Agree 100%, all the new phones are coming without SD card which is a hard pass for me. Having a 500gb SD card + 256 GB built in is more important than minor updates. Without it, I won't buy the phone.
The thing that kept me from buying newer phones is the expandable SD card slot and there's still charger that came with this. Although no more headphone jack but I can do with my galaxy bud+ which is perfect
I had a S20 for almost 2 years, in this summer I dropped it on the ground by accident and the phone was gone, it was an awesome phone even after 2 years of use, but the battery life was a big ugh for a top line phone. So it really depends on what are you looking for. Ps: please make sure that the case is a good one, the front glass is really sensitive.
@@Rockswho I had the phone for about a year and a half and the battery life was the same as when I got it pretty much. Lasted me a full day easily. One of the best phone's I've had honestly.
Using an s20 plus here in 2022, if it wasn't for the battery backup this is still a great phone. everything from build quality , display, perfomance, speakers , camera it all holds up on par with what 2022 flagships have to offer and then some like SD card support, IP68 and reverse wireless charging. Software is still updated regularly and runs smoothly on the latest One UI
@@gomaamog4975 I live in Pennsylvania. The price jumps up and down, so you just have to get it at the right time. I got mine used but it was in "Grade A" conditon so I didn't notice any damage. I'm looking on Ebay right now and they're going for about $280-300 right now depending on the condition. Check it out!
I'm looking at buying the 128GB S20 Ultra 5g from my provider for $350 Cad. as I type this... just have to click "Checkout". Any of the newer models are out of the question due to the lack of an SD card slot.
I have had mine for 3 years and I love it. It has been the best Galaxy phone since the S3. (IMO).. I have had several Galaxy phones. I am dissapointed that they took the SD card option out of the S23 models. I have always appreciated the Galaxy's that had that option.
So I bought my s20 on Nov 2020 its August 2022 now so almost 2 years and I want to share my experience on a pink s20. First the software and and the smoothness of this phone is top notch and still holds up. The only app issues I find myself is youtube which can be extremely laggy and crashes but that only happens around once or twice a week(I watch ALOT of yt vids). Gaming is great no lags at all. The one downside I have is battery life. The battery life of this phone brand new with the 120hz on was between 5 to 6 hours of screen on time. Now after time has passed I have gotten less battery life around 4 to 5 hours of screen on time. No I'm not going down 60hz. Once you go 120 there's no going back. Camera is great with good lighting low lighting or indoor with yellow lighting the camera struggles including videos. However I still have no plans to buy a new phone my next one will be an ultra just not sure which year lul. So if your looking for a great phone buy this very worth it.
Just got one for cheap and tried for five days. I´ve sold my iPhone 12 mini (wich has beter and worst features, but overall very solid) and kept this S20. LEt´s see how long it goes. So far so good.
Not software wise its on its last leg of software support and the fact u can get s21 or around the same price or slightly cheaper than the s20 makes zero sense of buying the s20, you can find the s21 for as low as 279
@@lynell9850 yes u do but your eventually going to have to let go of it plus u can buy a USB C to 8 in 1 with 2×USB C+ 3×USB A+ SD CARD+ HDMI+ Eternet. Mostly people are going to use SD card for heavy videos are files not like it's worth using for file since u can't convert the entire app to SD card. It's a nice to have it isn't really a necessity. Just like we gave up headphone jack we have to give this up. Better get a phone that is future proof the s20 series is done with updates and the s21 series has total of 4 years update left that is including security update and has 2-3 full of updates left.
I'm still using my S20 and just bought my partner a s20+ through Amazon renewed. She loves it. I like the compact form factor of the S20. I also have the S22 Ultra. I'm a google Fi customer but passed on the pixels. I dropped my favorite pixel 4xl and now have the dreaded green screen so I'm back to soley using my Samsungs. Loving them and the UI updates.
In my opinion s20 is better than that s21. 1)Glass back instead of plastic. 2)SD card support. 3) curve display instead of flat. 4)1440p display instead of 1080p. 5) MST support.
