Satisfying cleaning - "Barnfind" low mile VW Golf mk3 - stood neglected for 4 years

With such faded (therefore rough surfaced) paint the probability of blasting it off is quite high. I think that's why he started using some chemical after the first bit.

Yeah I still have an arm full of metal! I can lift as normal but if I'm in the gym I prefer to use an EZ bar than a straight bar so I can have a more relaxed wrist. Most of the time I forget it ever happened mate

@@halamanmahiwaga2063 no mate it's been in too long now so the bone has grown around it, it'd be very painful to remove. I'm fine with it being there. You'll get there mate, loads of flexibility training is key and don't go mad with weight. Mine wasn't "good" until over a year after and it still has minor issues now 4+ years later but you get completely used to working around it. If you do want the plates removed you have 2 years from surgery to have it done else it calcifies

It was getting repainted, far easier to blast off the clear and start again anyway mate

It needed some music and it all has to be shitty royalty free stuff. I uploaded it before with different better music and it was removed by youtube so I had to change it

@@ChrisTheCarBuilder My English is "google translater" excuse me, yes I think the 1.6l has tilted the engine forwards and the 1.8l with 75PS has tilted the engine backwards. The exhaust also looks like 1.6l, the 1.8l with 75PS has the exhaust bent down at the end. The 1.8l is more durable, needs a little more gasoline.

​@@ChrisTheCarBuilder Yes. the 75PS Golf is not good for racing. Is too lame in the suit. I have the 1.8l / 75PS as an everyday car. It has 140 NM, which I think is good

Well given the UK average is 12k per year it's about 210k lower than average, and about 80k lower than most around

The wheels were being replaced so I didn't bother washing them

I used a general purpose degreaser and a pressure washer, I didn't need to go too mad as I'm repainting it

@@ChrisTheCarBuilder I had a peek at the mot history. 'Just' needs a new exhaust, steering column and bearing, and fix some oil leaks. I imagine the brakes are now a bit iffy. How much are they worth? MK3's seem to have some value now. It would make good watching for you to polish and fix it up for a sale - assuming it's not been scrapped.
