If I have a new phone and save my pics and videos from this iXpand from my old phone, will I still able to transfer the pics and vids to my new phone in a proper date?
Thank you for the great tutorial. Trying to figure out how to properly eject the iXpand from my iPhone11. When I called support, the only answer was to turn off the phone. Is there better way?
What if I bought a new phone and i want to transfer my photos and videos from the usb to the new phone, will the photos be still arranged in the camera roll according to date taken?
So I go on a lot of vacations to a variety of different places and I have albums on my Mac that I would like to transfer to my phone. Are you able to drag a physical folder from your computer and copy it to the flashdrive? I need to free up space on my mac and this seems like the device I need! I really like how there is an app to interact with the files so I can see them on my phone if I ever wanted to show someone.
If you're experiencing issues with the SanDisk iXpand Drive automatically backing up your iPhone photo gallery, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem: 1. **Check iXpand Settings:** - Open the iXpand Drive app on your iPhone. - Go to the "Settings" within the app. - Look for any automatic backup settings and disable them if you don't want automatic backups. 2. **iOS Settings:** - Go to your iPhone's Settings. - Scroll down and find the iXpand Drive app in the list. - Check if there are any permissions related to automatic backups, and adjust them accordingly. 3. **Uninstall and Reinstall:** - Try uninstalling the iXpand Drive app from your iPhone. - Reinstall the app from the App Store. - Set up the app again and check if the issue persists. 4. **Contact SanDisk Support:** - If the problem continues, it's a good idea to reach out to SanDisk's customer support. They may provide specific guidance based on your device and software version. 5. **iOS iCloud Settings:** - Sometimes, iCloud settings can interfere with third-party backup solutions. Check your iPhone's iCloud settings and disable any automatic photo backups if you're using iCloud for this purpose. 6. **Update App and iOS:** - Ensure that both the iXpand Drive app and your iPhone's iOS are up to date. Developers often release updates to address compatibility issues. 7. **Check for Background App Refresh:** - In your iPhone settings, go to "General" > "Background App Refresh." - Make sure the iXpand Drive app is allowed to refresh in the background. If the issue persists after trying these steps, contacting SanDisk support would be the best course of action. They can provide specific assistance based on the model of your iXpand Drive and any unique features of your iPhone.
some of my photos disappeared from my iphone because I don't have enough memory, do you know if they still in the memory, if I do a back up they would appear again? everything happens when I did an upgrade : (
I assume the video recording isn't the native app? Are there any settings for resolution and frame rate? As the 8 can do 1080@240 up to 4k@60, but I don't know if the USB 2 interface can handle that?
So does that mean I can transfer all of my Apple iTunes music into the drive and if so, can music play from it once I turn the screen off and how is it’s battery life usage?
If you were to keep this in your phone all the time would that be extra storage at all times? And is there a way to charge your phone while this device is still in it?
Hi! Very crisp and clear video! I have in my PC a folder of my photos organised in sub folders (vacation, weddings, grandkids, birthdays etc) that I want to copy them over into my iPhone (2016 SE); will they be in the same folder arrangement? TY.
Hello, I don't think so. I recently did a video of the new version of this stick (available from the video description below) in which I have shown how the files are being displayed at your computer. Daniel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yj1g6tBY6QA.html
is it just for pictures? because I'm trying to use my iPad for writing assignments and I want to be able to back them up to a computer if needed. and I have the SanDisk drive but it doesn't show writing documents and or wont let me put them into that drive. only pictures it seems.
Hello are the original dates of when the photo taken preserved for each photo file when transferred from iPhone to USB to PC (I understand files grouped by year/month folder as seen in your video, but couldn’t see if every file in that folder has kept the original date time stamp of when photo was taken)
Hello, there is the option to clear the space, but it's not doing it on default. Here is a new version of this video --> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yj1g6tBY6QA.html
Hi! I’m curious if it works properly eventhough iphones have to do software updates all the time? Does it work with ios 12.3.1? I want to buy one, but I’m not sure if i can use it in the future or will it just waste my money? please help,. Thank u
Does this maintain data such as when the photos were taken and ensure they get transferred under the same dates that they were on the original device? Or does it just add it to the very end of the photos list?
