Hey everyone. Thank you so much for your uprising response in subscribers. It really is amazing, and I feel the energy from you guys. Thank you all for being so kind and patient with me. I really appreciate it. This is a video comparison between the SAMSUNG S95C, SONY A95L, and THE LG G3. All of which are in the same 77-inch size.
There is some foul play in Dolby vision with the A95L that I have noticed a little bit and I am not able to splitter the Dolby vision signal and the HDR10 plus signal simultaneously so I will have to figure that out. I think the HDR10 PLUS signal versus Dolby vision would have been a more fair trade-off. HDR10 plus is stunning with all 3 of these tvs. So I will do that comparison next. Either way, I would really appreciate it if you all show your love and just talk about what you prefer in the comments. Thank you so much, and I am looking forward to reading the comments as to what you think.

I went with the G3. After some calibration, it’s amazing. I’m a Sony fan, but didn’t want to spend another $1000 for the same size TV.

@holgerfach6084. Heyy thank you for the kind words and for watching the video. Yea im not much of a stats person. I really rather just talk about the way the tv actually looks and not be guided to much by the stats on paper. Most of us are not measuring the eotf or brightness etc. We only have our eyes and perception of what we want our own personal viewing preferences are and that's what makes these tvs the best choices ad they all have there own individual signature advantages over the other. And I just hope it helps and that you all are at least enjoying the video instead of fighting over settings and stats Thank you for your support. Hope to see you more often in the comments.

Thanks once again for sharing this content which is a great help. At the very end of the video the G3 seems to demonstrate aggressive ABL. That would knock it out of contention for me,. ABL is my single biggest consideration between OLEDs.

It’s important to point out that the S95C is being fed a Dolby Vision signal although it is the only one of the three that does not support it. If nothing else this will certainly make it look the least accurate. HDR10 between the three is the only fair comparison in my opinion.

Special look to that a95l man. Also remember my dude use black adjust on the a95l and remember the g3 gamma is tracking higher making it look darker you can lower the gamma on the samsung and the sony to match the lg. Just something to think about. But yeah sony black adjust also works so good imo. I love the way the a95l hones in on the smaller highlights and other things that give this 3 dimmensionality pop. Just remember again you can get the qd oled tvs to have that darker gamma look like the lg while still being brighter.

Yes I do experience more heat coming out of the g3 compared to both the A95L and S95C. 37:15 to me the S95C looks more like a QLED. It is very bright but seems to look a bit too bright in the darker areas. The G3 still got that cinematic OLED look which is great in a dark room. The A95L is really in that spot where you can see the advantage of the QD OLED Panel without overdoing it.

Good video. Anyone who's willing to fork out for the beautiful visual display like this and then is happy to leave its audio for the TV speakers. Needs their ears testing. Remember folks movies are 50% visuals and 50% audio and there are occasions when the audio out does the visuals. Our ears follow our eyes to where the story lives.
@consumerreview2k
@consumerreview2k 7 месяцев назад
@totalplonker824. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. The built-in audio systems built into tvs these days are definitely not the reason behind the decision-making process of buying a tv these days. And at the end of the day, it's a sales strategy, that's all. They want you to buy into the feeling of needing an there external soundbars, etc. This is where i give credit when credit is due. Because Sony does this ingeniously. You see what you get from Sony is more. What Sony does os they will make you pay more for their tv while at the same time giving you more for your money. But yet with an additional option of taking it to an even higher level. Key word option. There really is no need to buy a soundbar as although your paying more for the tv, the tv is not only providing you woth the best processing but it's also giving you the best sound quality 9ver there competition. Sonys A95L xr acoustic surface audio technology is honestly the best sounding tv in the market. Regardless of the sound coming out of the screen and all that, that's not what I'm talking about. Just the sound in general is actually very good and immersive. It really does add for a great ownership feeling as opposed to lets day the s95c or g3 where you spend the money and love the tv, but just like you, Saif sound and audio are 50 50. But the build of the tv does not reflect that. They are more like 80 20. Which is upsetting because you buy this beautiful tv and the sound coming out of it is terrible, which, let's just say, is not a good feeling. The Somy does not make you feel that way. Yhe Sony tv makes it feel more like 50 50. With the option to take it to a higher level not the feeling of having to.

