The 2022 supercell storm season in Saskatchewan was one of the best in recent memory. We saw consistent thunderstorm activity across much of Western Canada all summer with Saskatchewan seemingly producing a memorable storm every other day. Unfortunately, the season coincided with record-breaking gasoline prices which made chasing a little more difficult. That said, I got out a lot and am excited to present my fourth installment of "Land of Living Skies".
This film features time-lapse footage from many different storms from the 2022 #skstorm season. Some of the major events included are:
- June 23rd tornado-warned storm near Chamberlain, Saskatchewan
- June 29th storm system that produced three tornadoes around Foam Lake, Saskatchewan
- July 8th tornado-producing storm near Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan
- July 15th tornado warned supercell that began near Davidson, Saskatchewan and travelled all the way to Manitoba.
- July 17th tornado warned supercell that produced the best storm structure I've ever seen
A timelapse film is only as good as the music and this year I am beyond excited to bring you two incredible songs from Greg Dombrowski of @Secession Studios called "Hope is a Prison" and "The Gloaming". I think you'll agree, it's amazing and I really encourage you to check out all of his work on his website:

A big thank you to my wife for all the support. This would not be possible without you. Thank you to my kids for helping mom out while I disappeared for hours on end.

Missed this somehow, sorry! Thanks so much for watching this one. Honestly, the music makes these timelapse films what they are. Beautiful work by Secession Studios (Greg Dombrowski)

I find it hard to believe you only have several hundred views of this video. This is some incredible work and I love the music. I also had no idea you have this sort of weather in Canada. I follow several of you storm chasers and envy your talent and abilities. Like other comments made I live in the hills of Missouri and our road system in the Ozarks leaves a lot to be desired for anyone chasing. Not to mention the radical nature of our storms once they do arrive here. They like to make subtle changes in direction because of the hilly terrain. If a person isn't careful you can drive right into a storm because it suddenly changes direction or the road you're on makes a turn towards it.. This happens mostly because you can't see the storm until you top out on a hill. Anyway I loved this film and you have a new subscriber. Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed this film. I don't make them to maximize view count but because it's a great way to cap off a chasing season. That terrain sounds very difficult to chase in. Certainly sounds like someone would need to be pretty experienced with the way storms interact with the landscape there to be successful. Storm season is coming again soon, hopefully, you get something that's beautiful and fun to chase. Have a great weekend!

I have too many trees and hills around me when I try to make a time-lapse, plus I don't have a camera with 4k resolution. Watching this is so entertaining. You are blessed to live in a province with such open skies. What a dream.

Thanks Terry! Glad you enjoyed this one. All good here, just too much going on right now to commit much time to RU-vid unfortunately. How have you been?

@@ScottAspinall Hello Scott. Been engulfed in smoke in my area for awhile. A couple of close Forest fires, but things appear to be under control now. Been shooting and developing B&W film for awhile now and really enjoying it. Still hoping to be able to get back into your area some time in the future when I’m allowed to.😇 Take care now and don’t work to hard.👍👍