Well, I never transferred any photos back from this stick onto my phone. I only did a backup and while doing so I noticed that it saves all files like photos and videos in a format of year, month and date.
the daniel life oh ok.. so is that organised relative to the dates they were transferred to the stick? Or dates they were taken using the original device?
i only want to back up certain photos to the flash drive....but can't figure out how to do. My phone runs out of battery also way before everything is downloaded. it takes like almost an hour to save about 150 photos....and I have 20,000 photos to save.
I have a lot of PDF files of E-Books I downloaded on my iPad, that I wish to save to this flash drive, they are stored in “Books” on the iPad. They are using up most of the space on my iPad and I don’t wish to loose them. A guy in the electronics store told me to buy this flash drive to do it, on explaining to him what I wanted to do. However, it will not show these book files on my iPad to save them to this flash drive. What do you suggest thanks.
Hello, as far as I know, it does not backup Whatsapp conversations, but it does backup social media content, like pictures, videos etc. which you have shared with friends on your social media accounts. Daniel
Hello from Germany and thanks a lot. Have you notice that there is a new version available? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yj1g6tBY6QA.html
I have about 900 notes. I think it’s called Apple Notes or notepad. I cannot access them through the iXpand and even if I go to the note files directly, I can only transfer one of the files one of one at a time but first I have to save it in my file folder and title it which is very time-consuming and difficult. I can’t do this 900 times. Any advice?
Hello from you local device. Have a look at the new version which I just made a review of ✅ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yj1g6tBY6QA.html
After coping files to the SanDisk , they are still on the device right? So to finish clearing space on, in my case, my ipad, I have to go back to that and delete these items off the ipad right?
I didn’t see that. Is it safe to plug it back in? I must have done something wrong in the beginning. I was initially looking to just remove all the videos first but it seemed to load pix. I missed something along the way
@@the_daniel_life Is not necesary. Just download the “Documents” app from the app store and it will play them, create a playlist and everything. It can also be used for many other things, check it out.
Hi Daniel, did the sandisk or your computer organize all of your images and videos for you BY YEAR AND MONTH? That is amazing but mine doesn't seem to be doing that. That would be extremely helpful. Any advice on how to trouble shoot my phone battery dying before the files are all copied? Then seeming to have to start all over..thanks so much.
Hello! It seems there might be a couple of issues you're experiencing, and I'll do my best to help address them. Regarding the organization of images and videos on your SanDisk iXpand, the organization might depend on how you copy the files and the structure you have on your source device. The iXpand itself doesn't typically organize files by year and month automatically. The organization is usually maintained based on the folder structure or the way the files are stored on your source device. If you organize your files into folders by year and month on your computer, the iXpand should maintain that structure when copying. As for the issue with your phone's battery dying before the files are fully copied, here are a few suggestions: 1. **Charge your phone:** Ensure that your phone has sufficient battery life before starting the transfer process. If your phone is low on battery, charging it during the transfer may help prevent interruptions. 2. **Use a stable connection:** Ensure a stable connection between your phone and the iXpand. Sometimes, interruptions in the connection can lead to issues during file transfer. If possible, keep the devices close to each other and avoid any movement that might disrupt the connection. 3. **Check for software updates:** Ensure that both your phone's operating system and the iXpand app are up to date. Updates may include improvements to stability and performance. 4. **Copy in smaller batches:** Instead of transferring a large number of files at once, try copying them in smaller batches. This can help prevent potential issues with the transfer process. 5. **Troubleshoot the iXpand:** If the issue persists, you may want to check for any specific troubleshooting steps in the user manual of the SanDisk iXpand or visit the SanDisk support website for assistance. If you continue to encounter problems, it might be helpful to provide more details about the specific issues you're facing so that I can offer more targeted assistance.