@consumerreview2k
@consumerreview2k 7 месяцев назад
@treyborn2931. Hey, thank you for the comment and for checking out the video. I didn't use any of my dialed in settings on this comparison. I turned off all processing features like live hdr tone mapping and live color and reality creation and just let dv do what it does as natively as possible. And there is definitely some tinting going on that is very odd in dark scenes. All running at full dv in 4k. So I know it's not the settings. I first noticed it when watching the tv all alone without any other tvs it was even noticeable then. Just thought something was a little off. Honestly, it's not that bad, but it's also not the way dolby vision normally looks from what I'm used to seeing with all my other past dolby vision hdr tvs. And no matter how it's dialed in, it's still noticeable. I know that dolby vision has its odd issues with their fair share of tvs, so it's not a big deal to me cause all those issues are pretty small and can get fixed and do fairly quickly. Not all dolby vision issues with tvs are exactly the same as different tvs have different panels with different technologies that display those dolby vision signals. But either way, I see it. And banding, too.

For best comparison with movies, all TVs should be in the industry set filmmaker mode. All other modes have no standards and are dialled in differently by all three brands. Please do this for your next comparison, with DTM on for part of the comparison on all 3 TVs, and DTM off for the other part. That way no one can accuse you of messing up any settings. Also make sure eco mode is turned off on all 3 TVs. We appreciate the great work 👍🏻👍🏻

I have always bought flagship TVs and I'm about to make another upgrade. I've been waiting for the Sony and been patient with how great the Samsung and LG TVs have been. I'm looking at your video and unless it's your camera, the LG seems to really disappear detail in the dark areas, the Sony is a little better at showing some of the fine detail, but the Samsung really seems to be showing a lot of detail. The others don't like in the ground and the bottom part of the ship and some of the wing you can see so much more detail. It is hard to trust RU-vid and other people's tech to know if that's really what I'm seeing. I have had a Sony A1E which suffered burn in from gaming on it to my current LG CX and am at my upgrade cycle. I buy default. Was thinking Sony as they are the sister, to Panasonic. But unless your camera is just not capturing things at that certain angle, I am not sure what you were seeing since then. Samsung seems to have by far the most detail in its image.
@consumerreview2k
@consumerreview2k 5 месяцев назад
@maxxximus69. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Actually the Samsung was the tv that did not receive the correct edid signal because I had issues I didn't realize til after. But to your point, the g3 sometimes can look sifter them the A95L and S95C, and I have a feeling it's because of the white sub pixel in certain instances. I do think that reality creation on the A95L on auto will give you the best results in detail even when compared to super resolution in the g3. The S95C does not have any settings you can enable manually that relative to again reality creation and super resolution. But S95C tone mapping I do like inmost cases the most. Specular highlights and the highlight details look the best moat times in my personal opinion on the S95c. This is a specific opinion for 4k hdr movie content. I think low bit rate streaming does change things

@@consumerreview2k I appreciate you. One thing I took pride in when I used to make videos was always trying to answer everyone. I am about to purchase a new set. Currently I have a 65-in CX but have that desire for the next thing. It is come down to the A95L, qn900c, and G3. Right now the G3 is on sale here in Canada at $2,000 less than the A95L for the 77-in sets. I also want something I can game on without worry. So the QN 900c is a consideration. I also like just having different technologies in my home since I have a Panasonic plasma, Samsung j and 9500, and LG CX. But ultimately I am looking for the best Swiss army knife. The only television I have ever had that suffered burn in having owned three plasmas, and 30 OLED sets from gaming was my Sony A1E so I am still looking at Sony sideways. Not to mention the A1E Dolly vision was garbage. Outside of that it was the best picture quality I had ever seen. It is a tough decision but the lucky thing is there are so many good choices that I don't know that there is a wrong answer.

@bentjonk 7 месяцев назад
Coming from a80j, the s95c is really great. If you like smooth picture beats the Sony with ease. That's been my experience. It's a good all-rounder. Also, the picture is much calmer to your eyes on the s95c in sdr and hdr where I always found the Sony aggressive in sdr and dolby vision. Personally I don't suffer from image dropouts with a ps5. Combined with its nice thin design and the Connectbox it is a piece of masterpiece for me. I do use an Apple TV which definitely puts down better hdr than the apps on the TV itself. I use the filmmaker mode for everything, and gaming mode standard with filmakermode settings, its beautiful but my S95c certainly does not produce an image as demonstrated here, and then in a positive way, because it can really be of the same level as the Sony, but quieter and smoother.

@sambowks. Hey, thank you for the comment and for checking out the video. I used to have th CX. 2 of them, actually. And yes, I do remember the cx always having the black crush issues, and then when you would raise the black levels, it would cause noise issues and color banding. Especially in low bit range streaming content. But when playing hdr games, it was great. The G3 has gotten better with the way you can customize the blck levels without losing details, but it's not perfect. Especially in Dolbly vision. So many times, it has to do with which hdr format is playing at the time. I personally like hdr10+ much better than dolby vision as even in filmmaker hdr10+ looks better than dolby dark or bright. But again, that's just a personal opinion. That's what makes this space so great. Everyone has all different preferences and they're all pretty good.

