Lmao, the thing about an interpreter's notebook is, you won't find a complete sentences in there. You'll only find symbols to remind her the points she'll deliver. It would looks like 🙍♀️👉👁💦💣💬 and some data like 1999, 7, ect.. Even what word represents by what symbol differs from one person to another. Give it another interpreter and they probably won't get what it's says 😅

This is really the first time that I saw that Sharon asks back to Bong, yet her translation was perfect as always. I guess she is trying to think herself as him talking, after fully understand what he says, rather than just trying to “translate” his words. What a translator, for a masterpiece.

Congrats to Director Bong Joon Ho! Also, much admiration for Sharon Choi and all skilled interpreters. Her live interpretation of Korean idioms into English without skipping a beat or the smallest of grammatical mistakes is incredible. And for us English speakers to truly appreciate Bong Joon Ho's humor through her interpretation is no easy feat!
@@devyaanshdwivedi5435 Yes! :) Along this PR campaign for Parasite, I have learned that Sharon Choi is a filmmaker, as confirmed especially in the Oscars backstage press meeting with them. Did you know that she also wrote an entire piece about her whole experience, including the Oscars, that was published by Variety Magazine? Total fan of hers hahaha.
Im so amazed!! Bong Joon-Ho is so Charismatic! Sharon is amazing toooo!!! And how wonderful was the actor, Lee Jeong Eun??????? Speaking all in English! She did sooo well!!

clasico51 do you read Korean? If yes, try the link: 1boon.kakao.com/feelthemovie/5e14a60d0f44233ad2f62b4e It clearly states she’s Korean American (kyopo). Get your facts straight. Just saying
This is why the left loves Bong Joon-ho Bong, Director of Parasite the Oscar winner for Best Picture, he is a liberal leftist. Bong was a member of the now defunct New Progressive Party (NPP) that was a left-wing political party in South Korea. The New Progressive Party was established by a number of Democratic Labor Party members (known as 'People's Democracy Faction') who left the party in reaction to the dominating Korean nationalist faction. Bong Joon-ho Bong has also voiced support, the defunct Democratic Labor Party that was a left-wing nationalist political party in South Korea. It was founded in January 2000, in the effort to create a political wing for the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and was considered more left-wing and more independent of the two union federations in South Korea. In December 2011, the party merged into the Unified Progressive Party. The South Korean government petitioned the Constitutional Court of Korea to dissolve the Unified Progressive Party due to their alleged pro-North Korea views Bong practically worships Martin Scorsese and his pal Robert DeNiro who both hate Donald Trump. I’m thinking that Bong Joon-ho hates Trump too and all Americans who voted for Trump. Maybe his whole crew hates Donald Trump. His movie Parasite was a Marxist type movie that Karl Marx would be proud of. In the end we can see the rich are the parasites over the poor. We can’t take our children to any of Martin Scorsese’s movies full of cuss words and bloody killings. So, I kinda think with Bong’s foul mouth and his drinking too much that he does not attend one of the loving joyful South Korean Christian Churches?
@@sonik120 Well, people didn't _address_ Hitchcock as "Hitchcock" and they didn't refer to him that way when he was present. Calling Bong Joon-ho "Bong" seems weirdly awkward. (And it seems to happen in every English-language interview.)
Actually, you guys are doing great. Bong, Son, Park, etc..that s easier for us and others. My first name sounds jeong-suk and my landlord calls me John. I have no idea how it became john..but....ya.
@@thekrustaceox5181 I think it’s great if people call him “Director Bong” or “Mr Bong.” But calling him “Bong” as if that is his *given* name, not his surname, seems, well, a bit off. (If he has said that’s how he _wants_ to be addressed, well, that’s a different matter.)
@@luvtiti I didn't specify who the "person" I was asking about was. I was asking about the man who spoke in the beginning. If you didn't know, now you know.