I actually prefer the 64mp crop on the telephotos as it enables me to see things farther than dedicated fixed resolutions telephoto lens do. I dont think anyone would use a telephoto lens for photography that much as it mainly is for utility in seeing things farther away and the 64mp crop enables you to do that for farther distances. And also, the reverse wireless charging helps a lot when your earbuds go low on battery. Had it useful in a lot of cases. Make sure that you take these things into context of people actually using them instead of just basing them only on your own experiences.
Is it still worth getting now? I'm not rich. I had an A6 for about 4 years, and it's not great. Need a long overdue upgrade . This seems reasonably priced compared to the S23. Do I get the S20?
Wow that's so crazy 🤪 , defenitely u got some massive talent, u have super natural power and some extra guts 👏, I congratulate 🎊 u and proud of you on this achievement 👏 😀 👍
Suprisingly my s9 with 845 SD still rocking in 2023 😅. Still better performance than few new smartphones models. The disadvantage in Only the battery capacity. Planning to upgrade to s20 later
i bought one at launch. and i hated it. for the first few month it was great. but after that it started to lag a lot. shutter lag is also way worse after a few motnh. not only on the 64mp lens. im happy with my 13 pro max right know ;)
I bought it as a refurbished this month (Oct 2022) at the price of some mid-range phone and trust me, it's a great deal for me overall! Some pros and cons I would like to mention here in brief: Pros: *Very smooth and vibrant display. (dynamic amoled) *Delivers great performance in multitasking/gaming *Don't lags/jitters at all *Great quality camera *Stable and clear videos (doesn't looks dull, upto detail) *Charging (100% in around 1 hr) Cons: *Looks like some mid-range phone from back *Battery backup isn't quite nice *Networks sometimes low *Warms up sometimes
I just whent from my Google pixel 4xl to the oneplus 8 pro, it is insanely good value right now, and you should take a look at it in 2022 as a tech rewind video
I've had an S10e for the last 2 years. I don't really see the need to get the newest phone since, as you mentioned, the features are similar. I was honestly going to just get another S10 or S10e since the cost of changing the screen myself was more than the phone itself. I really like the s10e size. However, checking the prices I found I could get a refurbished S20 from Amazon for $200. I've been using my work XCover pro this week and the S20 is .1 smaller. It sucks not being able to text one handed to be honest on the larger phones but I've gotten somewhat used to it. On the S10e, I could text/type one handed. I've got pretty big hands and I can almost do it on the XCover. I'm hoping that .1" is enough to make a difference there. I was going to get a S21 but the SD card, lack of apparent differences, and price made that decision for me.
just switched from s20 couple days ago to s22 plus. honestly dont see s22 plus as much of an upgrade, arguably has worse screen due to resolution and i miss being able to change the screens resolution. only problem i had with my own s20 was that the battery had became very very bad at holding charge and the adhesive attaching the back of the phone had became weak causing the back to come off on its own either via overheating or expanding battery. another thing which could very well be exclusive to me was that calls would randomly cut out and i wouldnt be able to send or receive texts for random periods of time. i imagine this is a network issue although i brought it to my provider 3 times and they could not fix the issue, i even changed sim and the issues still persisted. I am now using that same sim in my s22 plus and have had none of the aforementioned issues.
I have the S20 FE which is amazing! The back camera is amazing but the front camera is very very zoomed compared to other phones which can suck if trying to take pictures with multiple people. Also when on zoom or FaceTime it's almost to close up to just hold.
S20+ user here. After the recent software update , a lot of vertical greenline issue is encountered by the users. Not recommending at all! Updated last 9/25, issue encountered 10/7.
I'm not teach savvy sadly, but one of the features I love in my Realme X2 Pro is the stabilisation of video and photos. Is this a feature of the S20 also?
Had my S20 for 3 years now. Been looking to replace it and all the newest phone don't seem to match up. The only one that blows the s20 out of the water is the Oneplus 10 and 11. Unfortunately Oneplus doesn't offer financing so I'll wait and see what the s24 will have to offer. Beside some minor screen burn, my s20 is still going strong.