In this video, A95L 1st. G3 2nd, and S95 3rd. I do feel the settings on the g3 need to be tweaked a little, seems to be crushing some blacks. I did order the G3. But you can't go wrong here. fyi, here in Canada, BF prices for 65" are LG $3099, S95 $3099 ( was 3199 and they matched LG lol) and Sony $4999.99. If Sony even got to 3999 it would be a consideration, but even then, I'm not sure the difference is that justifiable. QDOLED still scares me a little where its new. Burnin and reliability.

But I do think that if one were to base a decision off of what they would purchase based on which tv has the ability to fine to the black levels the best. It is, in my humble opinion, the g3. Especially in game optimizer. I truly feel that the G3 fine tunes the blacks better than the A95L and especially the S95C.

I don't know about that. My A95L is sitting at DE of .9 with just 2 point white balance changes. The Sony is also tuned from the factory. Users are finding that they all wind up more or less making the same changes. You can use calibrated settings from others without worry. That has never been the case with an LG Oled. I will give the G3 some credit, though. It is mildly better oob than the Sony based on measurements.

The more I look the more I go with LG G3. The differences are minuscule but I like more natural color, contrast and clarity than pop out colors esp. the reds in Qdoled is unnaturally too red and the dark scene you have to give it to LG. Too much of color pop is too tiring to watch after an hour and feels like fantasy color than natural feel (One thing to remember is the benefit of oLED is natural blacks and contrast). With warranty, price and years of experience on burn in, Samsung missing DV and Sony putting sony tax sorry I will be with LG and ordered one. Great comparison.

The differences are miniscule? I really think that's a poor statement considering the obvious and stark difference of the LG compared to the QDOLED, especially the Sony A95L. Nobody is saying Sony is second but you got to take everything in it including cost, clarity, warranty, burn in, processing power, value, features etc. then you can grade them. TL;DW: - LG G3: Offers clearer definition and deeper blacks, making it preferable for scenes requiring high contrast. Its picture quality stands out even if colors can be less vibrant in certain scenarios. Recommended for its overall picture pop and gaming features. - A95L: Has vibrant colors and detail that are eye-catching, but there are issues with Dolby Vision, such as a green tint and banding during streaming. The gaming experience is noted to be dark, which may not appeal to all gamers. - S95C: It's the brightest of the three, with more vivid greens, but it tends to look flat and washed out in direct comparison. It might be suitable for those prioritizing a brighter display over color depth and contrast.

@TL;DW. hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Sorry for the late reply. Yea they definitely have there advantage over one another. It really depends on what each individuals personal preference is. It seems to me that most people are choosing the S90C OR S95C. I personally like the A95L the most due to it having what both the other 2 tvs offer all in one even if it's not fully offering the others strengths. For example. I like the color vibrancy of the A95L, even though it cannot get as vibrant as the S95C. I like how the A95L can at times give you great contrast and 3d pop, although the 3d pop is not as in depth as the g3. But ut still can manage to do both. The g3 cannot and neither the S95c. Only the A95L can do what all the tvs can even again if it's not to the level the others can.

After seeing G3 with my own eyes in the stores, I like that 3D pop on the G3 (LG oled always have a little detail crush with HDR10 and Dolby vision). I've literally had Sony push an OS update to my TV that I didn't want(I had auto updates turned off), that broke my eARC. I have a full surround sound system with Dolby Atmos. It was the Google TV update that started rolling out ads, so I'm sure they had a revenue stake in pushing it out. I reached out to them about when a fix was coming and they told me there was no date for a fix. That was the last Sony TV I bought. They have a track record of abandoning TVs as soon as the new model of that TV is out. I hear they currently have Dolby Vision bugs on the A95L and lag issues. I expect them to fix it, but if or when other bugs surface, I don't expect them to care when the new A95 comes out. 5k is a lot to swallow for a TV that will be abandoned in a year. I believe a large number of the people willing to drop that kind of money on a TV, update every year so that maybe it's not be an issue for that demographic. I've heard Samsung sucks at support as well. In fairness to LG, I believe they have a great track record of supporting their TVs over multiple generations.

I had a Samsung TV for a short while but returned it as I just couldn’t stand the artificial looking images and over saturated pictures and despite multiple adjustments it just didn’t look right. The sound was also bloody awful. I know some people like that sort of look in a TV but I don’t, I prefer the natural look and good image processing. Till date I don’t know of any TV manufacture that does picture quality and decent TV sound, better than Sony does. Moreover I keep my TVs for a long time so I need them to last. @Rkoen2006. Hey thank you so much for your comment and checking out the video. Yes as a matter of fact what I usually do after a comparison such as this one is follow up with another one having all 3 tvs running on the same hdr format which will have to be hdr10+ and I hope tonsee you in the comments cause that comparison will be coming very soon. Thank you again. Appreciate your input. Means allot.