Well. You can copy and paste some files onto this additional memory. You can play and review the files from there, but it does not extend the memory of your phone. Daniel
Kienan4321 yea this is meant to transfer files back and forth from phone and pc/Mac. You can offload the content on your phone to a computer then delete the files on your phone to make more room.
I need help please, at the beginning after the transfer from iPhone to the drive, it ask me if i want to delete the pictures or videos since one week i become this feature not anymore
Hello, there should be a red button which says that. I made a new video of the SanDisk Expand. Make sure to have a look at this one, Daniel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yj1g6tBY6QA.html
can whatsapp chats/files/images/videos be backup in such a manner as well? I understand when the retailers change your smartphone battery or memory chip, all details and apps will be gone for good.
How can you tell if the photos / documents have loaded to the iXpand drive and you aren’t just seeing them from your phone? Does the iXpand automatically delete the photos/ files it has just copied ?
The SanDisk iXpand Drive is designed to provide additional storage for your iPhone or iPad and allows you to transfer photos, videos, and documents between your device and the iXpand Drive. When you transfer files from your iPhone to the iXpand Drive, it doesn't automatically delete them from your phone. Instead, it creates a copy on the iXpand Drive. Here's how you can check if your files have been successfully transferred to the iXpand Drive: 1. **Use the iXpand Drive App:** - SanDisk usually provides a companion app called "iXpand Drive" that you can download from the App Store. Open the app, and it should show you the files that are currently on your iXpand Drive. 2. **Connect to a Computer:** - You can also connect the iXpand Drive to a computer using a USB port. When connected, you should be able to browse the contents of the iXpand Drive, similar to how you would with a USB flash drive. This allows you to verify the files on the drive. 3. **Check Storage Space:** - On your iPhone, you can check the available storage space by going to "Settings" > "General" > "iPhone Storage." If you've successfully transferred files to the iXpand Drive, you should see an increase in available storage on your iPhone. 4. **Verify File Integrity:** - Open a few files directly from the iXpand Drive using the appropriate apps. For example, open a photo using the Photos app, a document with a document viewer, or a video with a video player. This ensures that the files are accessible and intact on the iXpand Drive. If you're using the iXpand Drive app, it usually provides a clear interface to manage your files and view what's stored on the drive. Always double-check that your important files are successfully transferred and accessible before considering any deletions from your phone. Remember that the process may slightly vary depending on the specific model of the iXpand Drive and the version of the app you are using. If you have the user manual for your iXpand Drive, it could provide more detailed instructions based on its features.
Is there any reason it takes so long? I've been trying to put a few 100 photos onto it from my iPhone 8 and I'm connected to wifi. Its been 2 hours and it has saved maybe 200
i tried copying all my pictures at once but after 8 pictures get shifted it says timeout failure. is this something normal? how can I fix this issue? i have an iPhone 6s
@@robertohicks9467 How’s your i xpand drive working? Mine’s OK - I have concerns about it, tho. I actually just bought a 2nd one (slightly different) with even more storage (256 gb - I am addicted to photos/ screenshots etc !) Don’t know what’s gonna come of these; fingers crossed.
@@LionsOfHope Didn’t get one due to the power required to play a tv file. Instead enquired direct to Apple if a lightning device would work with my current USB’s. They said no and advised I looked into cloud storage.
Thank you for sharing the step by step video. It's seems the app only accepts iOS 10 and later. Those lower than iOS 10 you just can't download them. Is there an alternative way to download/backup my files?
Hi does the photos n videos transfered to iXpand from iphone, still holds its original dates and time of the photos / videos taken? I saw on your youtube video that its sorted by years and months, did you foldered it that way in your iphone? Or iXpand did the sorting? how about foldered by date? Thanks!
