These little guys are actually a pretty decent machine for such a small sized vacuum, and "basic" design. I have noticed that Bissell is trying to step into the canister world more with their new Hard Floor expert and their Pet Hair Eraser canister.
These are pretty good compact canisters for what they are. Of all the 3 designs of the mighty mite I think I like original 80s design compared to the 1993 mighty mite ll and the current mighty mite eventho the enviro vac/sanitaire have hepa fliters. I like to get my hands on a mighty mite floorshow which is a original mighty mite with an electric power nozzle which are very rare.
ive been researching forever. I couldn't find any called Mighty Mite II. i just bought a sanataire canister and its just called "Sanitaire Professional" i found a" Mighty Mite"canister and it looked same as mine. Sanataire /eureka must love to confuse us. Ive been confused all day. They all are identical but cannot find info what the difference is between all of them. literally i am researching for 10 FUKING hours!
Mine has two wheels. I dont know the names they are. They all look dentical and cant even find the info comparing the names and models. Its really durable. I dont like the long wands because of suction loss and the canister just quietly drags behind me and it ends up going sideways or upside down and its so light you dont even notice.
I wish they’d go back to crush proof hoses like the first generation had that lasted for the life of the machine. The wheels are fine if you lube them with silicone and spin them around a few times. Just remember to wipe away the excess and clean the bottom of the machine and the rims of the wheels
And the crush proof hoses that came with the original machines lasted for the lifespan of the machines. My vacuum guy in Sunrise Fl fit a new 7’ crush proof hose on my current Mighty Mite’s fittings. It’s much more confidence inspiring to use now.
i bought a mighty mike. loved the quietness and how light it is, loved the suction seemed really good! but no electric beater bar, big disappointment, still the suction compensated sort of not really. fast forward a year hose got clogged got it unclogged but the engine now sounds like an airplane taking off! I'm in the market now for a canister, miele or sebow. tired of replacing vacumms. Is it too much to ask for a no frills canister with an electric brush that has power but isnt do darn heavy?
My grandparents have the yellow eureka mighty might and im ngl its a pretty good little canister vacuum for hardfloors but its a clunky vacuum to roll around and its kind of loud. Its good for a canister vacuum pairing with an upright vacuum for carpet or a way better canister vacuum like a Miele c1 or c3 for a upstairs vacuum and use the mighty might for a downstairs vacuum.
Hey, Thanks for this! I'm getting a Henry. It had the best reviews. I cant stand behind a company that confusing that has three different company names Eureka /sanataire /Bissel.who do you call when something bad happens? Tried to email sanataire cuz I'm missing parts. You cant really email them. You have to fill out a form. I noticed Dodgy companies do that. And the forms dont have a submit button.
Not sure if you were already mentioned it, but there is a better canister made by Sanitaire, the SC 3700A. I just wanna get your take. Not sure if you’ve ever worked with that particular vacuum?
The first Mighty Mites in the late 80s and early 90s were a much better product. Both of mine, the one that I bought my mother, the one that I bought my sister, the one that I bought my friend, and the one that I left with my ex all lasted over twenty years.
Using the aftermarket HEPA bags should take care of that by itself. Since I’ve been using them the chamber in my machines have remained very clean except at the inlet fittings.
I’ve found that if you spray silicone grease into the back wheels once the maneuverability problem is largely solved. With it strapped to my shoulder it’s still my favorite thing to clean the ceilings in my stairwell and the ceiling moldings around my house. It goes quickly that way. That’s why I still keep my Mighty Mites aboard.
I have to laugh because I know the wand so well. On the top is an indentation where you can store the tool clip and have your tools close to the hose end at the top of the adjustable wand. It makes it very easy.
Now that you mention that I don't like doing that because my hands end up bumping the tools. But that's my personal issue for being a 200 pound gorilla 😁
So honest question, what's with the cfm ratings for the different Sanitaire canisters? The red and blue (purple?) Ones on their site are rated @135, but the grey one is rated for 65. I know that's not the waterlift spec, but yeah, why is the grey version so much lower? That aside, I miss the late 80's design of these, my grandparents one is older than me and still being used today!
I'm curious where you found that information published since eureka's website is non-functional right now? I'm only going to speak mechanically here not what may have been published somewhere. The gray and the red Sanitaire version use the same motor. Purple , yellow eurkea vacuum& blue sanitaire vacuum use the smaller motor. As I use the green vacuum in the video to demonstrate.
There really isn’t much left on the market in affordable canister vacuum cleaners any longer. Hoover no longer offers a canister in its lineup at all. Bissell has a few Zooms. Dirt Devil offers a few. None seem to be fully equipped. Eureka hasn’t had a working website in a year so who knows?
I have this vacuum, it's just not made for carpets, it's good for the garage and car cleaning, I don't use it in my house. I use it instead of a shop vac. I guess it's ok for upholstery cleaning, it's too loud and doesn't handle well either.
I say that you put silicone on the back wheels, buy some aftermarket HEPA bags, use the turbonozzle and use it as a Vacuum if the Month. PS the shoulder strap is great for when you’re vacuuming ceilings and stairwells.
@Performance Reviews is the proper term for the pet hair floor tool, turbo nozzle? Between all the rebranding, I can't confidently find the correct one.
How do you know which have best motors? Plz help, ive been reaserching for over 10 hours. Even after i bought this one, because I'm sending this "sanataire PROFESSIONAL" BACK. I really loved it at first
I have the elevators and then it has good suction but the bend in the nozzle makes it prone to clogging I wish you the address to clogging and clearing given the poor design with a bend in the nozzle
I noticed that the floor tool on cover of my manual looks NOTHING like mine, too. Believe ME, its complicated! I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME, FIND INFO ABOUT THE FLOOR TOOL. IT SWIVELS AND CANT VACUUM IN A STRAIGHT LINE.
They did. There are extra vents that bypass the blower port. Blower power stinks and a HEPA filter is useless. Just like the new Eureka models, so I suspect the design change occurred before the sell-off of the Eureka brand to Midea.
Tacony makes a machine under the Fuller Brush brand called the Home Maid. It lists for $199.99 but often sells for $149.99 and comes with a decent tool kit and a cord winder. It appears to be a nice complete package for the price for a straight suction machine. My Miele Pure Suction was $400.00 list. With the turbonozzle it was an additional $110.00. Not everyone can do what we do. I still appreciate a great bargain in the mix when I can catch one.
Am i the only one who notices they're price gouging? Everyone is price gouging and prices are double from before covid. I would love to wait till covid is gone but its sometimes impossible.they do it because they know they can get away with it. Plus i have OCD. I'm going broke!
5:10 uhhhhhh.... ever heard of stairs?? For something this small, would much rather fling it over my shoulder for stairs than lift it up to the next stair every time for 12-15 stairs
