Thank you! Although I drained and checked the cap deal, it still said SUD. I then unplugged my washer for about 30seconds, plugged it back in, and it worked! It finished the last minute of the cycle I had started and then I was able to rewash!

Been fighting with the machine for months. The dreaded SUDS error and didn’t want a repair guy in my house with Covid and all. Super easy fix, works great now. Thanks for sharing your vid! Guys like me who are too stubborn to read the manual need folks like u out there!
Dear Michael, THANK YOU! I had this issue for more than a month now and google told me that it's due to excess detergent. I went so low with my detergent and tried one load without detergent as well - but no luck. Just saw your video and opened that plastic lid and guess what. It had a mask in it. Well, thanks covid. Just started another load and came here to write a thank you note, hopefully this one's without SUD error,
Thanks sooo much! My husband and I kept getting the SUD error. I was about to call someone to fix it. I watched your video and gave it a go. I found a dental tooth pick, 25 cents and a lot of animal hair. We have dogs and cats. lol And it smelled too. YUCK! WE have kids, dogs and cats! Thanks to you we are up and running again so far.
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Sounds like you’re back up and running. We appreciate you reaching out to us Katherine. Great job...& you’re $0.25 richer than you were prior. Enjoy your night. 😎👍🔧🔩
Thanks buddy! Just a heads up, like the video says, really be sure to turn it back in until you hear the double click sound or else the SUD error still shows. And also, I had to unplug and plug my machine back in after doing the awesome steps from the video to get the SUD error to disappear. So far so good!
Hi. This video was extremely helpful! I did everything in the video along with removing and cleaning the soap dispenser and the area. Unplugged the washer for about two minutes and it’s working fine.
thank you this fixed my issue! Previous owner clearly had dogs because the part that you pulled out on my machine was completely filled with dog hair. Cleaned it out and its running perfect now.
All those items can definitely cause a blockage. We appreciate you watching and reaching out to us David. Welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Enjoy your day. 😎👍🔧🔩
OMG! You're brilliant! I've been on chat with an Samsung expert. She was no help and ended convo with " get a Repair person". I asked about the front drain area and she never responded! So glad you are a RU-vid giver! BTW- Filled with dog hair, toothpicks, and labels!
Thanks for watching & sorry to hear you had a rough convo with support. We are so happy to help. Us DIY’ers need to stick together! Dog hair, toothpicks, & labels sound like the common items, welcome to the club...😁 Hopefully many stress free days ahead for you Patti. Enjoy your night. 😎👍🔧🔩
I bought the Samsung washer in July 2022 and we were getting g this error. Ran across your video due to the SUD error and we found dog hair, alcohol swab, a sticker and small pebbles 😪😭 THANK YOU !!!!
Thank you! Over 2 hours on the phone to Samsung, waitlist for a technician and all fixed instead with this video. I didn’t think to check the filter because we clean it monthly and it has been done only 2 loads previously. There was a baby sock rolled up and stuck in with the filter. It took some gentle pulling to get it out but we’re perfect once again

Thank you! This fixed my machine! I have a baby on the way and my machine not working was really stressing me out. I've never been so happy to hear the little song at the end of the cycle!
Awesome, and congrats on both the baby and the successful DIY project. It’s an incredible and rewarding feeling when accomplishing your projects and saving time in the process. Welcome to the DIY Raptor Club, enjoy your weekend. 😎👍
I can never fix anything on my own but your video worked! it was simple and easy to follow instructions and my SUDS error went away and washer is working! Am following you now! thank you!

Appreciate the video! I’ve followed the instructions for that drain every 2 months for 4 years now. Never found much. Guess I skipped a cycle…. Was clogged with pet hair!
Thanks for watching & we appreciate it, us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together! We actually just checked ours a few days ago. Checking on a regular basis drastically reduces the chances of a failed pump. 😎👍🔧🔩
Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful video!!!! We have 3 animals so when we do laundry, it seems as though all the pet hair clogs up. I pulled out that filter and it was completely filled to the rim with animal hair, and misc things. The washing machine always smelled like urine and after draining the water from the tube it seems to be slowly going away - here’s hoping the laundry smells fresh once the cycle is done. Thank you again!
Good morning ☕️ Animal hair buildup will definitely do it. And that’s a great point…now that it is cleaned out…you may notice a fresher cleaner smell. 😁👍
I was today years old when I found out that there is a drain hose. I’ve had my washer for 7 years and in the past I thought it was normal to clean out the filter and try to contain the rush of water. I had no idea there was an easier way 🤦🏼♀️
Thanks for watching & we appreciate you reaching out to us. It’s always fun leaning something new. Thanks for sharing this Jessica, hopefully many stress free days ahead for you! 😎👍🔧🔩
As I found the panel ... with a sticker saying ‘remove and clean drain every two months’ I realized that in some aspects my husband and I aren’t star pupils at adulting... since we’ve had this machine for four years... and today we found this video... and our drain filter. Holy. Cow. Four years x two dogs x twins that were 4 year olds when we got the machine.... gross is an understatement. I had to bleach the drain plug itself to tame the odor!🤢 Thank you for the detailed guide, especially the ‘little tips’ like having the towel handy for very clogged filters and the need to be gentle with the tubing and plastic parts
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Sounds fun & the same thing happened to us years ago. We purchased a house & the washing machine was 4 years old...&...well...it kinda looked & smelled like it was never cleaned...not ever...🤣 We appreciate you reaching out to us. Thanks! Just had the sud error and I drained the little hose. I knew the filter was ok I cleaned that last night. But today I cleaned the machine with a cleanser I should have did a plain water cycle afterwards