I appreciate when content creators go to the effort of putting these comparisons together but at least make an attempt to allow the tvs to show what they are truly capable of. I don't know how you have the S95C setup to be looking like a washed-out blurry mess, but it's extremely misleading to the average consumer. These 3 tvs are so close in performance to one another that they would have to be side by side to notice the very slight subtle differences. My 77" S90C absolutely destroys the S95C picture that you're displaying here. The S90C is so close in performance to the Sony and LG flagships. Bear in mind, I bought my S90C, a Q990C, a PS5 and a 2 seater Valencia cinema sofa for less than the cost of the A95L.

@planger07. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. I am trying to figure out exactly why the image on the S95C came out the way it did. It is the hdr10 signal coming out of the tv not an hdr10 + signal but either way I'm trying to see how it may have tripped the settings somehow through the splitter, tv or DVD player. I will keep all up to date when I figure it out.

Get 75” something. If paying the A95L money. If ur couch is 10.5-11” away. I have tested. Myself same tv tweaked. 65” love it. Gone to store to check 75” to see if 10% worth up a grade. Omg the 75” is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER in visual u see SO MUCH more. The 65” tv all the details are still zoomed OUT in the tv. With A95L u better off getting a 77” S90C or Hisens U8K or QM8, u just see so Much more . Eyes less zoomed in stressed seeing large shows with lots stuff. 75” is like 40% Larger than 65” lol even tho the size diagno is like 10” more.

@marro2483. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. 1200 dollars more is pretty steep. I personally don't think so. The G3 has been marked down so well and has such great value now that it's hard to turn that down. Just like the same way people love their s90c tvs. Great value. Especially the g3 because it's a true premium tv. Mla tech, great build quality, and a great menu system. And great fine details and picture quality. Game mode is a little dim, but it's still fantastic. It's just to tough to pass on that kind if savings in my opion. Now of they were both at there original price when they first were released. I would think the extra 500 dollars for the A95L would be the way to go in my personal opinion. But not a 1200 dollar difference.

@consumerreview2k 7 месяцев назад
@almir-lq9qw. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. The black crush is something that many people say is a dolby vision issue not a g3 issue. With that said. If you turn on expression enhancer brightness preferred, it dies help with the black crush. It's a quick fix to many while at the other end of the spectrum raising blacks. So at that point it becomes a preference thing. It really does depend on the specific content you are watching or even playing. As while playing in game optimizer settings you can go ahead and change black stabilizer, game black levels, or even fine tune black level too. So they are more able to he dialed on over what the g3 allows you to do through the settings when dolby vision is activated.

I think it isn’t your fault, what’s happening in the comments. As you’ve shown, it’s really really easily to entirely destroy the image on the S95C, like you have. If you have seen the Value Electronics shootout, the S95C beats the G3 in HDR picture. But sadly, Samsung doesn’t let you very intricately tune the picture, so 1/2 clicks left or right, and you have the picture this guy has. When calibrated, the S95C is literally just as good as these other TVs, everyone says it, but sadly Samsungs settings are absolutely awful. And I own one. The operating system is muchhhh better on LG and Sony. But if you get the Samsung right, sort out the BT2020 colour space, and get the settings just right? It’s literally just as good as the other 2, with 4K HDR material. Somehow, this guy has 4K HDR material running, and has destroyedddd the Samsungs picture, which is quite sad. But hey, who cares, enjoy your TVs

I have the 77 inch S95C purchased for 3200. I am not a purist and I love the color saturation offered in 1. the native color space 2. as standard rather than warm2 3. Sharpness at 50% which provides a little pop3d. The fault is that I can't find any setting that perfectly optimizes the image of the most eventful scenes (which the Sony seems to manage better... and what about the G3?) but 3000th difference I think I I'm going to live with it.

If you really want the best color balance for movies where it looks great, then the best device to have is the Apple 4K TV. And I’ll explain why. When you get the Apple 4K TV set up the first thing it will say is pull out your iPhone and have your iPhone screen facing towards the TV and it will automatically do a color testing and it will automatically balance it out for you. And then you don’t have to do adjust anything. It’s the fastest way and easiest way for color balancing and you’ll see a huge difference in it. So easy steps to remember reset your TV to factory or if you haven’t tampered any of the settings on your TV then that’s good don’t touch the settings on the TV. And then hook up the Apple TV and the Apple TV will automatically ask you to put your phone against the TV and it will automatically adjust and balance the colors.
