Fugue BWV 577 (originally in G major) by J.S.Bach. Arranged in Bb major for high saxophone quartet (soprillo, sopranino, soprano, alto) by Nigel Wood. Played by the octave higher sax quartet: Soprillo - Nigel Wood, Sopranino - Chris Jolly, Soprano - Tom Bruton, Alto - Victoria Benjamin.
Recorded in the paint room at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Fantastic! I always wanted to see more of this high quartet idea ever since Randy Emerick posted his high quartet video of "Blue Skies." Though the soprillo kinda sounds weird in this performance. Now, time to do it with a low quartet! (tenor, baritone, bass, contrabass)

I would like to hear Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #2 with the standard instrumentation, except with the trumpet being replaced with the Soprillo saxophone. I think that would have an interesting blend with the flute, oboe, and violin.

I'm in the middle right now!! Excellent transcription!! Just Incredibly engaging and utterly suitable for concertizing!! And Wow! the end was great. Loved this.

hahaha! three amazing steps. fist arrange a bach piece for sax-quartet. ok, thats common. second: reorganize your quartet with crazy high instruments. third: play a concert, record it and publish it! amazing. my only question: can you do the same 15vb?