The snapdragon version might be working great after 2 years but i use the exynos 990 version s20+ and that performs like a budget android. Thermal throttling is common and the phone lags even just scrolling the home screen. Can’t recommend the exynos version.
lol I have one, and that doesnt even happen. Its a bit of cap coming from you. I have the 990 and while its slower than the 865, its still is a flagship processor and performs like one. And for your information, both the 990 and 865 are made by Samsung and the Tensor is based on the upgraded 990 model called the 2100. Software upgrades did a lot to level off the throttling caused by the 990 and it handles all of my games well without any hiccups.
I respectfully disagree I have the exynos 990 Works great for me. Deffinately does not work as a budget phone. Yes it does heat up. But lag whilst scrolling na man that's just exaggeration.
It's hard to keep Samsung phones past the new model release. You're at the mercy of Samsung and the kill updates. My S21 Ultra was perfect... Until the May security patch update.
lol, updates makes things better. updates made things better for my friend’s S21 Ultra camera. The S21 still is perfect even with the updates and updates are important. Apple is the one making kill updates
mine in the same color is still amazing it has an insane amount of ram that surpasses even modern flagships, it has 120hz refresh rate decent cameras, a micro SD slot, wireless power sharing, 5G (extended range only). My issues are just like every Samsung amoled a pretty bad amount of screen burn in and mediocre battery life.
What kind of screen-on-time are you guys getting on OneUI 5.0/5.1? How does it compare to the previous versions? I'm getting 9h sot on Android 10 and I'm afraid to update.
After some years of usage, is that android phone getting laggy or not? I'm taking consideration on the lagging problem that usually happened on Android the longer you use it, should i choose samsung s20+ or iphone xs. I Need a help
I'm trying to decide between the S20 FE for $309 open box and the S20 Ultra for $489 brand new overstock. Is the camera on the Ultra worth the extra $180?
@@stoptheinsanity buy the ultra not 4 the camera but 4 the battery size...its way bigger than how long my cojones can spray water when my wife finger rubbing it forever🤣🤣trust me you wont regret it🤣🤣
This phone will last longer than any Tecno, Infinix, Poco even it the same price it will not but you will not get software major update but if you don't mind it will last longer 3-4 years but you will get small update like improving like that that's it
Just bought my S20 Ultra on the Black Friday sale for $360 +tax. It's certified renewed, but at just over 25 cents on the dollar I couldn't be happier. Was so satisfied with my purchase I also bought the same phone for my wife.
after 2 years of use i WOULD NOT recommend it mainly because of battery it lasts about 2.5-3 hours sot with 120 hz and bluetooth without ao display and if i turn off everything and set it to 720p with 60hz and battery saver wich limits cpu power to 70 percent and it starts to lag than it can last just under 5 hours of sot ... also it heats itself a lot to the point when you cant hold it in hand ...but im using a case so cant feel it much ... also i noticed some of burn in on top where it shows notifications and wifi and battery icons ... i loved this phone im still using it but i cant recommend it im talking about eu version with exsynos 990 idk how usa version preforms
These videos make so little sense. The S20 is a 2 year old flagship, still superior to 95 percent of all Android phone models sold new today. If getting a good deal of course it's still worth it.
The Screen Ratio on the S20 makes it SOO Much More Appealing then the S21-23. The S20 just needs the Back of an S23 and its the best looking phone imo. Shall wait for the next S series.
I upgraded from my S8 to this s20 last week. And for me personally this is a beast of a phone even in 2022. Screen, camera, sound quality, software, performance all of these have been incredible. The only valid complain can be made in regards to the battery, while its not super bad, it's not great either unlike the rest of the phone.
I'm about to upgrade from Pixel 3XL to S20fe.. hoping I'll be happy. Don't do too much surfing/social media or games.. just want a decent android phone.
I shifted from s20 to s21 , it was a great phone , I still miss the glass back , 1440p display, micro SD card slot , But ofc s21 is better , like if I use 120 hz , it will not remain at 120hz all the time unlike s20 , it is flat display and feel better , the cameras are better , the design is better , battery life is better , bcz it don't stuck at 120 hz all the time ,
