Golden Idol Mysteries: The Spider of Lanka is an expansion to the brilliant Case of the Golden Idol, a game about solving mysterious happenings. Investigate the scene, gather the clues, try not to make too many silly assumptions (a task at which I ALWAYS fail), and do your best insert famous detective character here impression! (I'm pretty ride or die for Columbo, personally.)

The way the tournament is updated implies the rounds are played one at a time instead of all the games in one set of matches played simultaneously. Or I suppose possibly just that Bill and Zubiri's game took markedly longer, and the others were waiting.

Just finished this! Saw the DLC for sale and snapped it up immediately. ... you can tell who is on what side of the board based on their rosette.

As a potentially interesting side note, the word _lanka_ means _thread_ or _yarn_ in Finnish (my native language). That would make it The Spider of the Thread, or The Spider of Thread. 🙂

Pająk also means spider in polish. The developers are from Lativa, so they could be aware of these meanings but I don't think they are intended to be read as meaningful. There are probably more relevant (south asian?) origins given the story of the game. Still, pretty fun stuff given how the game drives players to read and extrapolate from whatever details are provided!

@@brobzoid I would be very surprised if the use of words that have meanings in other languages was anything other than a coincidence, but whatever the case, being fluent in multiple languages adds a lot of interesting layers to many things in life. I frequently feel blessed and privileged because of it.

It seemed like the tattoo of the harpoon and fish on Carlos’ arm was meant to be the dead giveaway that he’s the harpoon guy

I can't be the only one been completely tilted by you never sorting the leftover Elements to drag. I made it through all 3 Videos and i was thinking: NOW SORT 20% of the time. I thought it was super obvious Carlos threw the harpoon. You funnily never Made the Connection of everyones Roses belonging to the colour they Play. Nice and quick solution still.
