Yes, not in worship but as a sign of respect. It was commonplace to curtsey or bow to each other 200 years ago and still in in England to the monarch. In Japan everyone bows respectfully to each other still. As to calling one 'father" St. Paul mentioned being a spiritual father and we have natural fathers that we call father or some form of it.
