I own a Cafelat Robot and this is a nice accessory for the occasional times I have to make a milk drink. I just wished the heating element was slightly larger so that milk wouldn't burn on the bottom and make it harder to clean

Agree 👍 can get a little bit of crust each time. Easy to clean off all the same

Same here! I own a Cafelat Robot and it does help with the workflow given I don’t need to use the microwave anymore and then use the previous versions of the nanofoamer. Clean-up does take more time :p but it is a perfect combo for manual levers.

@@AlternativeBrewing Yep, but a larger element might mean a rinse would be enough. Rather than rinse and wipe

Thanks for the comprehensive review. It will be interesting to compare this with the meticulous milk when that arrives.

Hi, great video. I got this when it was on Kickstarter and I have to say I’m getting quite inconsistent results especially with low fat milk (which I know is not ideal). Also the cleaning over time can get more stubborn despite cleaning it immediately after use. I generally found it harder to get good microfoam with smaller (150ml) drinks too. I purchased the Nanofoamer Lithium and have to admit I’m having a much better experience being in control of the process.. esp with low fat and smaller drinks. Also the cleaning is much easier. I use a Flair 58 so I don’t mind microwaving the milk for 60-90 secs while I pull a shot

Picked up the NanoFoamer Pro via their Kickstarter campaign. Been enjoying it so far. Great product for me since I can't steam milk properly to save my life.

I just ordered this in UK from a 3rd party got it next day which was great and cheaper than from their official website Its a brilliant frother and its proved a god send as my Sage machine i think has a problem with the steaming. Full fat milk - the impeller on my unit looks pre wobbly not as ive seen needed adjusting as too tight on some deliveries - i got a cheapy milk frother similar style when i was making non espresso drinks - it came with a cleaning wand - think like folded over foam on a handle - very rubbish design but ive been using that to clean the unit - its very soft on cleaning the residue at bottom - also read somewhere that a drop of oil in the container before pouring the milk might help with lessening the residue after making a milk froth.

I wonder how this would work for a somewhat heavy cream? On those days when an Irish coffee would be nice, would be a treat to put a cold froth from some cream on top without getting out something else to whip it.

I’ve had mine for 3 weeks now. Amazing texture. I can’t get any art but the drink experience is excellent. Cleaning does suck but it’s comprise I’m willing to live with. I use flair 58. I was contemplating buying a dual boiler but since I’ve had the nanofoamer I am in no need to get another machine.

I like mine too, but the heating needs to be improved because by the time you'll have a burnt spot above the heating element that you can't avoid.

I do find that I get inconsistent results with mine, I've had to resort to using the highest setting to get foamier milk (using Oatly Barista). I often make back-to-back drinks, and I find the second batch of foamed milk can be a lot less frothy. I thoroughly clean between the two drinks, I just can't seem to get it right.

Been a few weeks now i have one, can't get that silky texture with Oatly barista milk. Maybe its because milk comes out the fridge, i don't know 😢

I’ve found that even running the propeller under hot water for a period of time still traps milk. I take it apart and clean it manually each time.

How is this different from a Nespresso aerocinno for making foamy milk? Can you do a comparison video please? I have the aeroccino and it's good but the foam collapses with hot chocolate .

The Nanofoamer has an additional element that helps control the speed / height and velocity of the vortex of spinning milk. It's those small little lips that you place in the container that have a huge effect on how the bubbles when created are mixed in to the body of the milk. Done right - it'll be silky smooth - done wrong - and the bubbles,if made right presumably, will quickly rise to the top of the milk surface and pop off - reducing volume you just created. The Nanofoamer is doing something hear the mimics a barista using an Espresso machine steam wand - versus what most machines are doing at the moment - which is just relying on spinning the milk on one plane, and slowly heating it.

Mine has just stopped working after 5 months. My trusty Dualit milk frother is still going strong after 8 years of daily use. It was a quarter of the price.

@scoobysnax8127

Update: the replacement is fiddly. Constantly needs adjustment to work properly. It doesn’t spin properly (or at all)in the second half of the process. Well, sometimes it does when it chooses to. And I definitely have the lid on correctly. I’ve noticed there’s a new version launching soon. I appreciate they sent a replacement but I am not impressed at all. Way too faffy for something at that price point. I keep reverting to my trusty old Dualit.

Any idea if this can be used just as a milk warmer without the foaming/frothing function?
@AlternativeBrewing
@AlternativeBrewing 14 дней назад
yes - but it will still spin and possibly add a little bit of thickness to the milk still 🫶 Only way to warm milk up otherwise is in the microwave, on the stove, or a hot water bath
