Pretty sure it's illegal in most countries for them NOT to play Europa at their shows. Somebody make a motion, I'll second it and get in enacted into law!😅
Some people say that Santana is not one of the best guitarists, he's not even in the top 10. He doesn't have to be, because he's a magician; it's not about the guitar playing only, it's the magic ambiance he creates with his music. He inspired us to add percussion to our music.
He doesn’t have to be in the lists of top guitarists. The dude knows when to play and how to play. His tone is iconic. His style of playing is iconic. He’s Santana. A legend either way. Edit. Dude is 77 and out there playing iconic riffs and licks while sitting down and chewing gum like he’s reading the Sunday paper. He’s good.
No matter what year 1969-2024 I always have much Love for Carlos and The Santana Band. I had tickets in 2019 for Atlanta and my grandson passed away and I didn’t go, Love all of you❤️🪇🎸🎼🎹🪘🎤🥁❤️
I’ve been fortunate enough to see him in concert four times and they were all magical. He is the son of a mariachi and learned to play guitar with his father, what a great gift that was. I am born and raised here in nor cal and had the chance to shake his hand at a show down in San Jose, he was very gracious, what a gifted guitarist! Santana! 🫶👍
@@JohnHunter-z3t Gregg Rolie formerly of Journey did the vocals on Carlo's version. Later, Gregg and Neil Schon (the only original member left) would go on to form Journey.
Saw the show in Cincinnati on June 28 --- If the nearly 400 concerts I've seen in my life , this is in my TOP 3 !!! INCREDIBLE --- Entertaining -- Sublime --- Spiritual -- and Just Plain FUNNN! 🎸😎🎶💥❤️🔥
What else can you say? Carlos Santana is one of the greatest. Been listening to this man for over 50 years now. Hope he can continue to perform for many years to come.
Gracias!!! escuchar a Carlos con 77 años, con el mismo sonido y ganas que en Woodstock 69, hace que a mis 70s diga, tenemos que seguir, un show muy emocionante, gracias por compartir Thank you!!! Listening to Carlos at 77 years old, with the same sound and enthusiasm as in Woodstock 69, makes me, even in my 70s, say, we have to keep going, a very exciting show, thanks for sharing. Saludos desde Wilde, Bs.As. Argentina
Carlos was and still is a big hero of mine since I was a little kid growing up in California. I've been so lucky to see him and his band play over 25 times!!!!
Santana feels the note via the strings. One cannot feel the note by simply touching the string. Speed merchants touch, they engage briefly. This is where the 'sustain' which he has famously developed ensured his connection with his instrument like no other. The expression of his emotions through the instrument 🎸 allows the guitar to sing as you mentioned. This is why he is unique and instantly recognised via ONE NOTE. A rare musician.
Wow! Excellent video shot. Amazing sound! Had all my friends watch this on my big screen this night with the surround sound! It was just like being there. Thank you and blessings!
the second concert i ever saw was Santana's MoonFlower Tour at (then) Manley Field House. Europa had me in tears. He and his band played *FIVE* encores --- the last of which he dedicated to the stage security controlling the crowd. the man is a living treasure. truly.
Yes I understand how you portrayed the image that some people have of Carlos and his wonderful band. I also understand that he may not appeal to all. I have been following Carlos Santana and the band since my father introduced his music on the legendary 'abraxas' album. I was only 12 years old. Fast forward 50 years and I am still captivated by his energy, spirit and soul. Went to every European concert when touring up to COVID. For me like many millions of adoring fans, he is no.1. ❤
Great! Thanks for the upload!Carlos, Eric, Keith etc….are all in the realm of the Elder Statesmen of Rock…they deserve their place on Mt Olympus of Guitar…period!
I thought i was the only one that noticed...but good thing we still have him around. The day he stops playing (or worse) is gonna be a bad one and a massive loss. A true living legend, none the less.
@@debratrani8583Obviously something going on with him physically… feet, knees, back maybe ? Not like him to use a stool. Probably doing all he can -don’t think it was intentional.
he said that he is having bad sciatica pain and at the shows I saw this summer, he apologized for sitting. I think it is really generous that he is touring in spite of this. I am so grateful and blessed that he played so many shows and I was able to attend four this year.
My dream set list: Treat, Promise Of A Fisherman, Revelations, E Papa Re, Oneness, Gitano, Flame-Sky, Africa Libre, Mudbone, Taboo, Novus, The Calling, Blue Skies, Blues Magic, Mr Szabo, Red Prophet, Fried Neckbones And Some Home Fries, As The Years Go By
It's certainly a matter of taste, but i don't like her style for this band. As an example, Corazon Espinado in my opinion was more played in a rock drums kinda way, lacking that latino rythm. Might be an unpopular opinion, but i do respect yours.
Fan's are Vibing to see Carlos Santana and his "band".. Her style is too aggressive. Doesn't match up with " Santana " Cindy is "not" Carlos Santana. Move on already.
Hay personas que le dieron pulgar abajo,a la musica o video de este maravillosa adoración,dejame decirte que no fue hecha para vos ,sino fue hecha para Dios
I've loved Carlos and his music for close to 50 years. I still buy every album he puts out but I stopped going to see him live in the early 2000s because the set list of his shows almost never changes in any meaningful way. When you've been around for so long, you have to give the people all the fan favorites they want but I'm not one of those people. Give me something new. We're both getting up there in years so I'll make it a point to see him on the next tour though.
Does he ever play anything jazzy, or anything from Caravanserai? I didn't see him or Chicago this summer, but I stopped going to concerts almost 10 yrs ago.
Last March in Kehei Maui, I went to a local Mexican restraunt and sat in a booth that had a picture of Carlos and the owners. Carlos sat in that booth a few months before😃
Carlos Santana is up in age, obviously, but he's still doing it. ... We''re not getting any younger. P.S. , Carlos if you read this message, l would more than lovely inherit one of the Dumble Amps.....?
