I still can't believe in this. I've been a volunteer for olimpics and paralimpics in Sochi 2014, was working with those guys and you know, when I met someone I always tried to look for Sarah there... She will always stay in our hearts, she is incredible, beautiful, amazing and so courageble woman! Her half-pipe made games the best, very interesting and impossible to realize, how can do they all these things?! haha Sarah, from all Sochi volunteers, WE LOVE U and Will ALWAYS REMEMBER ABOUT YOU!
Hm I don't think it's a big deal to spell olimpics instead of olimpic games actually. Anyway, my foreign friends who are sportsmen used to say the same thing, you know? I just want people to remember those who will always stay in our hearts, this is important to me. P.S. Thanks anyway!
A beautiful and talented soul with a heart of gold ❤ . Among those amazing people whom we'll always remember. Such a tragic loss. It seems, like so many amazing people, she was destined to remain forever young. 😢
There arn't very many people that can leave a mark on a sport like Sarah Burke did. You will be missed and always remembered for what you have done for freestyle skiing.
I remember that...only I didn’t realize how beautiful she was! ...in addition to her amazing talent. Heaven received another wonderful angel at least and i prayed that her family found solace in knowing that🙏🏻✝️😇 So sad to lose such a wonderful person here tho.
She went to my school and graduated a few years before I went to the school and I remember in 2012 my teacher told me that a girl who used to go to this school died and it was Sara
I was hoping to see her becoming the future Olympian to compete in the 2014 Olympics. Sarah Burke, you will truly be missed and will never be forgotten.
This was truly a sad thing to hear. She died doing what she loved though, which I suppose is all you can hope for. Half pipes are really dangerous. I used to skate and I once had a really bad fall on one that wasn't as big as these. I pretty much stopped skating after that. Since then, I've taken up snowboarding and I'm getting pretty good. Though I don't think I'll ever attempt to ride a half pipe again.
Lurking in the background of this tragedy is the evil of American health care. Again! The fact that average people are stuck with half a million in medical bills is a crime. I wonder when Americans will wake up. Some things like HEALTH should not be for profit. Lets help pay her bills cause her family doesn't need this on top of losing Sarah.
Sad, but kind of DOUBLE standards. First the family sets up a fundme webpage to ask for donations to pay for her medical bills by her fans and supporters. Then on top of that the SAME family wants to be not bothered and ask to be left aone.......What kind of BULLSHIT is that........
A LOT much Sports athlètes Should think BEFORE going on sport compétition. DID their sport's LIFE AFFECTED BIOSPHERE SOLAR WORLD PLANET? SOMETIME'S HAPPENS CONSEQUENCE'S CAUS their own failure différent influence. DIFFÉRENT motiv.
Sarah was Great! Thats how you ride the pipe! Set the standards way before helemets!!! A halfpupe on the snow!!!!! Think about it!! They wpuld scream at us as kids for jumping on skis!! Ski patrol yelling and cutting your ticket hung by wiicket and saying!!!" If i see the bottom of yoir skis again your kicked off the mountain!!!" Huh????
as if the guy probably didnt wear this hat all the time -- this is the comment you have to say after watching this? LOL. hope you've matured a bit in 8 years. yeesh.
Terrible that she died, but her parents asking for money to pay hospital bills yet asking people to leave them alone and give them privacy. Yea, real classy.
Tony Bologna They needed the privacy to mourn the death of their daughter... its kind of a big deal. & it's unfortunate that she had her accident in the America, which made her have to play a ton of money for medical fees.... if this happened in BC or Alberta, health care would have covered everything and the family wouldn't have had to resort to donations.
They had almost a half a million in bills. Pro skiers and riders have no insurance when their sponsors are holding the event. They want to be left alone to grieve, not to be ignored.
Think of the pain and grief that they were going through. Ten days of watching their loved one hover between life and death, hoping for a miracle against the odds, the exhaustion... Of course they would ask for privacy. There was a lot of news coverage at the time. Sarah was very popular in her sport. She donated all of her organs to local patients needing a transplant. $500, 000 medical bill is beyond ridiculous. Something is very wrong with the American health care system.
RU-vid comments paint a perfect picture of the world... 80% of people are genuine with heart, the other 20% are sad and disgusting cretins that need to stay locked up in their dark rooms! RideInPeace Sarah! ...and I do believe disliking a sad RU-vid video is perfectly natural, you're disliking what happend, not the person who perished!
And there are those people who are rational enough to know that she died because she lived a dangerous lifestyle so we dont feel as much pain towards her death because she just literally killed herself out of stupidity..?So we just try to say DONT FOLLOW HER PATH if you dont want to die young, thats it. No need to make a huge fuss about it.
So, she just fell over, after her run? That is worse than F1 racer Michael Schumacher's injury. He hit his head on a rock while out skiing with his family. He wasn't going fast, and wore a helmet. The family still refuses to update his condition. It likely isn't good!
