A driver was rescued from a storm drain early this morning after fleeing the scene of a crash along SR-78 in #SanMarcos.
The single-vehicle crash was first reported at about 11:45 PM Thursday in the westbound lanes of the freeway near the Nordahl Road exit. The driver fled the scene of the wreck before apparently crawling into a storm drain nearby. The driver became stuck in the drain and upon being located by fire crews, a rescue operation began.
About 40 minutes after the collision, the driver was successfully extricated from the drain by firefighters. Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
