For those that still think the Mercedes's bump was unintentional i'll just say this: if it wasn't for the Alfa slowing it down it would've missed the turn completely and run straight into the Opel, it's the same as 5 a year old playing Gran Turismo and using other cars to brake and corner. It was fully intentional and planned by Mercedes to win the championship, they've been doing it time and time again in different racing leagues.

I can't get enough of '93-1996 DTM and ITC. Thanks to all the people who have uploaded those races and any footage in general. Now I have to dig in to the old BTCC races I've never seen.

That was dumb on a biblical level. If you're going to take someone out you should at least try a make it look accidental. Asch just torpedoed Nannini, nothing accidental about it, just simply drove into the back of the Alfa and pushed it around. I can't blame Nannini for that, I don't agree with it, getting payback on the track is always dangerous but I can understand it, getting deliberately served by a member of the opposition team who isn't in the title fight is just plain dirty. At least Nannini ended his championship run with a bang, and a very impressive fire. Reminds me of the turbo Alfa engines in F1. I'm sure Asch's team was on the radio telling him that Nannini was out on new tyres so I wonder if he had a brown trouser moment when he saw the Alfa approaching in his rear view mirrors. Nannini was a very tough competitor and certainly wasn't afraid of giving back what he was given...

well. Everybody remembered that this was the only way Mercedes could beat Alfa that year. So it doesn't really matter.

@EHVMichael yeah, it's really probable that Asch made a mistake as glaring as that...if not for Nannini's car he would have completely missed the turn because of late braking, not even a rookie would miss the braking point by that much.

Getting revenge isn't so sweet when you burn your own car down doing it. Then, to top it off, you see your target drive past with what appears to be almost no damage. Poor Nannini was in the grip of the red mist.

Alfa perdió el título de 1994 por falta de fiabilidad y por el gran error de Nannini en la primera carrera de Singen. Mercedes demostró lo que es, una formación militar que no duda en sacar de pista a sus rivales (además sin necesidad) y que entre sí no luchan, aunque sean de equipos diferentes. Que pena.