Thanks. This was a good help and fixed my problem. I would add to the removing the filter portion - I had to tug and wiggle it free from bound up hair - It is GROSS. It smells rancid and is filled with hair based sludge. I definitely earned a Klondike bar.

This is probably obvious for most people, but can I open and clean the filter during the washing (rinse) cycle? I have the SUD code and more than 1 hour later it didn't go away. In your video you conveniently clean the filter when there is no SUD error, but I'm wondering if I can do it WHILE there is a SUD error?

Thanks for educating the community and appreciate your volunteering Thanks to team Could you please post some more videos with small small tip which any one could do without a mechanic
thanks so much, I expected it to be dirty and it is but couldn't believe it clogged too since my daughter's sock was in there too. no idea how it got in there. LOL, Thanks so much for the clip.
@@zymriemontufar1 Thanks for watching, that’s no fun. A new machine should not be giving you any fuss, that’s not cool. Have you performed this procedure a second or third time? Disclaimer: My washer is 1 month old so my solution to the problem may not work for most Not sure if this will work for others but in my washer there were bubbles which I scooped out. Once I did this and wiped off the inside of the washer the error went away. Another comment I read said that they unplugged and replugged their machine and it worked. Good luck 🍀

Hi i just purchased the machine and in the first wash i got this annoying error. The machine stopped for over 15min and then worked yet i felt the clothes shpuld have been more dried. The filter as in the new machine was clean and all lines are clean. I am not sure whats the cause any input would be great. Thank you
Thanks for watching, being brand new…you shouldn’t be having any issues however since you are, you may want to have that checked out by the company you purchased it from. 👍
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Thanks for reply they said I can return it. I got it in Black Friday deal and really didn't want to return it but I think washing machine needs to be more simpler and I may return it and buy a normal washing machine
@@tariq3877 Awesome, and thanks for the follow up. That’s a good idea. A brand new washing machine giving you troubles right from the get-go is not good. Who knows what that machine would do moving forward…
Hey, your video has been SO useful! My family recently moved into a new house and the previous family left their washer and dryer. You've helped with the suds issue, but I can't pull out the filter 😭 It just keeps spinning. I saw a different comment about the same issue and read your reply, but that didn't work either. Any ideas? Oh, and did you mean to have a link under the #2 in your pinned comment? Because we had that issue. Except it would say Suds during the rinse part. I hope you're still an active channel! You've been a blessing to start with!
Thanks for watching, we have copied & pasted our comment from your other video request in hopes that it helps. 😎👍 Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. At this point you will need to replace your filter housing. This part connects to the Drain Pump motor/housing. This is a friendlier fix than you think. 😀👍 Below is a link to a video replacing a pump motor to a different washing machine however you will see the filter housing part as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M2LltDIjNl0.html Please keep us posted. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Update! Before we tried anything else we double checked the manual and missed a page about the filter! Turns out the child safety lock was on (which is both hilarious and humiliating) and my mom was able to get the filter out! 🙌🏻 That explains the spinning. Both my dad and I failed to get the filter out even with the idea to push in 💀 At least it was an easy fix. We would have had no idea where to start so once again, thank you!
@@ChicNuggetu OMG...😁...we appreciate you sharing your update. Great to hear you’re back up and running. Hopefully many stress free days ahead for you. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@ChicNuggetu help!! We also got this washer from buying a house and I think are having the same issue, only we don’t have the manual. Is the child safety lock when it spins and clicks? And you said pushing it in unlocks it? Because I’m trying that and it’s still not working! What page of the manual are you referencing? Thanks!!
@@skitzkit Yes! So sorry to get back to you late I got a new phone and I still have to turn on notifications for some apps. The child safety lock is when it spins and clicks! You do have to push it in and turn it counter clockwise in order to completely take it out. I don't know why but my dad and I struggled with that but my mom got it easy, so if you don't get it after five tries, KEEP TRYING! This is mentioned in page 52 of the Samsung Washer manual. :) (It mentions unplugging the power chord, but we didn't do that bc we can't reach it where the previous family placed it, it should be fine to do it without unplugging, just make sure the machine is off, and drain it with the little hose connected!)
Savings a few hundred dollars is awesome! You can spend that money on something more meaningful. Let us know if you have any questions, enjoy your night. 😎👍🔧🔩
Hi, I wish I saw this video before. I emptied the filter then tried to put the stopper back on and the hose accidently retracted in the machine - I can not feel the hose now. Do you have any technical advise how to get the hose out as it leaks if I turn it on?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. We have had viewers mention that by having one person tip washer a few inches up & another carefully going below to grab hose & shift it back in to place is an option. Another option is to remove the front panel. Below is a link to our video showing this process. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S4mUgGSK2uM.html Although we are removing the panel on a dryer in this video, it is the same steps. Please keep us posted on your project. 😎👍🔧🔩
hey man! our washer is showing the Sud error in spite of, y'know, no suds. The access pipe that you showed yourself draining in the video has a very steady stream on our machine, and it doesn't seem like a small container will be able to collect all of the water. We're afraid to pull the filter, since there's still so much water coming out. any advice?
What’s up Vinny, welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Let’s get this figured out. You may need to perform a system flush. Below is a link to our video showing the steps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NDOGVtlUDss.html Although we are working on an LG machine in this video, it works for Samsung as well. However it may not drain efficiently due to a clogged pump filter. If the system detects a clogged filter during this flush, it will shut the system down for safety purposes.

