Great review. I have 5(2 BNSF, 2 KCS and a CSX) of the Scale Trains Tier 3's and can't wait for the next run of Tier 3's by Scale Trains. The NS Heritage units are going to be a game changer! UP, Ferromex, NS and the Citirail are going to go quickly. Get your 💸🤑💲💵💰 ready.
Man, when I first got into the hobby Tower55 was the only place you could try to go for a Gevo. They were all on ebay and still too expensive. Even then, the motor control was okay at best, the sound was garbage, and the lights were dim. It's nice to see not only how many options there are now, but also how quality the options (like scaletrains) exists at an affordable price point. Great Video
Very nice review !, I agree Scaletrains hit this one out of the park. I didn't know the es44ac model was that good by scale trains. I'm definitely ordering a Canadian Pacific one, thanks again for the awesome review.
Doc, it has been a while since I viewed one of your video, it was worth the wait! Great review, I plan on getting both of those models before September 2021. Thanks for your time and I appreciate your knowledge.
You are absolutely correct. The Scaletrain rivet counter GEVOS are the best prototypical looking locomotives on the market. I have four rivet counter GEVOS, buying two more next month. I have two Athearn Genesis GEVOS..... not buying any more of them because they have crooked looking under frames making them look toyish. I have five MTH GEVOS, they look okay but no comparison to the rivet counter GEVOS. The winner are the rivet counter GEVOS.
@@AbelG8781 Scaletrains owner Shane Wilson worked at Athearn for about 8 years. The GEVO was mostly developed by him. Athearn has better sound than ST and better Quality overall. If you have been paying attention to Athearn they been releasing products in Genesis 2, the highest level of detail. The locomotive everyone's is excited about right now is the AC4400CW in Genesis 2.
@@kyleftw1679 agree that Athearn Genesis version is very good too, especially the Hi-Ad trucks, which I think is the best looking version even compare to ST version
Also..... I have a total of twenty six scale trains rivet counter locomotives. There is no comparison from any other locomotives when it comes to their details. All I can say is Athearn Genesis....watch out because scale trains is on your tail. They are coming at ya.
I agree, ScaleTrains is really making big moves in the model train market. They're also the reason most of these half-*@s manufacturers have stepped up their game.
