The Blackhawk! SAW Pouch with elastic lid also makes a great shotgun pouch. It holds about 50, the elastic keeps the shells from flying out, and you can do top offs or “load one, shoot one” pretty easy with it. You just have to keep the cover lid out of the way.
i just looked at the blackhawk saw pouch. it is very similar to the coyote one i have in the video. i will have to try the shotgun shells in it. thanks for the tip!
Faithful Number 5. SAW pouches make great GP pouches. Plenty of options out there. Prefer ones that have molle on them to add small pouches for knives, flashlights, etc.
I've never seen the 90's OD 'snap lid' SAW pouch you wore. I used to watch Vietnam era Navy Seal Madison Parker videos and he used one (two actually on his ALICE belt) like the coyote style with the 'slot flap' on to keep his sling shot ammo in. His videos primarily showcased primitive skills and hunting with 'silent' weapons like sling shots. I have several SAW pouches like the coyote one with the divider insert and the slot flap snap on cover but the ones I have are split flap covers like your ABU pouch but without the buckles. I've also seen a version that has a piece of material sewn to both flap covers so they both come up when pulled open. The coyote style is indeed heavy material! Another 'green apple' dye job on the ABU - looks good!
I personally like the woodland molle 2 saw pouch better than any of these I use them on my eagle h harness for canteen cases and Ifak and survival pouch. The canteens are 2 liter SADF and I have a 1/4 inch od shock cord tied to the molle webbing and stretch it over the neck of the canteen. Good video thanks .
My Eagle Industries SAW pouch looks EXACTLY like the khaki one...has elastic snap in top but no internal dividers...and no MOLLIE webbing on sides... I LOVE it!!!