Thanks for the great video! I just found a mask in there also! After getting the SUD error over and over, we just kept pressing 'start' and the machine would attempt to finish the cycle. Eventually it would get there... Although this time, there was an almighty cracking sound, then dirty water spillled out from under the machine. Do you reckon it's ruined, or is there some sort of pressure relief valve for the drain pump which had simply released???
@@nathanlouey Thanks for watching & sharing your experience. It’s possible that the motor itself was overworked & has begun to leak. We recommend replacing pump & double checking the filter is clean & clear. Keep us posted, us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together. Enjoy your day Nathan. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Thanks for the reply!! the machine finished it's spin cycle and pulled the water out fine, so I think the pump works OK? I tried to start a new cycle however and as soon as the machine started filling, water flowed into the floor... I guess I'll start pulling it apart to see where the water is leaking from
Hello, I did everything in your video (my washer is less than a year old, probably about 10 months or so) and it still has the error code. My filter and stuff wasn't extremely dirty but I cleaned it anyway. Any suggestions?

Pleas help. Brand new washer. SUDS error. Did exactly as shown in video. Lots of Water came out of the black pipe, end cap re-installed right, filter clean, everything rinsed. Error persists. Will not draw water into the machine
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Now that the filter is clean, you may need to perform a quick system reset. We recommend unplugging machine & leaving unplugged for a minimum of 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, plug machine back in & begin new cycle. Also, verify water valves that supply water to machine are both open. Keep us posted. 😎👍🔧🔩
After I replaced the filter, there’s a clicking noise and no water is making it past the filter (just a few drops underneath the filter compartment). Any thoughts?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. It’s very possible that the filter is not positioned properly inside the pump housing. Please keep us posted. 😎👍
I did three loads of cat beds after receiving my new washer and the sud code came on so beings I bought it specifically for my rescue I will check filter after every load or two. I knew when I saw the easily accessible filter on the front, I knew I better get it... But it's interesting how my old duet filter only needed cleaning about once a year! So this filter system must be more sensitive and probably catches more debris. Ill try it on the morning and how I fix it. Thank you for video because my manual booklet did not mention the drain connected to sud code.
Question… I discovered your video after already starting a load. So of course when I tried to take that thing out to clean it water went everywhere. How do I get the machine to finish the wash and drain the water so o can clean it
Thanks for watching, welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Great question, check out the video link below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NDOGVtlUDss.html Although we work on an LG machine in this video, it’s the same procedure for your Samsung unit.
Thanks for watching, we hope you found our video beneficial. You definitely don’t want to tug on it any more than a friendly manner. Hello, I found the little draining hose on the bottom and managed to open it but the water just keeps coming out as if I've opened a sink tap so I've now closed it and I'm afraid to open again. Is this normal? Does it just mean there is more water than on the video and I need to completely drain it? Got about 500ml so far...
Good morning & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Your machine surprisingly holds a good bit of water at bottom of bowl & in hoses after each cycle. We recommend placing a bowl similar to one in this video & allowing it to fully drain. Please keep us posted. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Thank you for your advice! We managed to drain the water and clean the filter, there were a few colour catcher sheets stuck there too so this might have been the reason! It works fine now and I have already run a few cycles :) Thank you!