@larson3222 ''Why would she need help paying when she had millions''... Sarah wasn't a Hollywood star or a NLH hockey player. She was a freestyle skier. Your comment shows a lack of knowledge about this sport. Now think again.
@MrRp25 To be honest, i dont know. I did not know her personally (and im sure you didnt either) so i dont know how she would react. But for me, if i could id make him suffer as much as possible.
I like how the news cast acts like they give a fuck when they dont know a thing about skiing and what an impact people like Sarah Burke have on skiers. Shred In Peace (S.I.P.) Sarah Burke
@isocrate27 Really? I wouldnt be able to have join the Navy let alone walk for the rest of my life if it wasnt for St. Anythony's here in St. Louis, MO. Our hospitals are great here. Where are you from, Australia or somethin?
@sabbottart Ive never seen a single doctor drive a Maybach. Ive seen them drive Mercedes (not the highly expensive ones), MINIs, F150s, Hondas, Toyotas, Chevys, and other cars that ANYONE can afford with an average salary. $35-$55K a year. (to me thats average).
Really? Someone so famous and competing in such a risky sport wasn't carrying enough insurance protection that her family now has to beg for money to pay her medical bills? Wow
Very sad.. :( Why do the greatest of LEGENDS have to die young. She left at the HIGHT/TOP of Her Career. Top in physical form and never seen 30yrs of age. She stayed young and left us as a Young and Bright Beautiful Woman. Sympathys to the Family and Friends. *JCIL+
Breaks my heart, when I heard about her head injury I said a prayer.. Lord I dont' understand but then again it's not me to understand.. I am into Winter Sports, from Dog Mushing to watching all of the sports.. My prayers are with the friends and family.. Rip ..
Watch video "Skier Sarah Burke in a coma after accident" Me: Ah it's just been 9 days, she's probably fine. I mean, what's the worst that can ha- SARAH BURKE DEAD AT 29 AFTER SKIING ACCIDENT *fail*
Doctor : "I have two news for you, first, your daughter just died, I'm sorry." Parents : "Well, there was little hope, we all knew it would happen. What is the second one?" Doctor : "You owe 500 000$ to the hospital." Health Care in USA, the richest country in the world : HEARTLESS...
"Her fearlessness and love of life." Well, she didnt love life that much, did she? What'd she think throwing herself down a hill on 2 sticks at 70mph was going to do?
Exactly what i thought. She was the one who put herself in risk.i would not say she is an example for kids because this sport is extremely dangerous and pointless-unless you want to die for no reason at all because you are an adrenaline junkie. I respect her but i dont look up at her for this reason.
so she pushed for freestyle to be incorporated into the Olympics ,huh??...that's just great....so more reckless young people that think nothing about how close they are to paralysis/death as they can have that attitude" nothing bad will happen to me if I'm only careful"......they continue to push the envelope further and further ,not even realizing that there may be some things that they think of doing, in their inexperienced, young, naive imaginations, they of it in their heads to do it, not realizing ,even as the athletes that they are, that their human bodies may not be capable of accomplishing it....(Jeremy Lusk, Caleb Moore, etc.--- Rest In Peace,---poor guys,.......)plus the coaches that only see the $$$$$$$,hoping for their own fame/glory coming to them through these naive young people that listen..telling them I bet, " go ahead, try that move, that stunt ,that new trick, what have you got to lose?"....sometimes they lose their life...then it's too late to take that statement back(the "X games ,since Moore's death, has now banned doing that particular snowmobile stunt that killed him - what was it, a TRIPLE(!?!?!)backflip .... on a SNOWMOBILE..Are you KIDDING ME ???!!??!!....in my opinion, that is asking for MAJOR. injury/paralysis/ DEATH..........the Greed-DRIVEN coaches PUSH these naive young adults, the young ones don't think about how easy it is to die doing this stuff..only see $$$$/fame/glory.....so VERY SAD....she lands the stunt..THEN. lands on her HEAD???!!??....WTF?!?!......SEE .........and I bet she thought she was doing everything right...well...apparently she did SOMETHING WRONG , because she is now DEAD,.... at 29 years old it's ALL over for her, ....too sad to believe ,but true....what a waste, Rest In Peace,Dear lady....My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends...poor thing... :>( ............coaches have responsibilities to these people ,too ...if these coaches want these folks to try these impossible stunts, then the COACHES. should go OUT THERE AND DO IT FIRST,(!!!!)...just to prove that it at least can even be done...just my opinion.... Rest In Peace to that Lusk guy, Moore,,all of them ....peace...(§). :>)
What a tragedy. Prayers to her family, friends and fans. If the USA is so bad, why are there so many people trying to get in? The USA is by far the greatest country in the world, hands down, idiots.
