Legend since the 60's. I loved seeing Carlos (playing guitar) at Prince's concert. Prince had so much respect for him & they also have Sheila E. in common being bandmates & both engaged to her. Carlos & Prince are also both on Rolling Stone's List of Top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time!!!💖 Rob's voice is awesome!!! PLEASE GET THE REACTION OF THE LIVE VERSION, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE!

Carlos Santana is the guitar player. he's had a long, lengthy career. Amazing guitarist. the singer is Rob Thomas from the band Matchbox twenty. They were huge in the mid to late 90's. Rob even had a successful solo career.

When Santana plays you absolutely know it's him. This entire album, 'Supernatural', was incredible and something of a comeback for him. Other absolute gems from it you might like are 'Maria Maria' and 'Put Your Lights On'.

Carlos Santana is a legendary guitarist who has been around for over 50 years. He rose to prominence at Woodstock and got the audience of about half a million people dancing to his Soul Sacrifice. You should give it a look.

Over 20 years old and still one of my favorite songs!! Santana is a legend and you should definitely check out more from him. Rob is the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty and has solo stuff too that you might enjoy as well. Rob's wife is actually in the video too, she's the woman dancing in the apartment.

This was my favorite song of whatever year it came out and I have never gotten tired of it. One of the best dance songs, obviously. People are talking in the comments about the legend that is Santana and Robb Thomas (lead singer of Matchbox 20) has other good songs as well, but this is my favorite of his. Also, the woman at the beginning of the video riding in the car that caught his eye is Robb's wife in real life, from what I understand. Great choice!

Santana did the whole album "Supernatural" of collaborations with members of other bands. Of all of them, this one with Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 was clearly the best one. Carlos Santana is one of the all-time greatest guitarists who has been going strongly since long before Woodstock. The fact is that as he gets older he gets better. No one compares to his bluesey latin grooves, and the other great hall-of-fame guitarists all look up to him. He and his brother created the band Santana, and together they helped to anchor but expound rock with other cultural influences. I believe Rob Thomas wrote the song for Santana, then Carlos asked Rob to do the vocals as well. That's the version I heard of how this came to be. It's so good.

Rob Thomas is singing. Carlos Santana is the writer and guitar player. There are scores of songs by "Santana" that he wrote and played. But I honestly don't think he ever actually sang on any of them. A couple more songs from that particular album you might like are "Maria, Maria" feat: the Product G&B and "Put Your Lights On" with Everlast. The album was Supernatural. I actually used it a lot when I tutored Spanish a 100 years ago.

Santana were big in the 70’s and 80’s. He’s a guitar genius. Rob Thomas is the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty, you should react to some of their songs. 3 AM, Push, Bent, Bright Lights, If You’re Gone. They are all good. Santana did a series of collaborations with popular singers in the early 200’s. This one, Michelle Branch, Chad Kroger and others. They’re absolutely worth a listen as well. Rob also does solo work. I was lucky enough to see in Cour De Lane. There were only about 200 people packed into a small lounge to see him. Ps... happy birthday!

It astonishes me that no one comments on the superb bass line. It makes the song. The cool thing about this voice is enunciation. He says each and every sound in each and every word, no slurring. BTW, I know you are young but how in the hell have you not heard this before? I can understand not having heard Bohemian Rhapsody or Hotel California, they were from your grandparents generation, but this much more recent.

The song of the summer back in 1999. I was in the same room with Santana once about twenty years ago, right around the time this song was riding high in the charts. But I was too starstruck to say anything to him. There were a lot of other people there too, so even if I had something to say or ask him I probably wouldn't have gotten the chance anyway. The experience still put a big smile on my face. I was also surprised by how tall and skinny he was.

You just discovered the rabbit hole of Santana. He's got a 50 YEAR HISTORY in the music business. PLEASE check out his performance at Woodstock next. He's one of those artists that you can go to ANY of his albums and just blindly pick a song. You'll play it and be like wow that was amazing work. He literally has nothing bad that's come out. He goes all the way back to the 60's and created an entirely new style of guitar playing, writing, recording, and much more! Check out the footage of him and his band playing live in 1969 at Woodstock. If you ever have the chance to see him live, DO IT!! You will not regret it!

Santana - Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va and Soul Sacrifice Santana collaborations (some, not all)- Maria Maria ft The Product G&B, Wyclef Jean Why Don't You And I ft. Alex Band (The Calling) Put Your Headlights on ft. Everlast Into The Night ft. Chad Kroeger (Nickelback) The Game of Love ft. Michelle Branch Wishing It Was ft. Eagle Eye Cherry *Just because it got so much flak when it was released - Push is not about 'pushing' a woman around. It was meant to be about falling in and out of love (toxic relationship) per the band and being scarred by experience per Rob's statements. The person 'abused' in the scenario is actually the guy, which is probably why people had such a hard time wrapping their head around it (more so in the 90's). Personally, it seemed to me like a person that had been pushed around telling their 'abuser' they are going to fight back, but only in their mind. Sometimes those internal dialogues help people to break free. If you don't want to try this song, then 3 AM is a good replacement. Rob's mother passed away from cancer when he was quite young (teens?) and his youth was tumultuous at best. While 3 AM does not have the sentimentality of Train's Drops of Jupiter, it does have quite a bit of warmth.
