were extremely close in prices. A deal breaker for the S20 and S20 Plus was how they had exynos chips where I'm from which I've heard people complain about quite a bit and wasn't exactly sure if it would affect me and my use and whether I should choose the FE over phones that used to cost over £1000. So I ended up with the FE.

I originally thought all chips were the same until I compare on GSM arena that the FE 5G only has sd chip compared to the FE 4G which has two ver. (inc exynos). And the same applies to s20. But idek if I buy a 2nd hand FE that it will come with a snapdragon chip🥲
How is the shutter speed on the s20FE? I have a Galaxy A71 and there is a long delay between the press of the trigger and when the camera actually snaps the photo. This makes the camera almost useless unless you have an actual stand for the phone, for maximum stability. The camera on my A71 also creates this horrible blur effect around the edges of the photo. I want my camera to snap the photo immediately as I press the trigger, while having a reliable focus/ image stabilization. How are these features on the s20FE?
Coming from a Pixel 3XL My wife and I got the FE for $599 ea. I am very very impressed with the camera and imo I don't feel like I'm missing much from the pixel camera. Maybe a slight loss in some detail, but its so hard to tell. Cameras on the FE are awesome.
It's likely that your pictures with the FE are in fact comparable to the 3XL but they appear to be less quality because your screen on the FE loses about 100 pixels per inch versus the 3XL. A good test would be to take pictures with both abd email them to yourself as attachments. then get in a laptop or a desktop and open them so now the display is impartial. A 3XL has a camera that is basically equal to the FE. The only difference being the FE has the telephoto and the ultra wide which rh 3XL doesn't.

I find it really wrong for samsung to improve on the photo quality on the FE and not the s20+. S20+ is supposed to be a more premium phone and yet the image results for the two phones are very inconsistent. Samsung should provide a software update to fix the inconsistencies on image quality on the S20+ and also fix the stutter when panning.
the most important camera feature of any flagship is actually nightshots. if you have used several android phones in the past, you will know that getting, clear, low noise nightshots are THE HARDEST to come by and this can most often, ruin your night time adventure photos where they would have been just as memorable for keepsake. for those planning to pay top dollar on a smartphone, always look for the best nightshot camera because for dayshots most smartphone cameras are above average these days.
thanks my wife and i bought 2 fe phones for 599 each for 17 per month per phone.your videos helped us see the fe had expansion tray to 1 terabite.also we had to have blue tooth for many things...sincerly Joe and Sheryl silva Eureka Calif
what I don't like about this phone is the voice command to take pictures work...but to record video, it's a hit or miss.. sometimes it works, other times you have to say "record video" multiple times until it finally works.

And with special deal right now, I could get it cheaper AND with the honestly quite bad Galaxy Buds Live. Not looking too good right now for the iPhone 12. Especially with the iPhone 12 lineup sticking to 2x and 2.5x telephoto lenses and no word of software assisted zooming, it appears the zoom on these phones are still limited to 10x probably. And mind you, long zooming is more useful than you think

@TechDaily Most of us -- 90% of the time -- are doing *point and shoot photography* posting them on social media ASAP using filters, etc. In that department, the #Pixel got it down right -- producing great photos right out of the bat (because of their A.I., software & algorithms). So you spend less time tweaking your photos. In the video department, the #iPhone is still supreme (with their OIS, EIS, compression, etc.) But with Samsung, they keep hyping up their camera hardware. Its software has too many features -- that for most we never really utilize -- because *Time is of the Essence* in photography and videography for average folks. I, myself, has very little time to tweak photos and videos that I often neglect what the 3 cameras offer. I hardly delve into the Camera Settings. I just want to take that photo and shoot that video ASAP. @Samsung seems to be cannibalizing their *flagship* #S20series and #Note205G with the release of #S20FE5G Having said that, I am very intrigued by this device for its *Flagship Experience* features it offers as well as its competitive price. I'm hoping Samsung continues on with the #FEseries for quite sometime and continue offering *Great Specs with Great Price.*

I was going to buy the S20+, but waited due to the price. Instead I waited & picked up the ☁️ red FE. Boy, am I glad I waited? Cheaper and has 97% of the features of the S20series. Saving a few hundred bucks was definitely my cup of tea!

Samsung screwed it up with the 64mp wide camera which can record 8k ( the reason why they adopt it). And they make it even worse with a 3x tele in FE. 3x difference is way too much
Photos taken from your phone is more for memory and storytelling. If shooting photos is that important then get a proper camera it's lens is so big to let in more light and capture even more detail, I can confirm my 12 MP mirrorless camera with fix lens can capture alot more details.
Please make a comparison video of the Samsung note 10 lite vs s20 FE🙇. I'm about to upgrade my 7 year old phone but i can't choose which. Also need your thoughts to which phone should i upgrade to.
If cameras are important to you, do not even think about Note10 lite. I have both phones. Especially during the night, Note10 lite is far behind S20 results. If cameras are NOT so important, Note10 lite has an incredible value especially for S pen features.
Imo the difference in quality between these two phone was not by a large margin. Both took amazing images. But for me, i can see the difference right away.the camera on the flagship s20 looks slightly better.. The main camera, ultrawide, night mode and even the selfie and potrait shots has more details, good colours and good hdr.. It has the sharp and contrasty kind of look to it which i do prefer.
For zoom and selfie detail, there's not much in it. I don't see what you're talking about when looking at the images. Like the FE is SLIGHTLY sharper at 30x, but has WAY more noise. And other samples were a toss up. And then the same thing with the selfie. Even when zoomed in, I see the color difference but detail? Your beard hairs are just as defined on both. I don't get the commentary on those.
Okay, so calling those two 4k videos identical means either you're blind, or something weird happened when you exported before uploading to RU-vid. The FE has a nice, sharp 4k image, while the regular S20 has what looks like a 1080p image. Can you please confirm that this is actually what came out of the S20 flagship (and still comes out of it) and that it's not just something going wrong in the editing of this video? Because if that's the 4k recording of a "real" S20, then it's definitely a phone to avoid. The FE looks really nice, though :) It also has more detail in dark areas than the S20.
I can't justify $1000 + for the s20 or s21 ...I got an amazon renewed s20 FE . I can't tell it's not brand new. And according to your vid, i don't think i'm giving up much . Thanks !!!
It irritates the hell out of me that you call it "flagship S20" in the title and throughout the video. What the hell is that? Can you be even more confusing? Just name it S20 like all of us. If anything, the "Flagship S20" would be the S20 ultra (not the S20).
IMO, believe most ppl (not the 1%-2% “TECHIE & POWER USERS”) want to point and shoot & not use 8K, 12K, or use manual/custom settings when setting up a shot. They wanna point and shoot, period. Also, most, won’t notice the diff in pic quality etc...YES, there are ones that do, I know, and am one of “those ppl”😂 But, it is cool that the cheaper costing FE has MOST S20 features, it’s the display glass, body composite, & few other small items that they cut down to reach the price point that the FE has. Have a Gorilla 3 display (back in S4 model I think 🤔) & plastic frosted back (honestly....wish all Galaxy phones HAD A MATTE BACK FINISN, instead of the smudge, fingerprint magnet they have. Would love to keep high end material of note 20 ultra, s20 ultra & just use a matte frosted glass back👍🏻. ✌🏼
