Back when the manga was going on they did multiple worldwide pools and research and every volume they would put out statistics. Itachi's peak was in 2008/2009 and he is definitely up there but he's not the most popular.

Really don't get how people don't understand Sasuke and Shikamaru's characters. There's a difference between the kind of revenge both of them wanted. Sasuke almost looked completely consumed by this vengeance he wanted at the time when Kakashi stopped him from nearly killing Naruto back at the rooftop. It wasn't just revenge he wanted, he wanted power...and he'd do anything to achieve it. Kakashi saw this and told Sasuke to forget about revenge. Probably should've done more and kept an eye on him, maybe even assure Sasuke that he'll have his revenge in time and that he'll even help him. Regardless, this is the difference between Sasuke and Shikamaru's revenge. Shikamaru wasn't consumed by it and approached everything with a clear and mature mind, unlike Sasuke. In fact, I wouldn't even call what Shikamaru wanted revenge; he wanted pure justice - and he got it.

And i was just pointing out that sasuke was becoming blind in his fight with kakashi because rt tv be hating on him/downplaying him sometimes for no reason. Lastly, itachi was much older and stronger and more experienced with the mangekyo sharingan in his final fight against sasuke, so I don't think it's fair to compare the two. Plus sasuke was healed by Karin prior to fighting danzo, he was never healed by her prior to fighting with kakashi/clashing with naruto.

And i don't think experience plays a part in blindness yes itachi had more years to hone his visual prowess but also more years to deteriote them. I understand your inclinations for kakashi and i support whatever you say but do give some props to a post five kage summit sasuke which was still going strong as your comment is shifted to the future hokage and its best to be impartial.

@@Assassink309 my point with itachi is that itachi had his ms for like 7-8 years before he fought sasuke while sasuke just had the base sharingan. So even if itachi was going blind and went completely blind at the very end of the fight, he still had other abilities that he had perfected, like susanoo (which he couldve activated while not even being able to see pretty much) and ametarasu, unlike sasuke who as we see in this fight is no where near the level of itachi when it comes to mastery over the ms. Yet, as inexperienced as sasuke is with the ms when compared to the likes of itachi and madara, it's still impressive, even if karin healed sasuke (though I'd argue that she didn't heal him fully as he was still obviously going blind), that sasuke was able to take on the five kage with help, defeat danzo with minimal help (same danzo who had multiple sharingans/izanagi and was much older and more experienced than sasuke) and fight kakashi/clash with naruto while nearly blind (his eyes were literally gray and were bleeding). I understand the rest of your points and agree, just thought I'd clear this one up. Btw, I'm not explaining this to you as I'm sure you understand at least most of what I'm saying and can agree to an extent, but my original comment was meant to be a reminder to rt tv, who sometimes argue senselessly and miss dialogue so they just automatically hate and downplay certain characters. They used to do this a lot with sasuke but thankfully they've grown to like and tolerate him more as they understand his character more, but they still misunderstand some things about sasuke, like how so many other naruto fans do
