Thats just not true. First time he shows up on shippuden he casually moves so fast that not even Yamato can react. He gets in the middle of Jugo and Suigetsu mid swing and wraps snakes around them, blitzes Deidara, dodges a V1 Killer Bee Lariat point blank in the air, dodges a point plank Raikage elbow, gets in the middle of the all the kages without them noticing he was there and post EMS keeps up with KCM2 and up Naruto, Tracks Juubito without the cloak boost and blitzes Juubidara. He was always fast, you just dont get the over the top smeary animation to show that speed.

what I liked about this is that it didn't just hype up sasuke but Naruto as well throughout the whole exam everyone was waiting for this match everything else was just a side show this was the match half the people came to see and both of these guys where going hard at it until the invasion started so then these two took their fight into the forest where sasuke gets overpowered and Naruto had to step in whom gaara looked down on unlike he did with sasuke it wasn't until Naruto started throwing hands back that gaara realized he was HIM the main character

Real talk though, Naruto beat Gaara free. Gaara dropped his whole bag. Naruto was fighting himself half the fight, then when he beat himself up enough, then he started fighting Gaara. Ended with Naruto dragging himself over to Gaara on his chin like the Terminator, you know the fight was free when a guy is scared of his opponent while they can't even use their arms and legs!

She fights a guy with Nine Tails Chakra who is confirmed to be KCM2 level in one of the novels, which are canon whether you want to believe it or not. Also she kinds outran an attack from Kaguya (which would've still gotten her eventually if not for Kakashi but still quite impressive) Also that hit she landed broke a horn off and damaged Kaguya's eye so that's a fairly big feat too. I doubt even Sage Mode Naruto or KCM1 Naruto could do that.

I think a lot of people forget that the Sharingans ONLY ability back then was specifically to copy the opponents techniques, and read their movements. Thats why Kakashi was called the copycat ninja. This was demonstrated really well in the video games where sharingan kakashi and sasuke could literally counter and use other characters movesets. But then... well the rest is history.

Kakashi copied Rock Lee's moves, and then Showed them to Sasuke and he copied them after. Sensei couldn't do all 8 gates, so obviously he didn't teach him that. But Sasuke still had to get that fast to use that speed, so his workout must have been insane.

Well, the whole written portion of the Chunnin exam was about how many times you were found cheating, not if you were found cheating at all. You telling me that Sasuke and Neji suddenly activating their ocular jutsus or Akamaru barking super suspiciously or Temari getting answers from the judges themselves would fly under all those Jounins? The point was to see how well you could gather information. I believe that it was, if you were caught fives times, you were out. You'd have to be some next level lousy ninja to receive fives strikes from the most permissive judges around.

Still think the greatest "I'm HIM" moments in the chunin exams/Konoha Crush were Weightless Lee and surprisingly, Shino packing up Zaku and Kankuro. Shino basically Bug Gaara but with the ability to eat chakra, and Sasuke’s chakra at that time was mediocre at best, he could only use chidori twice a day. Part of the writing for the chunin exams was to show Sasuke wasn’t #1 in his class, he was probably 4th or 5th behind Rock Lee, Neji, Naruto and Shino. Another reason he left Konoha because he wasn’t getting stronger fast enough and knew he’d get left behind if he didn’t seek someone who understood the Uchiha bloodline.

I always did like this outfit for next to no reason. It just looked cool. Even though it's still loosely his original outfit just combined together as a one-piece, it works. It just works. What I hate about this fight is how easily Sasuke gain Lee's level of speed in short amount of time. It really assassinated Lee's character and his whole arc of "work hard and you too can surpass a genius"

Sasuke is a hard working genius & he wasn't as far behind Lee as people seem to think. In order to copy moves the user has to be physically capable. Sasuke showed he could in his preliminary match. His body felt intense strain though. Kakashi said during training he had Sasuke replicate them til his body got used to it.

With that Chunin written exam... I believe they explained in the show that most of the questions were impossible and they expected students to cheat. EVERYONE cheated in different ways and the practitioners knew about it. TBH, Ghara's wasn't even the worst. Tenten's cheat made no sense: she had strings attached to her pencil attached to mirrors on the ceiling???
